Never got that validation.

Here is the finished piece and I have it hanging up in my house. I entered it into the school art show but it was rejected bc my frame had a teeny tiny crack in it. That was my breaking point. I was so fed up with how these people treated art. I called my mom crying and told her none of my pieces made it into the show even though I was the top student in my drawing class. I was the student who the teacher would show the rest of the class my pieces as an example. They even featured me in the campus art magazine but I couldn’t even ENTER the show because of a minor flaw in my frame. For context I barely had money to eat back then and I spent my last 30$ to buy the frames just so I could enter. I didn’t even think I would win, I just wanted to enter the show and have my old high school teacher come to see my work and thank him for teaching me so much, but none of that happened, and I ended up dropping out.

It was one of my lowest points in my art career and I blame the pretentious pricks that have forgotten what art really is.
