I always think about how Mitch is tough as nails on the outside, but he’s literally crumbling near constantly internally. The guy has never once felt like anyone was really proud of him or what he does, which is why he’d, of course, love the name MITCH’S MASTERPIECE when it came to the bomb -- it makes him feel like he’s worthy. Legit? someone telling him they’re proud of him when he gets close to them is probably the hardest thing to hear because he’ll choke up and hesitate.

He just never felt like anything he EVER did back home was good enough for his dad or for ANY adults really.
