I love Matilda because it's a story about a child who sees injustice around her and gets mad about it and questions why things aren't fair, and instead of the ending being that she learns how the world works and that life isn't fair, she catapults one of the adults who abused her out of a building with her mind

oh i don't know what young adult needs to hear this but you should google what day your 10,000th day will be & set a reminder in your calendar. it happens somewhere in your 27th year. i was really bummed when i googled my own and found out i had missed it by like 2 months.

(if you missed yours too, no worries, we both get another chance to celebrate 15,000 at 41. Unfortunately you will be 54 years old before you are 20,000 days old, at which point we will have overthrown the concept of linear time anyway)

life is very cute, and you have struggled a very long time to be here, and i love you. sometimes i think we need to invent our reasons for celebration. maybe today you are 10,345 days old. or 12,345. or 8,435. maybe u should just celebrate because it is a weekday, and those are hard days. i love u , light a candle and blow it out. i'm proud of you for staying.

Baby reindeer is the best series I have watched in a while. Would recommend to anyone who likes watching shows with complex characters.

It highlights how stalking can be a symptom of an illness much deeper, a loneliness and self hate that keeps growing like a virus.

Also how sometimes people for a little validation end up facing so much abuse. Abuse can ruin one's understanding of what's right and wrong entirely.

The desire to be famous is so tragic, it steals all the peace and sanity from one's life.

need taylor and jack to take a musical soulmates break so bad. if i have to hear another synth heavy taylor song again, lord help me.

honestly at this point it’s not even the synths for me with this, i think the thing i’m having to figure out for myself is why every single song with very few exceptions feels like it has twice as many words as it needs to and that in turn makes them literally not pleasing to listen to. like to my ears they feel like when you write a letter and then turn the page upside down and write in between the lines to save paper like i can’t even parse anything bc the production is soooo monotonous and is just trying to hold up songs that feel like they have too many words! and the ones i can pick out i don’t really like! anyways. we’ll see if this is an audio processing disorder or just a creative choice i don’t personally like very much. will try again tomorrow.

I’m gonna conclude this department meeting by saying:

Taylor and Jack need to take a musical break from each other because it seems like they’ve gotten too comfortable together in the studio and aren’t challenging each other anymore. Also Aaron Dessner is a king, a saint, an angel, and the best thing to happen to Taylor’s music.

The thing that is striking me the most about this album is just how messy and human it is. She’s not holding anything back or trying to appear one way or another. She’s just letting it all out regardless of what anyone might say. She found that trying to be polished and keep all the ugly, imperfect, human stuff in to be stifling and just said fuck it I need to do this for me. This album was an exorcism for her.
