The past season of Malevolent has been so much "tense chase scenes around New York, serial killer drama, hunting down a cult, classic noir detective shenanigans" that I managed to forget about that bit in season 2 where Arthur spent three months living in a pit eating human flesh

feels weird to say but arthur lester is the only protagonist i think i've ever genuinely, honestly, no exceptions, rooted for. i just need him to win. literally anything else can happen, i don't care, i need him to win in the end. it can be bittersweet, he can lose as much as he needs to along the way, i just need him to win in the end. he is all the human optimism left within me. if arthur lester wins in the end, hope matters and trying matters and kindness matters. harlan guthrie when i catch you,
