Welcome to Second Life, a podcast spotlighting successful women who've made major career changes—and fearlessly mastered the pivot. Hosted by Hillary Kerr, co-founder and chief content officer at Who What Wear, each episode will give you a direct line to women who are game changers in their fields. Subscribe to Second Life on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or anywhere else you listen to stay tuned. Alison Cayne wants you to do your homework. After having five kids in eight years, going back to school to get a master’s degree in food studies, and founding Haven’s Kitchen (a multi-vertical culinary business—cooking school, café, and event space plus  a line of all-natural refrigerated sauces), you could say she knows how to get shit done. And while hearing her life story will no doubt leave you questioning any personal narrative that’s been stunting your own professional growth, her realistic advice is equally as refreshing. “I’ve sort of leaned into my 48-year-old female self, and I think that we approach things just a little differently… as opposed to, you know, I’ve got a dream, and I’m going for a $10 million valuation,” she tells Hillary Kerr in this week’s episode of Second Life. Growing up as an only child in New York, Cayne craved a togetherness that seemed to be lacking. By the age of eight, she discovered the power cooking had in creating a sense of community, and by the time she had her first child at 22, cooking was part of the gig she found comfort and familiarity in. Looking around at her friends, however, she couldn’t necessarily say the same. She realized how much “fear and loathing around the kitchen” there seemed to be, and so Cayne took it upon herself to demystify cooking, teaching classes from her home. “I taught all the way through having one and then two and then five kids,” she says. Though she wasn't comfortable charging for the classes (imposter syndrome, is it you?), through hosting them, Cayne gained an understanding of the roadblocks that made cooking intimidating for so many—knowledge that would prove invaluable in her career to come. At 38, with her youngest off to nursery school, Cayne decided to enroll in NYU's Food Studies program. She was ready to get rid of an old idea she had of herself—that she wasn't a professional go-getter. During her first semester, she was advised to get an internship, "which I just sort of guffawed at," she admits, but found an open position as the head of the education station at the Union Square Green Market, giving school tours about farming practices, agriculture, and sustainability. By the time she received her master’s degree, Cayne had created a professional mission to change the way people feel about cooking, and she set out to find a space where she could bring the home cooking classes and sustainability education she had been teaching at the Green Market together under one roof. When she found a carriage house two blocks from the farmers market, her vision immediately expanded as she pictured a café in front, classes in the back, and a bar on the second floor. “I figured if there was ever a time to invest in myself, this was it,” she says. And so, in 2012, the first iteration of Haven’s Kitchen was born. After tinkering with the business model—adjusting the number of cooking classes offered, rethinking the retail assortment in the café, and realizing the immense potential as an event space—Haven’s Kitchen has become a well-oiled machine. Since opening their doors in 2012, the team has taught over 10,000 classes, planned over 300 unique weddings, and hosted over one million guests and students. Still, in 2018, Cayne went back to the mission of changing the way people feel about cooking, and felt she could do more to fulfill it, “and that's why we started, you know, the CPG part,” she says casually. Cayne laughs when she uses jargony words like “scalable,” but scale was what she needed if she was going to continue working toward her lofty mission. With a focus group of cooking students to consult every night, she came to the hypothesis that by creating high-quality, all-natural condiments—think peppery romesco and bright chimichurri—she could provide more home cooks with a sense of excitement and confidence in the kitchen. To test the idea, she brought her initial assortment of sauces to New York’s Fancy Food Show. Within the hour, the Whole Foods and Fresh Direct buyer were at her table asking about case count and distribution. Today, Haven’s Kitchen Sauces are in close to 1000 retailers. Tune in to this week's episode of Second Life to hear how Cayne is building an impressive culinary brand and powerhouse career with skills she learned from her first life as a mom of five. And to shop your new favorite condiments, keep scrolling. Next up, hear how Shelley Gibbs Sanders created a new kind of fine-jewelry experience.

Feel free to disagree with me (which I don't think you will), but Elsa Hosk is one of the most stylish models of our time. So when I spotted a style Q&A on her Instagram Stories last week, I admittedly watched it several times. There were lots of gems to take in (and don't worry—she saved it in her highlights), but the one that caught my eye was her response when someone asked what her favorite color to dress in was. Her response was pink and purple, and she had plenty of photos of herself wearing the combination to back it up. During these times, doing little things to cheer yourself up is certainly a good idea, and I don't know about you, but wearing the pretty combination of pink and purple does that for me. (Plus, it works with loungewear too, as Hosk displays below.) Keep scrolling to shop the Elsa Hosk–approved color trend that I think you're going to start seeing a lot more. Next up, seven color trends that instantly boost your mood .

You might have noticed that we do a lot of stories based on customer reviews. From five-star drugstore dry shampoos  to the best-reviewed items at Urban Outfitters , we do these roundups because it's always helpful to see what shoppers are saying before you take the plunge. However, this time around, I'm taking a different approach. You may know about über-popular items like Levi's skinny jeans with over 11,000 reviews on Amazon or Zella leggings that boast over 6000 Nordstrom reviews. But what are the next cult-favorite items? That's what I'm about to predict. These newer arrivals or trending items don't have thousands of reviews yet, but I predict that these items below will be the next big things. In due time, they will be cult favorites—just watch. Scroll down to shop my predictions about the next cult-favorite pieces at Nordstrom. Tie-dye hoodies and sweatpants are all over Instagram and TikTok right now. Of all the options at Nordstrom, this is mt #1 pick because of its reasonable price and subtle pastel colors. I browsed through every single trench coat on Nordstrom's website, and I believe this one is the ideal combination of style and affordability. I'm in love with the light khaki color and sleek shape. Since we're in the middle of the rainy season, I think this coat will become a customer favorite in no time. Madewell items consistently have outstanding reviews on Nordstrom's website, so it's only a matter of time before everyone catches on to this light jacket that's perfect for transitional weather. Due to the current demand for comfy-yet-cute clothes for staying at home, I predict this adorable embroidered sweater—which our own Allyson Payer owns—will become a cult-favorite in no time. Honeydew Intimates is a top-rated lingerie brand at Nordstrom. This is its newest bra design, and I can tell that it's going to be a best-seller. The fabric is ultra-soft, the straps are comfortable, and the lilac color is very on-trend. When it gets too hot for sweatpants, these pastel $26 shorts are the next best thing. With many people staying home more than ever, the demand for comfy loungewear has certainly increased. This satiny top is as comfortable as your favorite T-shirt, but 10 times chicer. This new thong by Natori is bound to become just as popular as the brand's Natori's Feathers Underwire Contour Bra, which takes the title of Nordstrom's most-reviewed bra and is a consistent best-seller. As the only multi-brand retailer to carry Kim Kardashian West's brand Skims, Nordstrom is at an advantage to attract her many, many fans with the brand's new arrivals. I've tested out this bralette and can confirm that it's ultra-comfortable and barely noticeable after wearing it all day long. Leave it to Kim Kardashian West to convince ladies that we need a pair of boxers. As the weather warms up, these will be the perfect thing to wear to bed and around the house. Gold chain necklaces are a trend that has major staying power, and you can't go wrong with a chic $25 interpretation. These old-school sneakers are seeing quite the resurgence lately, with everyone from Rosie Huntington-Whiteley to fashion editors wearing them nonstop. Fact: Staud knows how to make a mean It bag. This latest addition is sure to become Instagram famous in no time. Ask any fashion girl about her favorite shoe brand, and By FAR is guaranteed to come up repeatedly. The brand's newest design is wearable thanks to the kitten heel, but the snakeskin print and square toe lend the shoes a cool edge. Nike still dominates when it comes to highly anticipated sneaker launches, and I predict these high-tops will be no exception. This satiny dress looks much more expensive than it really is. It's just the kind of fun purchase that makes me excited about warm weather. Ganni has a reputation for selling extremely well, and fashion girls clamor to buy new arrivals every season. I think this pistachio beauty will quickly become an It item because of its statement sleeves and on-trend pastel color. This is another pretty floral dress that looks like it could be by a luxury designer. (Brock Collection, anyone?) ASTR the Label is a highly rated brand at Nordstrom, and this new dress will certainly attract fans. I know a good deal when I see one, and this on-sale Topshop dress is definitely one. It has me dreaming of summer picnics. This already-popular Halogen dress has just been released in this new polka-dot colorway, and I think it will sell like hotcakes because of its easy-to-wear shape and modest silhouette that works for nearly every occasion under the sun. I think this jumpsuit can become a cult-favorite because it's a super-easy one-and-done outfit that's comfortable yet stylish. Plus, it already has Instagram fans like Tamara Mory, as seen above. Wit & Wisdom's jeggings have an impressive 600 reviews on Nordstrom's website, so it's only a matter of time before the brand's newest jeans climb up the rankings as well. Nothing says warm weather like white jeans, right? Madewell is consistently a top-seller at Nordstrom and I have a strong feeling that these denim shorts will be the brand's next hit. Everyone already trusts Madewell's quality and fit, and these white shorts are the perfect canvas for showing off cute summery tops. Next, six affordable brands that don't suck at being green .

Before we jump in, let me just mention that I’m an avid skinny-jean wearer. That said, I get that there are some of you out there that prefer other styles or are simply up for trying something new rather than those tried-and-true skinnies. Well, if that’s the case, what’s coming at you below will be of utmost interest. (P.S., If you still want skinny-jean outfit ideas, may I also direct you to this piece ?) Even though many of us aren’t wearing jeans right now (rather joggers and the like), I thought I’d round up some denim silhouettes that have the same sleek vibe as skinnies but aren’t standard blue or black skinny jeans. To see more, keep scrolling to check out some previous fashion-girl imagery featuring the cool denim trends worth noting. And if something catches your eye, you’ll also find product recommendations if you are shopping at the moment. Think of slim-straight jeans as the cousin to skinny jeans. This particular style has similar qualities to skinnies but are just a bit roomier. We’re all about a slightly cropped pick to show off spring and summer shoes. If you still want to lean into the skinny-jean look (hey, I don’t blame you), try an alternative to the classic black and blue pairs with a coated style for something different. If you haven’t tried flared jeans yet, it may be time to give them a shot. While there are extra-wide silhouettes, the more tailored cuts are more in line with a cool skinny-jean vibe. The fashion crowd continues to embrace white denim—particularly in straight-leg cuts—to bring a fresh and modern twist to their 2020 ensembles. Similar to the idea of white jeans above, a pair of straight-leg jeans in a colorful hue is quite the departure from blue skinny jeans but are just as chic this season. Next, check out the fashionable items women over 40 wear with jeans .

Choose wisely.Hair ties are kind of the unsung MVPs of our beauty routines right now, and call me high-maintenance, but my wardrobe of pony-securing scrunchies, binders, and bobbles is way more extensive than many might deem necessary. (I'm also that girl who has three different types of hair ties on my wrist at all times and an additional three thrown into my purse, gym bag, and bedside drawer.) At first, I purely attributed this to my obsession with ponytails. I have no patience for styling, I work out every day, and I also nervous-touch my hair, so it needs to be up and out of the way so I don't seriously annoy anyone in the same vicinity as me. But then, after consulting my fellow beauty editor Courtney Higgs, my mom (who has short, thin hair), my niece (who has long, extremely curly hair), and a few friends, I realized this is actually pretty normal behavior. Some hair ties are best suited for lounging, masking, and sleeping, while some are far more appropriate for that intense at-home HIIT workout or whatever extravagant updo you feel like experimenting with in front of your vanity. (Hopefully, we'll perfect said style in time for whenever it is we're allowed to frequent our favorite restaurants and other extracurriculars again.) Plus, one of the first questions hairstylists and colorists ask me is what kind of hair tie I use. Turns out the variety you pick can also have a major impact on the state of your strands. Since hair texture, hair length, and hair thickness needs to be taken into account, I created six different categories of "best hair ties" so Courtney and I could fill in the blanks with our favorites. As someone who's dabbled in bleach and extensions, I've had hair that's about half as thick and long as it is currently, and Courtney has also had her fair share of hair looks. (For instance, when I first met her, she had waist-length braids.) Curious to know which hair ties beauty editors deem "the best" for practically every kind of pulled-back strand scenario? Keep scrolling! Below, we're each sharing the six we love most. These spiral hair ties are my go-to for any pulled-back hairstyle. I love that they put way less tension on my strands, even when I wrap them super tightly. These stretchy ribbon hair ties are my favorite for working out. They’re not the best for ultra-thick or curly hair, but they’re wide and smooth so they don’t cause any damage by snagging or over-extending the hair. I usually wrap my hair with a silk scarf at night and don’t always secure my hair with a hair tie, but when I do, this is the only one I’ll use. My 4c hair is thick, but my individual strands are actually super fine and delicate, so I only like sleep in hair ties that are ultra-gentle and won’t cause any friction or breakage. I’ve been using these no-frills elastics for as long as I can remember. They’re stretchy and strong and can secure any hair texture into loose or tight ponytails. Once they’re in place, they’re not going anywhere. These bungee-hook hair ties are genius. You can use them to create several different degrees of tautness, and since they’re not bulky, you can easily hide them in your hair! This is my favorite scrunchie of all time. At first glance, it looks kind of wild, but it’s the perfect accessory for making a basic high bun look like I spent more than two minutes on it. I definitely need a “real” hair tie to keep my super-thick hair in place, but this fun scrunchie is the perfect finishing touch. Yes, they're boring, but these skinny ouchless hair ties from Goody are by far my most-used hair accessory. I've been told by pretty much every hairstylist that even though my texture is fine, I have a lot of hair. These keep everything in place but feel a little better on my hair than super-thick ties. Plus, they have the perfect amount of stretch for me, and I like that they have different color options. I love the blonde for some extra camouflage! I only wear ouchless hair ties, but sometimes they're not the best for keeping a ponytail in place during a strenuous workout. (Plus, they can stretch out.) These are specifically designed NOT to stretch out, last roughly three times longer than your average hair tie, have a strategic bead that prevents the tie from snapping (especially important during a workout), and, thanks to the bumpy shape, don't migrate down your strands. If I tie my hair up with these pre-run, I don't have to re-tighten or shift my pony even once. I'm definitely team silk scrunchie for sleeping, but I prefer Slip's skinnier scrunchies to the thicker ones, which usually slide off my hair by morning. The smaller size keeps the bun at the top of my head in place, my style preserved, and never crease. Plus, they're pretty, and I'm usually wearing one around my wrist as well. I'm obsessed with these hair ties, and I happen to think they're one of the best options on the market for so many reasons. Even though they come in additional colors and thickness options, I like these "Any-Fit" ones which the brand touts as universal for most hair types. The hold is super dependable despite how soft and easy they are on fragile strands. I've never experienced any slipping, snagging, or creasing. These tiny, clear elastics are classic and pretty much the only thing I use for more complicated hair looks, braids, or any time I need my hair tie to not show. (Celebrity hairstylists also always have them in their kits.) Plus, they're grippy, don't snag, and have really great stick so your style doesn't move. I mean, do I even have to explain this one? Never have I ever seen a prettier scrunchie, and it's one of those beauty items (despite being an admittedly jaded editor) that truly make me feel happier the second I wear it. Lizzo is also a fan, so there's that. I have the gold iteration that's no longer available, but this silver one is the one Lizzo has worn on stage. "I do really love my extensive collection of Invisibobbles, but for whatever reason, they didn't make my list. (I guess l like how they look and they do a pretty good job of keeping my hair in place, but they're not my absolute "favorite" for any of the categories listed above.) That said, these are always in close proximity, and I find they're a good option for slower-paced workouts like barre, yoga, or Pilates." — Erin "These soft scrunchies from Kitsch are always on my vanity and for bedtime. It's either these or the ones I talked about above from Slip. These are a really great option if you find silk hair ties too slippery for your hair—even if you're just sleeping. Since they have some texture to them thanks to the pretty velvet and faux-suede material, they can grip on and stay in place a bit better if you're like me and toss and turn all night. (Plus, they won't crease your hair and are pretty!)" — Erin "This hair tie is like my middle ground between a heavy-duty workout option and my normal day-to-day hair tie. I didn't use these when my hair was shorter and thinner (due to how thick they are), but now that my hair has gotten healthier and longer, I've found I almost always have one around my wrist or on my key ring. (I warned you that I'm that girl!) Also, neon options make me happy.” — Erin . Up next: How to Get Bella Hadid's Favorite Lived-In Waves by Just Braiding Your Hair

Although it might not feel like it due to the circumstances surrounding coronavirus, summer and all the cute clothing that comes along with it is right around the corner. If you've been keeping up with any of my articles throughout this pandemic, you know that I am taking a stance of optimism and complete hopefulness as it relates to this crisis. That includes my continuation of all sartorial content, including what clothing I am considering buying for summer—whether I will be spending it at the beach or in my home. Since budgeting is definitely a priority for me at this time, I wanted to curate a list of summer basics that anyone can score on the cheap . The best thing about basics is that they are versatile pretty much by definition. So buying basics on the cheap means you really are getting the most for your money. Including tank tops starting at just $8 and stunning summer dresses you can wear with anything, the below assortment of summertime basics are truly the best and are honestly getting me excited for outdoor days ahead, whenever that may be. Summer without tank tops would be like winter without a coat. It just doesn't make sense. Luckily, since this will probably be one of your most-worn basic of the bunch, they are also the most affordable. Whether you're quickly stepping outside to run errands (whatever those may be right now) or need a pair of shoes to walk around your backyard in (let's hope our circumstances change soon), an affordable pair of slides that still look polished will be beneficial time and time again. If you ask me, the flowier the midi dress, the better. This way, no matter what the temperature, you won't be constricted by the garment on your back. This dress style also doubles as a great swimsuit coverup. Jean shorts are basically the leggings of summer… just not as comfortable (you get the idea). No matter which length you prefer, this summertime basic is one you can get on the cheap, and the selection below proves it. Hot summertime tip: Buy a black one-piece that you love and wear it not only as a swimsuit, but also as a bodysuit with all of your jeans, skirts, and more. In case you find yourself itching for footwear that's a tad more formal-feeling, a simple strappy heeled sandal will do just the trick. From block heels to kitten, this shoe style will be another major go-to. If you're anything like me, you lose sunglasses left and right. This means buying cheap pairs is probably your best bet. Here are some of my favorites right now: My fingers are crossed so hard that we will be able to go to the beach at some point this summer, and if that is the case, a large woven tote bag is in order. This way, you'll be able to tote all of your beach and picnic goodies (again, fingers crossed) in style. Last but not least is a personal favorite summertime basic of mine: the oversize button-down. I usually wear these untucked with my jorts or open over a swimsuit, and I think you should too. Next up, shop the seven wardrobe classics our editors have been wearing on repeat.

During times of uncertainty, or any time really, I’ve always found comfort in a manicure—as vapid as that sounds. While it will be a minute before we hear the soothing words “pick a color,” there’s no reason to let go of the small habits that cultivate joy or the self-care routines that keep us sane in an unprecedented time. So ahead, courtesy of our readers, I’ve rounded up the easiest manicure variations you can re-create at home: mismatched nail colors. Sure, it’s not groundbreaking or as important as what’s happening in the world, but for those of us craving the rush of choosing a color, or those of us struggling with social distancing , this small beauty routine can be a little pick-me-up. Keep reading for 11 different ways you can get creative with your nails and why our readers swear by this manicure trend . For those of you who are new to mismatched nails, may we suggest taking a cue from reader Lyndee and trying one nail first? As she told us, “I love the mismatched nail trend because it takes the fun of expressing your personal style to another level. You can add all the colors and sparkle you want to your manicure, just like you layer on your favorite pieces of jewelry or clothing.” So whether you opt for one nail or all the nails, this trend is easy to adopt. The perfect purple. Glitter—yes, please! Another way to embrace the mismatched nail trend is by painting only the tips, like Lauren’s pastel mismatch French manicure. She explained, “Mismatched manicures are a way to stand out and express yourself! Show your creativity and originality! They also inspire me to build outfits around them.” Invest in your polish collection. Great for creating French tips. When it comes to adopting mismatched nail colors, let Nnena’s approach inspire you. “I often experiment with colors and patterns based on the clothes I wear or from paintings. The more you wear mismatched nail colors, you learn over time what goes together, like primary colors, for example,” she says. The perfect red for this look. Sunshine is a bottle away. Now *this* is a nail color. Reader Christina puts it best, noting, “As someone with a colorful style, a standard mani doesn’t always do it for me.” Sound like you too? Copy Christina and elevate your at-home mani by playing with shades of green and add a pop of glitter polish to create a mani anyone would be envious of. Green glitter for spring? Groundbreaking. The freshest mint polish there ever was. It doesn't get more spring-appropriate than this polish. Another reason mismatched nails are where it’s at? As Sarah told us, “I love mismatched nails because I can never decide on just one color—too much of a commitment. It allows me to wear all my favorite colors at once.” So if you're feeling blue, own it, and paint those nails every single shade. Blue velvet but for nails... Baby blue? Layer it on. Finish off your DIY mani with this perfect blue hue. Let me clear the air: Mismatched nail colors don’t have to be overly bold. As reader Sharin told us, “I used these colors together because I believe earth tones are rich and warm.” And if you’re not one to opt for bright colors, any array of mismatched-but-complementary earth tones is the perfect way to celebrate this beauty trend on your terms. Orange you glad you picked this polish? You will be. Need to strengthen your nails? Apply this before painting on your mismatched mani. Reader Elif proclaims, “Sometimes I feel like I can't commit to one single color and just want to have a mani as colorful as possible—and for that, I love going for a rainbow mani!” But it doesn’t have to be the cliché rainbow colors. Llike Elif, you can layer on the pastel polishes to create the perfect bright mismatched manicure. This pastel set will do you wonders. This tool will make your at-home manicure more polished. When in doubt, the best way to embrace the mismatched nail trend is by going nude, and reader Samira agrees. She explains, “I love a good neutral, mismatched mani because it’s fun and different yet still minimal and chic.” Just choose your go-to shades of beige and beyond, and your nails will be looking equally as chic. Nude polishes are an essential for any collection. Get the salon look with these tools. Your shades of nude don’t have to be fully beige. Reader Britt demonstrates that you can not only mismatch your nail colors, but you can also play with adding mismatched designs and details to take your mani to the next level. Every polish arsenal needs a good white shade. Don't be afraid of a bold black polish. Take your DIY manicure to the next level with this kit that includes detailing pen brushes and rhinestones. Not sold on mismatched nails yet? Can we introduce you to mismatched stickers? Whether you opt for one single nail color (like above) or multiple, adding mismatched stickers is a fun way to approach this trend. And as reader Monica says, “Something about wearing multiple shades or stickers gives your nails an imperfect yet cool and effortless look.” Stick on a little joy. Who wouldn't smile wearing this color? You’ve made it this far, so chances are you are into the idea of mismatched nails. Just remember that it’s all about embracing the rainbow on your own terms. As reader Hannah explained to us, “Isolation has given me a lot of extra time to play around with my nails. I love playing with shades. The visible-underwear trend just won’t quit. We’ve been tracking it for almost a year now with nary a celeb that hasn’t tried the look, including Kim Kardashian West,  J.Lo , Bella Hadid, Emily Ratajkowski, and Hailey Bieber . And since we’re spending a lot more time at home in cozy clothes right now, it was only a matter of time until the provocative look came for your loungewear. Thankfully, this iteration seems to put a premium on comfort, as thongs have been largely swapped for high-waisted underwear, “granny” panties , and logo briefs. Cut to the ’80s sweatpants trend that has conveniently come back in style, and you’ve got a pairing that’s quickly taking over Instagram. As for which underwear brands are taking the spotlight, we weren’t surprised to spot Kim Kardashian West sporting her Skims line paired with sweatpants, and we’ve seen quite a few snaps featuring the Gen-Z underwear disruptor, Parade. We tapped Parade’s cofounder, Cami Tellez, to share her take on the underwear as an accessory phenomenon. “We really believe in the power of color to be therapeutic: a bright pair of underwear during a time like this one can uplift. Personally, it’s been so exciting to see our greater community embrace WFH and Zoom conference calls with playfulness and joy,” said the entrepreneur. We also likely saw a boost in visible underwear imagery since Parade launched an initiative called #paradetogether, which donates $1 to Feeding America for every photo of you in your underwear (Parade or not). Naturally, some of the classic logo underwear, such as Calvin Klein has been a big hit, too, and we’re just waiting for someone to re-create the nostalgic look of visible Tommy Hilfiger underwear à la ’90s Aaliyah. With that, we’ll leave you to scroll through some of the best underwear-and-sweatpants combos we’ve seen yet. Consider us convinced. We’re purchasing this ribbed set stat. The Parade panty party is one you want to get in on—trust us. A all neutral tones look is an elevated way to try the trend. Nothing says Gen-Z like a gothic font. Here’s the Calvin Klein inspo you were waiting for. A splash of mint green adds a bit of joy to this cozy look. If showing off your underthings isn’t quite your speed, you can get the same effect with a layered bike-shorts–and-sweatpants combo. Alternatively, double-layered sweatpants are an expert-level move. Hot tip: Enjoy 20% off these Les Tien sweatpants with code SPRING20. Looking for more inspiration on how to style sweatpants? We’ve got you.

Another day, another pair of sweats. Anyone else feel me? It's been a month since I've been working from home due to the current pandemic circumstances , and while my daily uniform consists mostly of elastic waists, stretchy fabrics, and cozy sweats —which have undeniably been super comforting—I'd be lying if I said that I'm not feeling a smidgen of sweatpants fatigue right about now. So in an effort to emerge myself out of a terry-fleece–induced rut, I've decided to add some lightweight and casual dresses into my daily rotation instead—just as comfortable, and perfect for a day filled with Zoom meetings . Moreover, they're perfect for the warmer temps just around the corner (let's not forget it's nearly summer, friends!). Today, I'm sharing some of my favorite long casual dresses —one of the most popular dress styles of 2020 . From billowy maxi dresses to non-restrictive midis, pair these laid-back and relaxed picks with your favorite sneakers, sandals, and slippers this season. Easy and breezy. Tiered dresses are trending. This color is Zoom meeting–approved. A great day-to-night option when quarantine is over. Just add lace up sandals. Guaranteed to put you in a good mood. A welcome upgrade to your LWD collection. Wear with sneakers and sandals alike. A pretty pastel hue for spring. Effortlessly cool. Because summer days are just around the corner. Cheery florals are always a good idea. Ultra versatile. A nightie meets day dress. So ideal! Polka dots are everywhere for spring and summer. You can't go wrong with the price. Get in the summertime spirit. We want to live in this airy frock. The smock detail is super flattering. For your virtual happy hour. We'll never say no to puff sleeves. Just add your favorite white sneakers. The prettiest silhouette. Putting a spring pep in our step. Guaranteed to brighten up your day. A carefree dress is just what we need right now. Insta-worthy. Up next, 25 casual summer dresses I find myself daydreaming about wearing .

As a remote editor who's been working from home since 2015, I have to admit that I've gotten pretty lazy with my WFH wardrobe (as in sweats and slippers on most days). Until now, that is. Once most of the country went under a stay-at-home order last month for the foreseeable future, everyone started talking about WFH style, Zoom calls became a thing, and I realized it was time to snap out of my house-wardrobe funk. Given the lack of celebrity street style these days, I've been very curious to see what they're wearing at home, and one of the celebs that I've found to excel at the whole stay-home-dressing thing is Emma Roberts . She has been documenting her looks daily on Instagram, and each one is even better than the last. So who better to give me some WFH wardrobe upgrade tips than her stylists, Brit Elkin Hines and Kara Smith? I asked the stylists everything from who makes the best house shoes to what to swap a full sweatsuit for in the summer. Read on to find out what useful advice they had for me and what they suggested I shop for (along with some Emma Roberts WFH style inspiration sprinkled in). I've been working from home remotely for 4.5 years, and my typical WFH uniform has always been a T-shirt or sweatshirt/sweater and jogger pants or stretchy jeans. What can I do/wear/buy to make it a little more exciting? There’s so much you can do to spruce up a WFH uniform. Luckily, there are a lot of very cute, chic loungewear brands out there right now that will make you feel put together and elevated so that you don't have to sacrifice comfort for style. Depending on what kind of WFH style you prefer, you can choose between elevated pajamas, effortless dresses, or chic top-and-bottom sets. Find which style you are most, and start ordering some staples. Or mix it up and purchase several staples from each WFH style so that you never get bored. We listed our favorite WFH brands below that will make you feel both comfortable and chic. Since wearing a full sweatsuit isn't very practical in the summer, what's a good alternative? Silk or cotton flowy dresses that don’t have a lot of hardware and are comfortable, chic, and practical. Brands like Dôen  and Ulla Johnson  are a couple of favorites that I could easily live in and have as a WFH uniform, especially in the summer. Sleeper  also has fashionable pajamas and dresses in lightweight summer fabrics like linen, silk, and viscose so that you feel practical in summer and chic. If you happen to be full-sweatsuit kind of girl and don’t want to do dresses, opting for pants and tops that are thin is a good move. Leset  makes lightweight, comfortable sets in a range of cool colors and prints. Shop the matching Amber Striped Wide Leg Pants ($180). I'm a firm believer in having shoes that are just for the house. What styles do you think make the best house shoes? Love classic Ugg slippers for the house. Super-comfortable chic flats like Margaux  are also great if you want to feel less pajama-y and more put-together. Rothy's  are also a great option—sustainable, very comfortable, and lots of colors and prints to choose from. Lastly, I love good old Birkenstocks paired with designer socks (Gucci socks are our fave)— easy to slip on and off and the designer socks give you a bit of flair. Gucci slides are also great house shoes. I love accessories, but I very rarely wear them at home. What are some cool, practical ones to incorporate into my inside outfits? We are big fans of Jenny Bird for everyday home wear—not only because it’s a great price point but also because her pieces are modern and cool and range from delicate to statement. Some favorite at-home pieces of hers that we wear as staples (and that help spruce up an outfit) are the Large Gold Icon Hoops (which also come in small and medium sizes) and her Gold Dee Signet Ring. We also love Dannijo for some everyday jewelry. Injecting some color and playfulness into WFH outfits makes you feel happier. Their colorful beaded/braided bracelets are super cute to layer. During this time especially, we think everyone needs a little good luck, and there’s no better necklace than Jennifer Meyer’s 18-karat Good Luck Charm Necklace. Lastly, we love Jacquie Aiche turquoise necklaces and rings for some luxe hippie feels. What are the biggest WFH outfit mistakes you see on Instagram? The biggest WFH outfit mistake is sacrificing comfort for style, e.g., wearing things like tight, non-stretch denim; outfits with lots of hardware (zippers, buttons)—so restrictive. Feeling comfortable is most important when you’re at home, and not compromising style is the key.  The act of putting on an outfit in the morning when you WFH is important because it lifts your mood and makes you feel more motivated. Nothing is wrong with adding a little lip color either. How can I make some of my favorite "outside" clothes (like spring dresses and skirts) more "inside" appropriate? Making outside clothes inside appropriate is easy by switching up the shoes (opting for comfortable flats or slides) or swapping out the top/bottom for more at-home pieces. If you have a skirt or dress, style it with an oversize cozy sweater. If you have a cute top, style it with a pair of cashmere pants. Mixing comfortable at-home elements makes those outside pieces inside appropriate. What are some of the brands you love for chic WFH pieces? Leset Sleeper Live the Process FreeCity NakedCashmere Free People Dôen Ulla Johnson Cotton Citizen Jenny Bird Jewelry Dannijo Jennifer Meyer Jewelry Ugg Margaux Rothy's Birkenstock Gucci Next up, 29 cute and cheap accessories to dress up WFH clothes .

Opt for one of the sleek sneakers with your favorite pair of jeans or go for a chunkier style if you're feeling bold. I personally love the routine of putting on makeup and have fun taking my time to thoroughly prep my skin, experiment with new shades of eye shadow, and test out a buzzed-about product to see if it lives up to the hype. Carving out that time leaves me room for some fun and experimentation, but oftentimes, I find myself in a rush to do easy makeup in the morning, so I’ve got my everyday makeup routine down to just five minutes with a few simple products. A look that focuses on fresh skin and natural colors, it’s quick to do in the morning but makes me feel pulled together when I have conference calls on the calendar. Curious to find out the easy makeup routines of Who What Wear editors, I asked them to share their favorite looks that can be achieved in under five minutes. Scroll on to see the beauty products they swear by, beginning with my favorites. When it comes to easy makeup, I typically go for a look that feels fresh and natural. Skin is where I always start. Pat McGrath's buildable foundation  is my everyday staple, and one of my favorite things about it is how well it photographs. This photo has zero retouching or filters, so you can see how amazing the finish is. While I usually wear a fresh pink lipstick, lately I've been into a more muted '90s lip. I actually ran out of my Charlotte Tilbury lipstick, so I've been using the Pillow Talk lip liner in its place with a touch of lip balm to smooth it out. And no matter how little makeup I put on, this Chanel blush is essential for me because it lends some shape and color to my face. To finish my easy makeup, I always add this super-inky black mascara from Dior . My eyelashes are light, so mascara is pretty much my best friend in the beauty world. "I'm the type of person who's either completely bare-faced or has a full face of makeup. That said, if I'm in a hurry or on the rare occasion that I do want something more minimal, my routine involves the following essentials: a concealer pen, tinted lip balm, clear brow gel, lengthening mascara, creamy blush, and if I'm feeling fancy, maybe  a tinted face serum or a highlighting wand. Ilia's new SPF-spiked serum  is bottled magic and pretty much erases any discoloration or spot right before my eyes. I reach for concealer pens because they're usually more of a liquid consistency, which makes them easy and fast to blend out while still delivering a sheer, natural, and dewy finish. YSL's cult pick  and Clé de Peau Beauté's skincare-infused formula  are the two I always have on standby. Glossier makes the absolute best mascara  for long, fluttery lashes, but if I want some extra volume, I'll reach for Chanel's Le Volume formula instead . For blush and highlight, it's always something from Kosas  or Charlotte Tilbury , and my favorite tinted lip balm  ever is from Tata Harper. It goes on so smooth, has a subtle shine, and gives your lips the prettiest punch of raspberry color." "This look is so easy to achieve and looks insanely cool. I'm a cat-eye girl, and this is kind of an extension of that and takes no time at all. I just trace my lash line with a vibrant liner, extend the wing beyond the corner of my eyes, and then bring the line just above my crease to create negative space. It's subtle but still brings the drama, so I keep the rest of my makeup very chill with brow gel, mascara, and a nude lip gloss." "I never do eye makeup other than mascara, so my go-to look is a statement lip. Call me boring, but I exclusively wear reds and pinks on my lips (same with nail polish). Here, I'm wearing Rogue Coco Lipstick in Corail Vibrant . Other than that, I just used my holy-grail concealer, Nars Creamy Radiant Concealer , and a few swipes of Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara ." "When it comes to my everyday makeup routine, I’m not too fussy. (Read: I’m lazy.) Plus, I never leave enough time to get ready in the mornings, so I’m always trying to beat the clock. After washing my face, I put on moisturizer and sunscreen. Next, I curl my eyelashes (this helps me look awake when I’m far from it) and put on mascara . I don’t wear foundation every day and prefer to dab concealer on the spots that need it. Then, I fill in my brows and put on some bronzer (to look even more awake). Lastly, I put on some lip color . This is where I can have a lot of fun: bold for days when I’ve got a big meeting and neutral for days when I’m just working on my laptop." “When I’m trying to do my makeup very quickly, I stick to products that I can apply with my fingers, so sheer foundation or tinted moisturizer , cream blush , and eye shadow all make the cut. The only actual tools I make time for are an eyelash curler and an eyebrow brush. I finish things off with a natural mascara, brow gel, and foolproof lip balm .” “When I want to create an easy makeup look in a short amount of time, I always start with one of my favorite products, the tinted face oil from Kosas . It’s the easiest all-in-one product to even out skin tone, hydrate, and create a nice glowy canvas. Using a brow pencil and brush is also a must, and I’ve been loving this duo from Oak and Fort for a natural, fluffy brow look. I never skip mascara, but if I have two extra minutes, I’ll do a subtle cat eye and finally apply a classic red lipstick to tie it all together.” Next, discover the fragrance no one is wearing anymore, according to a master perfumer .

Meghan Markle  and Prince Harry may not live in England full-time anymore, but they've always said that they will uphold their commitment to charitable endeavors even as non-royals . Now, they've proven just that with a new donation. As Town & Country reported , the couple has donated roughly £90,000, or about $112,000 in U.S. dollars, to the charity Feeding Britain . According to the organization's website, it is "running an emergency food program to protect children and their families from hunger" amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Feeding Britain is a crucial resource for low-income families to supplement meals while schools are closed. Per Town & Country , the donation amount came from the money that Meghan and Harry profited from the BBC's broadcast of their royal wedding back in May 2018. Suffice to say that their current life looks very different than it did back then, but we'll still be cheering them on every step of the way.
