This isn’t commonly known but one of the rings of hell is actually being in a fandom wherein the popular bloggers have the worst opinions known to man that everyone else parrots

I'm fascinated by how the formatting of different social media sites affect how text is read.
For instance, a line break on Tumblr indicates a new idea.

With people on Twitter basically calling any character, or sometimes real person who they like (Kylo Ren, Tony Stark, Billy Eilish, Joe Biden) “femme-coded”, let’s talk about some characters who actually are “femme-coded”

Honestly it really does baffle me so much that someone can make a post like "there should be more women in media" which is an extremely basic and obvious statement and someone will inevitably say "this but with men" like have you been paying attention to the last several hundred years of western storytelling. It's like if I made a post saying "water is wet" and people started replying "this but with sand". like this isn't even about me being a lesbian it's just about the state of mass media in general.

It’s just so Suspicious how whenever there’s a female character who’s canonically or heavily coded as bi only bi women and the few other people who give a shit about them care about it or just acknowledge that the character isn’t straight, but as soon as a character who’s canonically or heavily coded as a lesbian shows up SUDDENLY the same people who never gave a shit about actual bi (coded) characters are very aggressively for “bi” representation.
What I’m trying to say is none of you care about either of us and only see us as useful when you can weaponize us against each other.
Also that you all see bisexuality as “less gay” so when a female character has shown interest in men, no matter how much she’s also shown interest in women, you all insist she’s just “straight” or ignore her bisexuality (canon or implied).
But when it’s a female character who only shows interest in women, since you can’t possibly deny that she’s not straight because she’s so BLATANT, you try to push her towards what you consider closer to heterosexuality (bisexuality, in your eyes) while trying to not seem like both a homophobe and biphobe.

trans girl: so the patriarchy still benefits under-privileged groups relative to their social positions, for example whilst obviously oppressed, working class men obviously still have privilege over working class women, gay men still have privilege over gay women etc.
tumblr: right, that makes sense
trans girl: so naturally, trans men still have privilege over trans women, even if they are still relatively under-privileged in comparison to cis men
tumblr: shut the fuck up transphobe

Y'all, the world is sleeping on what NASA just pulled off with Voyager 1
The probe has been sending gibberish science data back to Earth, and scientists feared it was just the probe finally dying. You know, after working for 50 GODDAMN YEARS and LEAVING THE GODDAMN SOLAR SYSTEM and STILL CHURNING OUT GODDAMN DATA.
So they analyzed the gibberish and realized that in it was a total readout of EVERYTHING ON THE PROBE. Data, the programming, hardware specs and status, everything. They realized that one of the chips was malfunctioning.
So what do you do when your probe is 22 Billion km away and needs a fix? Why, you just REPROGRAM THAT ENTIRE GODDAMN THING. Told it to avoid the bad chip, store the data elsewhere.
Sent the new code on April 18th. Got a response on April 20th - yeah, it's so far away that it took that long just to transmit.
And the probe is working again.
From a programmer's perspective, that may be the most fucking impressive thing I have ever heard.
