There is a small sealed container left in the open. It appears to be an old lunch box of some kind but the picture was long ago faded by the harsh Aussie sun and wind. Inside, should Roo check, is a cupcake with a note under it. "𝒴𝑜𝓊 𝒶𝓇𝑒 𝓁𝑜𝓋𝑒𝒹, 𝓂𝓎 𝓁𝒾𝓉𝓉𝓁𝑒 𝓈𝓅𝓇𝒾𝓃𝑔𝓇𝑜𝓁𝓁."

Poor Roo didn't have anyone to help him read the pretty script anymore. That's why he put off eating it for so long. He missed his family... but at least Doc hadn't vanished yet.

Stuffing the stale cake into his mouth, he crept up on Doc, and sprang onto his back to nuzzle his gaunt cheek. Crumbs got everywhere, but getting messy was the price one paid to be close with Roo.

"Wot's this say?" He waved the note in front of Doc's goggles. "More'a them pretty words ya always write me?" The way the young Rat acted, one would never know how terribly he felt.

A simple red heart cute out of slightly stained paper with the words "I love and miss you" on it with his initial is placed for Roo to find in plain sight. If he turns it over it also suggests he should come over for a dozen kisses if he wants and a home made meal.

Without someone to help him read the card it took longer for him to decipher. But once he did, he bounded to Doc's home, ready for his tasty treats-- the food and the kisses.

-A truckload of illegal fireworks has been is literally parked outside with a kangaroo tag tied on the tail pipe. Is this a safe decision? Probably not. Is it bound to spread some joy on Roo's birthday? Hopefully so!-

He just now notices the truck. Blinking blearily up at it, it takes several long moments for everything to click into place. Oh yeah... He and Tick had decided his birthday was on July 4th.
