Devil May Cry verse; let it burn

Before Mundus, there was a full pantheon that ruled over the demon world. Their superiority was unmatched, with temples built in their names and they were worshiped as gods by the sentient species’ they ruled over, and kowtowed to by the lesser. Yet their unity -- their greatest strength -- was also a weakness as several of the group had conflicts of personality and ambition. Viewed as the embodiment of justice, Mythal was often sought as a peace bringer to end these spats before they turn into all-out war. Eventually it was determined that they would each have their own territories. 

This fragmentation is one of the things that led to their downfall, as Mundus was not only able to claim the Qliphoth fruit for himself while they fought over it, but then use its power to overthrow them. All were thought destroyed by him, save Mythal who was able to manifest in another vessel and ever since has gone by the name of Flemeth. She is still powerful, despite being a shade of her former self. 

Her current agenda is unknown but she has made appearances at certain critical times, rarely intervening directly but always nudging events in a direction that suits her mysterious ends.
