My final installation looks great. I had to put my artist statement around the corner, but I think the empty wall surrounding the piece gives it another cool aspect... It looks like my unframed canvas has a massive white frame around it (the wall). Ugh I love this class and Melissa so much!!! Gonna miss you guys so much!

This is the final piece I sent to the printing company. I got it printed on a beautiful 39″x20″ canvas custom made by SLB Printing. They were great and I highly suggest using them (located in Culver City) for any printing needs. That is the image on the front of the canvas while the sides have wraparound black. The piece is overall gorgeous and I loved the experience! Melissa I love you and the last 3 years of graphic design wouldn’t have been nearly as fun or impressionable!!! Thanks for everything <3<3<3

After cleaning up the outline of the bottom half and filling in the shapes, I have my first “rough draft” of the full canvas. So far, the composition looks good but I do this there is too much white space.

I printed the bottom half of my piece and did a rough outline using the lightbox. I’m about to go in and clean it all up!

I started building the collage for the bottom half of the piece. Soon, it’s back to the light-board!

I finished filling in the outlines I had made before! I now have to go in and draw a few more things to fill in the blank space, and then I’ll get to start moving on to the bottom half of the piece!

After dealing with some layer issues, I finally got to start adding some textures. I’m gonna have to do some adjustments in the end to get rid of most of the white spaces next to my outlined drawing, but other than that it’s starting to look good. I used Instagram pictures as textures to show that difference between “the real” me and social media me.

I started creating my actual layout. I took the top half, printed it, and then outlined it using the light-box. I put it back in photoshop and started making some edits to clean it up... Im on my way to a final CAS project!

Today, I created my final file for my CAS project. It includes my 6 week project in the middle of it. My new canvas is 36 inches tall by 12 inches wide. I also went through my camera roll and started moving the photos I want to use into one folder.

I finished and put a frame around my 6 week project. I want to put that image directly into my final project because it is a good look into my life. #PeaceInTheMiddleEast

CAS Project Proposal
My 6 week project was a success. It taught me that I can make an aesthetic college and inspired me to fill it in with different textures. For my CAS project, I was thinking of doing the same concept, but comparing it to other peoples lives. By having them send me their camera rolls, I can create a collage for them. Through this, I will show that everyone is individual, and on top of that, show what my life is about. This would take a lot of trust from other people (to hand over their photos and tell me what their live’s are about). I would make a college of their lives, outline them, and then fill it in with texture from more pictures they sent me. I would then do the same for myself. I would need to make it somehow obvious which one is me to show that although we are different, we’re also our own individual that we can be recognized.

Looking back on my 6 week project
I would have loved to do a bit more filling in with textures, but a time constriction is holding me back. Either way, I achieved my goal of creating a aesthetic collage representation of my life. I like my final product and feel that it a promising start. I discovered that a light-box will be m new best friend, and with it, I can make my pictures seem more abstract and artistic. I should work on my drawing and keeping all my lines the same thickness, but for now I’m still just focused on taking photos.
