I love angsty and passionate spontaneous first kisses but I don't want it for Byler. Not only because it will be Will's first kiss and he deserves to have a sweet tender little kiss, but also I want the Byler first kiss to contrast the Midleven first kiss as much as possible. I want both of them to know it's about to happen, I want BOTH of them to want it, I want it to be soft and slow, and I want it to sucker punch me in the feels.

Also like, are you not friends with the person you’re dating? Especially for Byler, they’re friends first, no matter what happens. They’re best friends, and they have been for years. If they get together romantically, THEY’RE STILL FRIENDS TOO

Another thing that makes me mad is when people say "Byler shouldn't happen because we need more positive male friendships in media" and they say that like Stranger Things is lacking in that department??

Steve/Dustin. Dustin/Lucas. Dustin/Eddie. Lucas/Mike. Lucas/Will. Will/Dustin. Dustin/Mike. Jonathan/Argyle. Like there are so many friendships between dudes on the show that are positive and are good representation of postitive male friendships but NO y'all decide you need Mike and Will to be just friends too despite there being romantic tension between them for multiple seasons now.

And it pisses me off more that people only bring up the "positive male friendships" excuse when it comes to heavily queercoded and confirmed queer male characters. They literally don't actually care about getting positive rep for male friendships in media. They just don't want two male characters to get together. They just want to undermine and invalidate potential queer rep. They don't actually give a shit about male friendships being painted in a positive and affectionate light.
