Since pocket camp is a bit boring I’m making up my own headcanon to explain this game and even if its dumb in my excuse so is the camping shit.

Not that long ago a devastating disaster had happened and many were left homeless. The land was left in ruin so the animals traveled out far away and became nomads. While they had to fend for themselves these animals decided to continue living peaceful lives but now closer to nature after the unfortunate circumstances.

Trade had became more prevalent as many now found themselves needing material goods and food. Animals who had merchandise or provided a service were held in a higher regard and could afford transportation over the common tented peasant animals. Lord Tom Nook with his power and influence had introduced a new currency, leaf tickets which became more valuable than bells.

A few humans being more pack orientated and cunning than the average animal ended up starting small tribes. They figured there was security, profit and power to gain from these easy to manipulate animals. In turn these tribe leaders provided them with wanted luxury items (such as furniture) and a place of refuge.
