            [ THE DAUGHTER OF A WOLF ]

     1. Hugo was born out of an infidelity between a man of high standing and a woman of low birth. She was a third of his bastard children ; however, he was by no means a cruel man and genuinely loved the woman enough to care for her at his own home. Of course, the proper family wasn’t too fond of this ( and perfectly understandable ) so when he passed away during a round of severe illness, Hugo and her small family was thrown onto the street. Her mother, with no job, attempted to pick up prostitution to keep her family afloat, but died of disease within a matter of a year. By the time Hugo was six, starvation was an old friend ; to get by, she resorted to thieving, much to her other brothers’ chagrin. Eventually, in her vain attempt to steal from the stalls of the Notre-dame Cathedral, she got caught and was almost set to be punished before one of the clergymen made a case to adopt her and her siblings to be brought up knowing the Lord’s mercy.     2. Despite all the troubles in her life, Hugo is devoutly Catholic and resounds it all with an unshakable faith. She believes in God, but more importantly she believes in His Love, above all. In fact, she believes in it so much that one could say she believes God IS Love, and this can be shown in her own moral values of the world. She doesn’t hold to the exact same tenets as the Catholic faith in its entirety ; in her view, any pursuit of Love ( whether that be romantic, platonic, familial, or something bigger than one self like love of one’s faith or nation ) is a noble cause worthy to uphold. To feel Love or to have Love on any sort of level means you are on the path to which God intends for you to be on. As a result, she chooses to love the world and see all that which needs to be loved ; any sort of hatred or anger Hugo must feel will only be righteous in nature due to what she perceives as being a lack of Love.     3. Hugo is a justice - oriented spirit who’s not afraid to go above and beyond to achieve whatever sort of goodness she can bring. She believes in the wholeheartedness of Charity and Universal Love to the point where she would be willing to risk her life to see it be placed. She’s as kind to criminals as she is to innocents ; in fact, she loves sinners more than she loves saints. She’ll treat them with more ardent Charity to ensure they feel the same amount of graciousness as within her soul ; this isn’t to be the same as rehabilitation. Hugo thinks that knowing Love, whatever it may be, for even one second is better than travailing through the dark knowing only Cruelty. If she perceives any sort of injustice done by a perverse need to spread hatred, she’ll immediately fight back, and isn’t afraid above all to get physical in order to preserve what Love there is in the world.     4. For characters I can see her getting along with / interacting with : Kyouka ( Hugo has a soft spot for children, to the point where she spoils them and steals them food ), Firo ( maybe not fully in the long run, but they led similar lifestyles when they were young and have such different views now it’d be an interesting conversation ), Claire ( they’re both arrogant and overconfident, but Hugo’s a lot more like Maria so the relationship would mirror it ), Chikage ( these two seem like they’ll enjoy each other’s company for some reason ), and T.S. Eliot ( they’ve interacted a couple times before. Hugo’s brazen and more confident personality dragging Eliot along somewhere seems highly amusing to me ).

            [ THE MAD MECHANIC ]

     1. All here!     2. Graham has been dismantling things since he was a small child. It had gotten to the point where his parents would reprimand him, telling him that he shouldn’t take things apart without knowing how they would feel. After hearing this several times, Graham decided they were right … and proceeded to dislocate every bone in his body, in order to replicate being taken apart. His parents didn’t even know, until his mom heard him crying in the next room over. After this particular incident, having now known what it feels like to be dismantled, Graham proceeds to dismantle everything all the same.     3. Although he’s dangerous and rather violent, Graham won’t kill anyone. He states that taking a life fills him with an incredible amount of guilt, so he abstains from the practice. That being said, this isn’t really out of any good - will, and merely an act he just doesn’t find enjoyable. He’ll still be the kind of person to enjoy breaking every bone in your body, so you might as well wished he killed you anyway.     4. Graham only has interest in dismantling tangible objects ; anything else, such as bonds or emotions, something he can’t SEE or TOUCH, won’t elicit the same amount of enjoyment. Hency why he doesn’t take joy out of ending a human life.     5. Again, Graham’s a little hard to define in terms of people he’d get along with, but I think out of your muses he’d get along with Aoba ( Graham would find Aoba interesting, I think, just interesting ), Last Order ( her playful demeanor would inspire Graham’s own ; he seems to like cheerful people and i think she’d be capable of handling his insanity ), and Mii ( based off what i’ve heard of her, these two might hit it off given Graham’s love for impromptu monologues ; might inspire her a little, no? ). In terms of the Baccano! characters, Graham could easily get along with Firo ( albeit it’ll probably be one - sided ; “ a friend of boss ladd is a friend of mine! “ ) and seeing Graham interact with Maiza would be interesting, since I’ve never seen them interact in canon yet!
