“Thank you.

He was actually sincere for the recommendations. Time to investigate-- and perhaps think of a way to repay someone who had tried to help.

“Parents, huh?”
He couldn’t speak for most of ‘em, but really.
“Never knew ‘em.”
Couldn’t remember much before they sold him like some sorta produce. Not like he cared; no reason to think about such shitty people.

“Then I’d act accordingly.” Now Sasuke was staring Gareki down. The boy wasn’t helpless by any means. Even without most of his jutsu he was still a talented ninja. He crossed his arms, leaning against the brick building behind him.
Sasuke wouldn’t make any moves unless Gareki did. However, he was going through scenarios in his mind if this conversation suddenly turned into a confrontation.
He knew that it wasn’t just the scientists that were trying to test him. It was annoying actually.
Oh hoo, there’s the switch. That’s the breaking point. All cordiality goes out the window, doesn’t it? That expression was more than telling. Still, Gareki kept an easy smile on his face. By now, it was obvious what was going on. Likely for both parties. Gareki wasn’t an idiot. He kept his body language loose, calm. He wasn’t going to attack, and he was showing it. He had no intention. He knew what he could do, and what was far beyond him.
The fact that the kid thought that it was going to turn otherwise was hilarious.
Tumblr media
“Ah, right, fight against people who can move people across entire dimensions and take their stuff.
     What could go wrong?”
There was sarcasm in his voice; getting all up-tight and for what? A simple conversation? The kid was just showing how unprepared he was for this. How much he wasn’t ready to handle this. Gareki was hinting to the kid, and it wasn’t getting through.
It didn’t matter who you were before this. What mattered now was what you did. Acting all high and mighty, or closed off, when someone asks your opinion on reality? That showed more than expected. An inflexibility, a way to show the point of which you couldn’t go back.
Though, Gareki was surprised he hadn’t gotten punched already.

It was one thing to be in a place he didn’t recognize, however familiar the type of surroundings they were. Among other things, having an entire location full of aggressive people was a hassle too.
He had been scouting the area, slipping in alleys and barely peeking out to get a scope of main streets and stores. It was bothersome enough, to evade the enemies about that seemed hellbent on killing anyone that moved in their sight. Well, that weren’t their own people. So, it was already a challenge to be in the area.
Tumblr media
Seeing some idiot hiding poorly in the distance didn’t help. It was likely a last minute hiding spot; hopefully he didn’t actually pick to hide there of his own accord. Now, he could offer to help, sneak on over and drag the guy’s happy ass to an actually decent hiding spot. Or, he could simply watch and see.
He preferred watching at the moment; would rather wait to see if the guy was useful than just save a dead weight.

Sasuke had been going off of what he learned as a shinobi. It was important to be patient and know when to actually make a move. “I’d rather be passive while observing my unfamiliar surroundings. If there is a possibility of leaving..I’ll find out sooner or later.”
The boy had been nervous at first, but now he was utilizing all he had been taught to keep himself calm and rational. “That just how I’m dealing with it.” Gareki could go off and explore the Hive without a plan, but that was not what Sasuke was going to do.
Tumblr media
Idealogy. It had been ingrained, something he totally believed in. Interesting really; a cautious view. Something a lot more cautious than Gareki would’ve expected. It wasn’t something for a time where there wasn’t violence. This sorta thing happened when you couldn’t risk going out.
Little things like that held more information than the kid would think. Just because he claimed to do something, didn’t mean to do it. Gareki isn’t one to charge in without a plan; he wouldn’t have made it as far as he had if he did. No, no, he was making a persona that seemed like it though. Hell, this was going as smoothly as some of his other marks have! Gareki almost felt sorry for the kid.
Tumblr media
“Makes sense, makes sense.
But, this is an experiment, isn’t it?
What if something happens because you’re being passive?”
Push a bit more, see just how far this kid has been built up. See if there’d be a crack. Since this entire situation was out of his power. What if things were further thrust out of it? Would he react violently to being told about the possibility? Would he break?

Sasuke was a little shit most of the time, but he knew when to be cordial.  “We should be prepared for anything. …Stay in the home the scientists gave us. Watch the news.. Take everything with a grain of salt.” He gave the advice freely, but it was up to Gareki if he wanted to listen.
For Sasuke it was about keeping things friendly. There was no cause for him to be rude and make enemies right at the start of this.
Passive. It was much too passive, the ways he was described. From what Gareki could gather, they were being watched; it wouldn’t be an experiment if not. But, such passive ways? Now, that didn’t fit at all. Still, he was making an effort to be cordial, so might as well return the favor.
“Pretty passive, considering we have no example of what they encourage.”
Phrased a simple, off-hand comment, Gareki moved to stretch-- what, stick around and lay low? Nah-- that wasn’t something Gareki was interesting yet.
Tumblr media
“What, not interested in looking around?
The history of the place, to see if people have left?
          Boring.”
Another test-- to see how he’d react to being addressed from cordial to teasing. A rather social butterfly sort of act, for sure, but who knows-- could bring about some interesting results.

komorii:
The bat nodded it’s head, getting off the male’s shoulders and flying back to it’s owner. Of course, it made sure to make sure that the person he found was able to keep up with it. The small bat also didn’t want to die to have something happen to it, it’s seen how people.. and other animals have been acting. Why was everyone out to kill them?  The bat led him down an alley that seemed a little bit darker. It did look suspicious, but there was still no sense of danger. The bat squeaked and Bat had came out of his hiding spot, a small frown appearing on his face.
Tumblr media
❛  You didn’t have to LEAD them to me. I just said see if you can find anyone else around.  ❜ A sigh came from the vampire as the bat crawled up his shoulder and made itself comfortable, thinking it did a good job.
❛  If it threw you off track, my apologies. I only sent it out to scout the area to see if there was anyone. I don’t know why it’d bring someone with it.❜
It understood, and it moved fast. That was good and something a bit worrying; it could understand the urgency, and it could understand what he meant. That meant it was trained. The speed was measured; he was sure it could go faster, as shown by how easily it had caught up with him before, yet here it was, keeping a pace he could follow.
He was incredibly wary of the little bat now, but didn’t want to risk turning around and leaving. He didn’t know the situation, but better avoid making it angry.
The alley was darker than the others, shadowed by the buildings and overhangs-- a decent hideout, but it wouldn’t last long. No, if the people that inhabited the place were smart, they’d start smoking people out from the inner hiding places. Still, it was very decent for what it had been.
Then someone stepped out from a hiding spot and Gareki paused. Definitely trained, as the person was addressing the bat without hesitation. It was also acting familiar; likely treated well then. Hell, sending something such as a bat to scout was a good move; Gareki was impressed, if a little miffed at the bat being so trustworthy with people. What if he had been a threat?
Tumblr media
“Maybe it thought you needed the help.”
Considering how the little bat was behaving, it was likely. Or it just cared enough for its owner to want them to have the best possible chance. Either way, Gareki was interested in the little bat still. Being able to scout, and the hearing would be an advantage, especially if there was to be supplies gathered...
Looking about the alleyway, Gareki couldn’t see any sign of any sort of supplies. What, did this guy expect to wait till night to get stuff? They’d be on guard then if they were smart; night was the best time to strike, and since this place was a shopping district, from the peeks he stole when he could, the people residing here would know to be wary. Unless, of course, there was some bullshit about the other not needing supplies.

One of Gareki’s passions was technology. It had showed back home-- tinkering to create bombs, connecting it so he could eavesdrop in rooms below and remote detonate what he had set up-- all of it had obviously benefited from his interest. So, however stark the change the city was, however quickly he had been stripped of nearly everything (with time, he could build it up again, he was sure), he was still quick to notice all the unfamiliar sights.
Whether those were outfits, speaking patterns, or other attributes, he made a note and kept moving. Never stare, never linger. Keep moving and no one would bother or become suspicious-- least that is what he had committed himself to.
Tumblr media
Seeing a screen pop up on someone’s forearm and be interacted with-- it caught his attention quick. His steps slowed, eyes drifting tot he surroundings. How to make it seem like it was a casual stop or the like so he could continue? Was it worth it to continue?

Sasuke glanced over at Gareki. There was some bit of comfort in knowing that he wasn’t the only one placed here as part of the experiment. He was about to say something else when a car caught his eye. He looked over as it passed the both of them– his curiosity was obvious.
“Hm..well the best we can do for now is just..survive.” He said, still staring out into the street.
He didn’t miss the other’s gaze being drawn to the street, how he had only replied after the car had passed-- it was quite telling. It was even a bit understandable; it was rare to even see one at home, being reserved for those who could afford them and even then, Karasuno wasn’t really made to have many cars passing through most of its districts.
It was tempting to learn about the other’s origin-- but he wasn’t dumb enough to try. No, he wasn’t going to ask until he was sure he’d get a reply.
Tumblr media
“The question is if there’s going to be anything in the way of that.”
Too soon to judge the general populace of the place; not enough examples for Gareki to go off of, and observing only got you so much when others knew how to hide the darker side of their actions.

Being cautious in a situation like this was not only smart– it was necessary. So Sasuke could see, and he could understand the stranger’s reason behind being so vague. The boy would retort with his own vague response.
“..Yeah..me too. ..Things here are…different.”
Tumblr media
The vague answer back was more than enough to make Gareki a bit impressed. Someone who knew the value of information, and obviously wouldn’t let it go to just anyone-- this would be fun.
Tumblr media
“You can say that again.”
Keep up the friendliness, even if Gareki was even more wary, however much he was glad to meet someone who knew what to say and when.
“Definitely fits their experiment.”
He was actually mad, but hell if he let it show. Instead, he just made it seem like he was nervous-- time to see if he managed to dig a reaction to it from the other successfully or if he failed. Probably did; not timed right, was it?

komorii:
Once the little bat had found someone, it immedatly had went to the person, trying to keep up. It wasn’t trying to hurt the other! He was just trying to find someone to help it’s owner! ( As Bat was more tired during the daytime and it made him a little harder to move around ). Once the smaller bat had close enough distant, it jumped on the person’s shoulders.  To show that he wasn’t going to be in any harm, the small bat leaned over and nuzzled the man’s cheek. He wanted to show he was good! The smaller bat would have understood if he had a hard time trusting the small animal. He just wanted to just help his owner!
It was following him. He wasn’t an idiot and had a tunnel view; he kept an eye on his surroundings. He could see the little bat following him. It was catching up too, and Gareki didn’t want to speed up to lose it in case he made too much noise.
The feeling of something gripping his coat, little claws poking and scraping against skin, sent chills down his spine. He had automatically tried to dislodge it, roughly, when it had nuzzled against him. A incredulous look overtook him and he stared at the thing on his shoulder.
Tumblr media
“Get. Off.”
A short pause, before his expression softened. This animal was likely trained-- but was showing a nonthreatening action. He’d heard stories of pets assisting hurt owners; was this the case? Trying to get assistance?
It’d probably explain why it was following people around in broad daylight.
“You want something, right?
     Then show me.”
Vague; but who knows if it’s owner was even alive. If anything, it could just be a trained bat wanting someone to get it food, and trying to sweeten the person up so it could get some. Either way, it might be useful to keep around-- whether it was to give him an idea of whether there were others nearby, or if there was an interesting enemy about.

Slipping through side-streets and taking only peeks at the main street, listening out for footsteps and voices-- just like home. It was ridiculous really, but he hadn’t been gone long enough that he’d be rusty. No, he was right at home.
The only fact was that he cursed that he didn’t have a map, and it was hard to scope out the location when you needed to be careful of searching eyes. Even the slightest misstep would spell disaster.
If he wasn’t already feeling right at home, he sure was now.
The only thing that caused a pause in his steps was something so out of place, he needed to do a double take. A little-- bat? What? Eyes narrowed-- this place was weird enough that he didn’t like it.
He ended up picking up the pace, weaving through the alleys as quickly as he could. Though it wasn’t settling as possible, someone using animals to track people down wasn’t entirely out of the question. Usually it was dogs though...

(So, Gareki may be new to Citta, but he’s going to be participating in the Fragmentation event! He’ll be in District Kappa, or Vario, for the duration of the event. Gareki has some basic combat knowledge, but more than enough street knowledge and is a pretty skilled thief, so if you need someone to help filch supplies or find places to hide, he’s definitely a good guy to know. Though, he is very distrusting and likely will only see your muse as someone to either use or keep away from, so please keep this in mind! This will be capped at 3.)

If Sasuke was going to be stuck here for days, he might as well make nice with some of the locals. It bettered his chance of survival at least.
“Hey. How long have you been here?”
Tumblr media
It was normal to be addressed. However much you tried to blend in, tourists liked to be friendly, even in Karasuno of all places. So, Gareki was able to smoothly turn towards who addressed him and judge what to do. Sort of brash opening, maybe-- could be pretty simple to be vague. Bluffing could work, but when it was an unknown...best to keep it simple and non-offensive.
Tumblr media
“Not long.”
Nice and simple, a bit on the vague side-- a few hours wasn’t long, but a few weeks could also be counted as not long as well. As for the next move, let’s see how far this was going to go.
“How about you?”
He wasn’t in the position or given a reason to not do an act-- annoying really, but he could deal with it. He’d just need to judge how things go.
