"YOU'RE KIDDING!?"

You nearly topple over the trinkets on your desk when you had slammed the table prior to your screaming.

Moments before such a reaction, you had called Dan Heng into your room to discuss a 'private matter', in which you had to talk to him personally with no distractions.

'Private matter' being your feelings, and how bottling them up was making you lose your mind - so to save yourself the slowburn suffering, you had to confess the aching sensation in your chest every time he passed by.

"I, uh.. I like you." Your voice is almost a murmur, staring down at your desk that you stood behind with Dan Heng infront of it.

There's silence, he tilts his head slightly. "Sorry?"

You're about to repeat yourself, already regretting your decisions until you hear him clear his throat.

Looking up, you notice a hue of red on his face as he looks almost as shy as you, a rare sight from the usually nonchalant Dan Heng. "You.. like me?" He repeats for clarity, watching you nod as silence once more fills the room.

"Well.. I like you too. I'm surprised you beat me to the confession."

"...YOU'RE KIDDING!?"

And that lead to the unexpected relationship between the trailblazers who almost never interacted within the publics gaze.

You'll admit the first few weeks were.. awkward. You two didn't have much dating experience, especially Dan Heng, but you see how he tried. He'd always text you if you guys were seperated, you notice how he's much more clingy when you're around, and how he's clearly more comfortable with you than anyone else.

But you'd often times get him 'just because' gifts and letters, told him he was the person you adored most, and constantly reminded him how perfect he is. However, most of the time - especially in public, it still felt like you guys were more or less friends than anything else.

And because of that, there was a bit of overthinking that clouded your mind for a while. You of course, acknowledged that Dan Heng was not at all required to immediately reciprocate affection in the way you do.. but you simply wanted to be reassured that he felt the same way about you.

So on a rainy night, with Dan Hengs arms wrapped around your own frame as the sound of raindrops hitting your window keep you up.. well, not to mention the racing thoughts of insecurities, that played a part too. You looked up at your boyfriend, who was fast asleep with his beautiful and peaceful expression, which made you feel bad for choosing tonight to communicate your feelings.

"Dan Heng?" You whisper, lightly rubbing his arm to wake him. His messy hair is everywhere, so you first wait as he moves it away from his eyes to get a good view of you even in the dark. "..Hm?" He replied sleepily.

"..Do you.." Hesitation was evident, clutching the back of his shirt. "..Ever think I'm not good enough for you?"

Silence.

"Cause-" You sniffled, unable to escape the lump in your throat as you began to share your feelings. "I know I'm not that amazing. I'm not energetic and bright as March, I'm not strong and independent like Stelle, and I'm certainly nothing like you.. I don't get it. Why me? Why me when you could have anyone else?"

You waited for a reply, but you weren't expecting much. You knew he wasn't a talker, and that is something you learned to accept, but you didn't know how to feel about the chances of him responding with "I'm not sure what to respond." or something along those lines.

"(name)," He chuckled, pulling you closer as your tears soaked his shirt. "You don't have to be them, not March, not Stelle, and certainly not me. I fell inlove with you because you're you, and you're more than I've ever wanted in someone."

You didn't know how to respond, you wanted to talk more, but the rears were getting uncontrollable and Dan Hengs firm and comforting arms around you weren't helping your emotional state. So you cried, and cried, and through it all - he was awake till you'd stop crying. It was then you realized how much you really mattered to him, more than you could fathom.

He placed several small kisses onto your forehead,

"I love you, more than you know."

"What'll it be for tomorrow?"

You smile as you watch Dan Feng make you a flower-crown, sitting across to him as his face is nothing but focused on such a silly task. And though it seemed out of character for him, he did it for you. He'd do anything for you if you asked.

"Can we make a cake?"

You watched him raise a brow, "A cake?" and you nod. "A cake."

He sighs through your soft giggles, ones that could even bring a Vidyadhara's heavy heart at ease. "You do know it is tomorrow, right."

His sentence sounds more like a statement, a matter-of-fact. Which it was.

You simply hoped it hadn't been.

He looks away when he hears you sniffle, his heart aching further when it was followed by dry and bitter laughter. "I know."

"But what's a birthday without a cake, right?"

He shakes his head, smiling softly. "Are you saying it's my birthday tomorrow?"

"It could be, how would you want to look at it?"

There's silence exchanged for a few moments.

"Anything but the day I'm taken away from you."

Those words sting more than you would've thought they should.

You want to beg for him to run, to escape away with you and explore the galaxy you were oh-so curious about. But here you sit, across to him, a crumpling flower crown in his hand as he squeezes it with such intensity. Two of you well aware that his fate is one written within the stars, once he committed the unforgivable act of granting immortality - he knew he was bound to face Sedition.

"Dan Feng.." "Hm?"

If you told him now, would it matter? If you spilled out your heart and your blood for him, would it matter if he wouldn't remember?

You hold your tongue and instead shift over to lean on his shoulder, sighing in what seemed to be disappointment. "It's only a shame we won't do things like this anymore.." And the click of his tongue followed by an 'mhm' means he shares your mutual thoughts.

"But.. I hope by some chance, even if impossible, you'll still turn your head when my name is called."

He cleared his throat, "You see that?"

And in return, you smiled. "Every single time."

When you arrived the moment Jing Yuan called to visit the Scalegore Waterscape, he sees how you refuse to look straight ahead and sighs. "I understand if you're afraid, you don't have to accompany me."

But thinking about all those what ifs, the ideas that clouded your thoughts all those years - you just wanted them to end. You wanted to hear the answer you've longed for, that you feel like you deserve to know. "No, I do."

The General watched as your footsteps picked up the pace, approaching the figure that stands in front of you - so familiar yet unfamiliar. You reached your hand out for his shoulder in a fit of desperation; "Those horns and tail wouldn't have belonged to anyone else,

And yet,

"Dan-"

It doesn't seem right."

You pause when he turns around, his gaze lack of the warmth you've missed for so long. You choke on your own words, "Dan-" You repeat once more, but you know it isn't him. You know that the man that you came all the way for was not the Dan Feng you knew.

"-Heng." He finished for you, his hand putting yours away in a dismissive manner. "I'm sorry but-"

"You're not him."

He notices how your head is hung low, but tears fall towards the ground below, darkening the sand with your pitiful state. "Sorry, I understand." You apologized, but you knew that Dan Feng wouldn't have wanted you to cry like this, at least not over him.

"Dan Heng, right?"

When you meet his gaze, he feels oddly.. entranced by you, and though your eyes were tear filled - he found your expression still kind.

"Mine is (name). I hope that I'm able to know you better, past who Dan Feng was."

"You have a wonderful name." Seeing Dan Heng smile so warmly tugs on your heart strings, as it was like staring at Dan Feng all over again - that smile that never left your mind since his Sedition, but you knew it was Dan Heng's smile. No longer his.

No longer who was once yours.

Vampire!Blade, that during feeding - he'll mutter your name while sinking his teeth into other people. He so badly wants to feed on you, to sink his teeth into your neck - maybe you'd even like that.

Vampire!Blade who has been in your room countless of times, as quiet as a mouse as he just watches you. He doesn't do anything, but his mind wanders to what exactly he could do - feed. Imagining how sweet your blood would taste, holding you down against the sheets as he listens to you make the noises that are music to his ears. But he doesn't, he controls himself, has a moment to realize how strange doing this is and leaves your room instantly.

Vampire!Blade who the moment he catches you, he's practically drooling at the bare skin of your neck. He's waited far too long for this moment and he's hungry. He feeds enough to satiate his appetite, but not enough to kill you. If it wasn't for the fact you found him very attractive, you'd be making a much bigger fuss about the situation you're in.

Vampire!Blade who whispers words of reassurance while he's feeding, murming on how good you're doing and how the pain will end soon. He even lets you tug on his hair if you're into that, and how he loves how much fear (or excitement ??) he drills into you. It has your blood pumping faster and faster and it makes it much more appetizing for him.

Conclusion: I'm never doing this again

Laying uncomfortably in a patch of grass and staring at the sky wasn't exactly LEON's idea of a fun time, but when he's actually there in the moment - he doesn't realize how calming it really is. It's been a rough couple of days.. weeks, years - life. Something as simple as stargazing, it made him feel at ease.

Of course, you holding his hand next to him and hearing to your heart-warming laughter was an added bonus.

"Look, I don't know how much longer I can pretend I can see the shapes you point out and not think you're crazy." Leon teased, turning his head to you as your eyes were still fixated on the stars. You don't reply, but he doesn't complain, gives him more time to admire you.

Sometimes he feel like he doesn't do it enough, spending his time to look at you, then on the other hand it feels like it's all he ever does. You're the first thing he sees when he wakes up and the last person on his mind as he drifts to sleep, he's so inlove with you but never in a way that it hurts, but that it lets him feel at home.

You make him feel like he's home.

"You know you're supposed to be gazing at the stars, right?"

He's so lost in thought that he doesn't realize you've turned to face him, a look of warmth that he always sees in your eyes. "Well I've found myself something prettier."

"Corny."

"For you, always."

You chuckle a little at his one-liner, squeezing his hand as you do. It's always the little things that you do that make his heart race.

You then spoke;

"I had a weird thought." "Oh? In public?" "Shut up."

"This life.. it's really screwed us over."

"Yes, it has."

You move a little closer to lean your head on his shoulder, looking back up at the stars that seemingly shone brighter just for this moment.

"I think in our next we should just become like.. I dunno, cat owners."

Leon smiles.

"Nah.. You sound stupid."

You gasp in fake offense, jolting up immediately. "How dare you-" But he easily pulls you back in, landing on his chest as his arms wrap around you and essentially trap you in the most comfortable way ever. You're about to protest, but he adds;

"I promise that in our next life, if your little.. ideas about reincarnation are real, then I'll love you as I did in this life and the lives after that. Because for however long there is a (name) and Leon, there will be (name) and Leon. That's how it works, I don't make the rules.

You blinked a few times in surprise, but eventually nuzzle against his chest. "You stole that one from a book you read?"

"I hate reading."

"Idiot."
