AUDIENCE AND ADVERTISING
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I did another mockup of my logo for advertising, how I will get my audience to download my game. I thought if I make the game free to download with a 25% off any of the gaming bundles inside the game (for first time user) it would bring people in and they'd be intrigued about what they can get in the game bundles.
My target audience are teenagers (14-19) gamers who enjoy games like the last of us but do not have the facilities like a PC or Xbox to play these types of games. as someone whose never been able to play video games on anything apart from an iPad I found it easy to relate to this and thought there are other people like me who want to play these types of games but don't have the platform to do so.
I hope my game will interest my target audience and anyone else who is interested.
Below is the app mock-up to show how the logo will look as an app.

IPAD MOCKUPS
Because I did all of my outcomes in portrait format my teacher suggested making the game only for iPads as a PC is set in landscape and I would've spent too much changing the settings to get them into a PC mockup.
i've put the concepts into mockups to show how it will look on the screen, I hope this gives a clear idea on what I am going for with my game although it is only the concept.

Final outcomes.
In the second one you can see ive added in the full body illustrations to show that I have used the inspiration of Simon Stalenhag. Now that I have included my illustrations in the background you can get an idea of the setting, mood and tone of my game.
this also shows how colossal the robot beasts are.

I was having trouble coming up with a logo idea for my game, then my friend suggested to me to use the sun sword as my logo because it was eye-catching and different. I made this really quickly and I am actually really happy with how it turned out, just by looking at the logo you can tell the game is about some kind battle or fight.

Full body step by step process.
I did this other design for the full body concept of my characters, I used the same process to create all my drawn outcomes, the background scene is the only outcome I haven't drawn into, I once again have carried the same colour scheme through to this outcome and I also designed the sun sword she will use to kill the robot soldiers.

This is the next character design I completed for my final outcome.
using the same steps as the outcome below I have created the next character in my game. I changed the colour to purple just so you can tell the characters apart, I chose purple be4cause I think it compliments the blues and cold colours through out my outcomes.
Again I'm really proud of this outcome and the process's I used to get there have really helped me take my illustrations to the next level.

Here is my step by step process of how I created the portrait designs for my characters.
I used reference images from my FMP folder on Pinterest for the basic face shape and proportions but I did it in my own style.
I used different paint brush tools and blending brushes, layers and overlays to get to the end result. I also stuck with the blue colour in this one to link with the background and the robot again. With alot of inspiration from Jason chan I managed to create these outcomes.
I really love doing this type of illustration, I love to imagine myself in these elf forms and really put my self into them. I find with all my artwork (especially my girls) they all have an element of me in them and that's how I relate and connect to them.

This is my robot final outcome, this is the concept for the characters that the gamer is trying to defeat.
I created my robot a few references from Pinterest and using the steps I learnt on robot concept art to create this outcome I then chose a colour palette that I felt matched the mood of the setting, I started with the basic shape then added more layers to create depth, movement, light and shadows.
I am happy with my outcome especially this one because I never really draw anything else apart from the female form so it was refreshing to create this piece.

I selected a piece of work from the artist Simon Stalenhag to edit into my background. I uploaded the bottom left photo of marsh land into procreate and added the saturation filter to give a sepia colour. I then added the work from Stalenhag over the top of the edited marsh land.
then using the smudge tool I blended the layers together. I had to look at how Stalenhag composes his work and what the viewpoint is, in almost all of his work the focal points are the monsters in the distance and the comparison in size between the people walking through the landscapes and the monsters. These are areas I had to take into account when producing this piece.

another quick pencil anatomy study showing proportions and movement, I like how this quick sketch turned out the techniques found on proportions really helped me.
