do y’all remember that short story where a scientist like, raises his daughter with no contact from the outside world and teaches her english wrong, like he teaches her that ‘yes’ and ‘no’ have the opposite meaning than they actually do and that ‘up’ means ‘down’ and vice versa, and then this guy meets her and starts to teach her what the words actually mean and she kinda sorta starts to get it and like, realize that it’s fucked up
and then one day she’s not home and the house is on fire and her dad’s inside and the firefighters are like ‘is there anyone inside’ and she says ‘no’ and we don’t know whether she understands what she’s saying or not
i bought this book because the movie is your favourite / i read it and every line reminded me of you / i have your hoodie / you have mine (i have so many sweaters, please share them with me) / i left my ring on your nightstand / you have my oat milk in your fridge / i have your favourite snacks in my cabinet / you always keep a bottle of water in your bag / and we share it / i wait for you / you hold my things while i put on my scarf / i hold the door open for you / you hold the door open for me / i underline poems that i want you to read / you say they remind you of me / i have your initials around my neck / i never take them off (please wear mine one day)
id rather you have cringy but honest interests than try and act like everything youve ever loved was in an ironic way cause you think that love for simple or useless or silly things is beneath you . pathetic! embrace existence with both hands coward
