Q. I thought that the emotional acting became deeper through this work. Have you ever felt like you, as an actor, have grown in your acting?
A. (Shaking head) I don't have any. I am a person focused on the field. That's why I tend to break down when I can't concentrate. Everyone says I'm being embarrassed (laughter), but when I go as Chaeok, I told not to talk to her because I have to concentrate. Once I do, I feel better. I don't know how far this concentration will go or how much focus I will have. I feel like I haven't been able to concentrate 100% yet, so I'm not satisfied with myself. I think I'll be satisfied if I focus because everything is in order, but I still feel like I'm not focused enough.
Q. Although she is wounded on the inside, she is a strong character on the outside. How did you try to understand and digest it?
A. The wound must have become dull. It's 10 years, but chasing that pain ultimately means carrying it with a very strong mind. So it can't be described as a wound. It ends with her promise, her determination to find her mother. So it doesn't matter if you are cut by a knife or risk your life. People with scars can't do that. A. It's concentration. It's not just about focusing on the actors when creating a work. Everyone on set, including the director, must do the same. I don't like to chat or joke before filming. It's okay once we've finished filming all the scenes, but I can't get excited before filming. This will probably be like this for the rest of my life.
Q. Looking at the works you've been doing, I think you've been doing a lot of heavy and serious characters.
A. Strangely, I only get characters that are opposite to my personality. I talk a lot, but my character is quiet. So, I want to try a character that matches my personality. I think Nabi in 'Nevertheless' was a bit similar, but her way of looking at men was completely wrong. Dakyung from ‘The World of the Married’ was also wrong.

Lately, I’ve been obsessed with the question, ‘What are emotions?’ What I read recently is '애도 일기 (Journal de Deuil).’ This book is a compilation of the memories the author recorded with her mother over the course of a year, like a diary, after her mother passed away. When reading this book, you can clearly feel the author's emotions. She said that people do not break down in an instant just because they lose someone they love. I live my daily life. Then, she breaks down when she receives a letter from her friend who lives across the river, saying, ‘I saw your mother the day before she died, and she was wearing her gray clothes.’ That one sentence made her come to terms with her mother's death. As I read, I thought about ‘time to accept emotions.’ The time we are aware of depression or sadness can be frighteningly long. So, even if you go through something and are okay now, you may not be okay two or three years from now. So shouldn’t we always doubt our feelings?
Q. What you just said is so cool. Looking closely at one's own emotional state is an essential attitude for everyone, including actors.

Q. I've heard of that before. For example, write down how many minutes it took for me to open my eyes and get out of bed this morning. When I'm depressed, the time gets longer.
It could be something like that. It could be something like how many times I made eye contact with people and smiled today. How was my day today, what did it feel like, what was the temperature, and how many things did I force myself to do today? Remembering these things is very helpful in living. When you're busy, you don't even realize that your mind is getting tired.

Q. While watching “I’ve Loved You for a Long Time,” you thought of something.
This is a story outside of movies, but I was worried that the number of people taking on the challenge of making such movies would gradually disappear. As science fiction and blockbuster movies become more and more dominant commercially, I worry that there will be no place for movies like “I’ve Loved You for a Long Time,” which make you feel heartbroken after watching them.
Q. Such stories often come up when interviewing filmmakers
I don't know the answer either. However, you won't be able to make a movie without thinking about consumers.
Q. That's right. What did you like best about the movie?
I loved Juliet's eyes, played by Kristin Scott Thomas. Even if she didn't say anything, the look in her eyes showed all the years she had gone through. Even if she was smiling, it felt like she was crying, and somehow her shadow felt darker than other people's. In fact, it may be a very unfriendly movie for some audiences.

I can say it's similar. I think it's easier to talk about it in a movie, and I like the movie when I feel crazy about something. For example, there are people who understand every scene logically while watching a movie, but for me, once I experience just one scene so strongly that it seems to pass through my body, I understand the intention of all other scenes. 〈I've Loved You for a Long Time〉 was like that, and Lars von Trier's 〈Melancholia〉 was also that kind of movie. It was a movie that I watched thinking, ‘What on earth are they trying to do?’, but after just one scene passed through me, I knew everything the director was trying to convey. Q. Is there a movie you want to recommend among the movies you've watched recently?
Among the ones I saw recently, I really liked “Detachment.” Adrien Brody plays the main character, a teacher. The movie clearly deals with a story about education. While watching this movie, I liked the message that ultimately you and I can change depending on education and environment. Here’s everything you need to know about the 1945-set Korean drama
Netflix’s upcoming K-drama Gyeongseong Creature mixes lush historical drama and mystery for a period piece you won’t forget when it debuts on Netflix in December.
Set in early 1945 when Korea was under Japanese colonial rule, the series centers around two young adults who encounter strange creatures born from greed, and then must battle for survival in the city of Gyeongseong — now known as Seoul. But it turns out, there may be something even more dangerous out there than the creatures themselves.
As part of Geeked Week 2023, stars Park Seojun and Han Sohee announced that the series will premiere in two parts in December and January 2024 on Netflix.
Gyeongseong Creature was written by Kang Eunkyung (Dr. Romantic, Kang Chi, The Beginning) and directed by Chung Dongyoon (Hot Stove League).
Who’s in the Gyeongseong Creature cast?
Park Seojun (Itaewon Class, What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim) plays Jang Taesang, the wealthiest man in Gyeongseong and the Master of the city’s biggest pawn shop. While Taesang is someone who puts money before justice, all that changes when he crosses paths with Yoon Chaeok while investigating a series of missing person cases.
Han Sohee (My Name, Nevertheless) plays Yoon Chaeok, a famous sleuth who can track down missing people, even ones who are dead. Chaeok possesses a sharp eye and agile survival skills learned from her rough childhood roaming across Manchuria and Shanghai with her father.
They’re joined by Claudia Kim (Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Marco Polo), Kim Haesook (The Thieves, Start-Up), Cho Hancheul (The Outlaws, Vicenzo), and Wi Hajun (Squid Game, Little Women).

Gyeongseong filming went well and the weather suddenly got colder
I've been having strange days with short sleeves and padded jacket
