『Bronzed』 por Carlos Ferran Por Flickr: The replacements have arrived. JR West announced in 2023 that the Yakumo services, operated by the JR 381 series, will be replaced with new trains. These new trains, dubbed the 273 series, will gradually replace the 381's on the Okayama to Yonago route starting in April 2024. Designed by Yasuyuki Kawanishi, the interior and exterior colors and design are meant to match the overall nature of the San'in region. The paint scheme is nicknamed "Yakumo Bronze" and is reported to vary in color depending on sunlight position. It may take some getting used to, but I'll admit, it looks pretty sharp. Here, a 4 car set crosses over the Takahashi River bridge in Takakuracho on a test run to Okayama, a few weeks before being put into service. Clockwork @ Tunnel de Hollogne por Maarten Schoubben Por Flickr: De fraaie "Clockwork" 186 423 is onderweg met een GATX keteltrein vanuit Duitsland naar Kluizendok-Noord in Gent. Wegens werkzaamheden op de normale route werd de trein omgeleid via de lijnen 40, 36a en 36. Aan de vertakking van Voroux moest eerst nog een andere trein passeren (lees een trage stoptrein)..... Zo werd er van de nood een deugd gemaakt en kon er een foto gemaakt worden in de “Tunnel de Hollogne”. Deze 720 meter lange tunnel loopt onder de luchthaven van Liège, en werd bij de uitbreiding van de luchthaven ook verlengd. 31806 Leaving Swanage por Nigel Stride Por Flickr: U class 2-6-0 31806 seen here leaving Swanage station on 8th September, with the 15:00 service to Norden. I along with many other photo togs had hoped to see 45596 "Bahamas" on its first visit to Swanage but the trip was cancelled last-minute. So, we had to make do with the local stock - not too much of a hardship !

Inaugural run of T3 Class 563 por Nigel Stride Por Flickr: Saturday 7th October 2023 saw the first public run in 75 years of LSWR T3 Class 563. In March 2017 the National Railway Museum generously gifted the sole surviving Adams’ designed engine to the Swanage Railway Trust and ever since day one the exciting ambition has been to return her to steam. After an extensive strip down and investigation at the Flour Mill workshop in the Forest of Dean, the engine was found to be in a surprisingly good mechanically overhauled condition by Eastleigh Works and although the firebox was life expired, as expected, the boiler barrel was also in an excellent condition with little corrosion inside or out. Pictured here at Dickers Crossing on a beautiful afternoon befitting the historic occasion.

Mecklenburgische Bäderbahn Molli bei Bad Doberan unterwegs por Christian Sacher Por Flickr: Auf der langen Geraden zwischen der Kreuzungsstation Rennbahn und dem Bad Doberaner Ortseingang ist 99 2321 im Schatten der sich von Bad Doberan nach Heiligendamm ziehenden Lindenallee unterwegs. On the long, straight railway line between the Rennbahn crossing station and the Bad Doberan town entrance, 99 2321 haules a train in the shadow of the avenue with linden trees that stretches from Bad Doberan to Heiligendamm.
