• TAPPING AKA EFT “Emotional Freedom Technique” 🧘‍♀️🧘🧘‍♂️ • Tapping or EFT is a holistic healing technique which can help with stress, anxiety, phobias, emotional disorders, chronic pain, addiction and weight control, just to name a few. Tapping therapy is based on the combined principles of ancient Chinese acupressure and modern psychology. Tapping with the fingertips on specific meridian endpoints of the body, while focusing on negative emotions or physical sensations, helps to calm the nervous system, rewire the brain to respond in healthier ways, and restore the body’s balance of energy. • This is something I was not familiar with until I did my first water fast. The practitioner who was taking care of us introduced me to it and I immediately loved it. You can do it by yourself or with someone. What I like about it is that you get an immediate feeling of relief and you feel more relaxed. And you will see, the physical pain will clearly be lower than before the exercise. • Are you familiar with EFT? (at New York City, N.Y.) https://www.instagram.com/p/CFhtEdnJ9WN/?igshid=1q2yc6omb1fky

• CHEWING YOU JUICE AND YOUR SMOOTHIE 🍒🍐🍉 • Juices and smoothies are an easy way to pack your body with vitamins and minerals. However sometimes you can get digestive issues after “drinking it” and this is where we are making a small mistake. Although mostly liquid, you should actually not “drink” a juice or a smoothie but “eat” it! • When you drink water, coffee or tea there is nothing to be digested. There is virtually no nutritional content in those drinks. But when it comes to juice or smoothie, it is an actual food intake and your body needs to process it the same way as when you eat solid food. • Juice is the easiest thing to digesting because it is pure vitamins and minerals with no fibers. Smoothie is also easier than solid food because the fiber has been mostly broken down in the food processor. But again, this is still food and the digestion process needs to happen. • The digestion process starts in the mouth. While chewing your food, you activate your saliva glands sending a signal to the brain and the stomach that food is coming. Once activated, the glands will produce saliva, containing digestif enzymes, which are essential when it comes to digestion and absorption. • If you skip this process your body will not be aware that food is on the way and the digestion can be impacted and slowed down. You can have pain in your stomach, feel bloated and have gas; creating inflammation in your gut and leading to the malabsorption of those vitamins and minerals. This can additionally create inflammation in your lymphatic system, leading to potential water retention, bad blood circulation and creation of cellulite amongst other symptoms. • So chew your juice and smoothie and don’t forget to chew solid food even more! You will thank me later ☺️ (at New York City, N.Y.) https://www.instagram.com/p/CFcxQu3pudf/?igshid=53rs6l1u996c

• RAW CREAMY AVOCADO SPINACH SAUCE 🥑🥬🥑 • So good with pasta but also amazing with potatoes and grilled veggies. I could eat it everyday! • Spinach is an excellent source of vitamin K, vitamin A, vitamin C and folate as well as being a good source of manganese, magnesium, iron and vitamin B2. Vitamin K is important for maintaining bone health and it is difficult to find a vegetables richer in vitamin K than spinach. Eating this leafy green veggie may benefit eye health, reduce oxidative stress and reduce blood pressure levels among other health functions. • INGREDIENTS FOR THIS “HMP” (Heal Me Please) RAW CREAMY AVOCADO SPINACH SAUCE 🥑🥬🥑 -1 cup packed with fresh spinach leaves -1/2 large ripe avocado -2 cloves garlic -2 Tbsp pine nuts -1 Tbsp fresh lemon juice -2/3 Tbsp of water, more if necessary for desired consistency -1 Tbsp of nutritional yeast (optional) -Salt and pepper • Step 1: Add all the ingredients except the spinach into a food processor and pulse until creamy. Step 2: Add the spinach leaves, pulse a little bit more and make sure you keep small spinach pieces for added texture and voila 😊 • If you make this recipe don’t forget to tag me and use the #hmprecipes like that I can see your beautiful healing creations. 🥰 (at New York City, N.Y.) https://www.instagram.com/p/CFaDZxop6WI/?igshid=mm2lcp8gxgl8

• ESSENTIAL OILS ✨✨✨ • I have to admit, I’m a big fan of essential oils. I got introduced to the practice a few years ago and since then essential oils spare me the need of taking pharmaceutical medicaments in many occasions. • You can literally use essential oils for everything and every way! Topically, internally, in cooking, for cleaning, for pain, for relaxation, as beauty tips and so much more... • Essential oils are natural, but it’s not because it’s natural that you can use it without being careful or following a protocol. Essential oils can be harmful if you are not using it the proper way. For exemple, what type of essential oil or the quantity you can use is not the same for children, adults or people with a suppressed immune system. Not using the right oil or dilution can cause serious issues. This is why I always recommend to work with a practitioner, especially when it comes to taking essential oils internally or working with children or sick people. • There is many different brands and companies who took essential oils by storm a few years ago. In a short period of time it became a huge industry. However it is crucial to learn about and research each product you are considering: ingredients, origin, concentration, provenance etc. “Unclean” essential oils can actually be very toxic and cause severe harm to your body. It is always helpful to rely on an a practitioners expert opinion, but most of all do your own research! • Certain essential oils are always with me in my bag and I have at least 30 different ones in my bathroom cabinet. The one I use the most is tea tree oil. Tea tree is one of those almost “magical oils” that are good for virtually everything: anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, when you have an injury, when you are sick, in face masks, to clean your house; just name it and tea tree can probably get the job done. • I was actually doing oil pulling with tea tree and I recently learned that tea tree is way too strong for your mouth and can be harmful for your oral microbiome when using it like that. We are never too old to learn something new! • Essential oils will be your best ally when used the proper way 😊 (at New York City, N.Y.) https://www.instagram.com/p/CFSSPBIJJ5p/?igshid=13coqnk3cin5t

• RAW COCONUT BAR 🥥🥥🥥 • So quick and easy to make and totally super delicious! These coconut bars have a high fat content, so be mindful of the quantity you eat; because even if it’s good fat, it’s still fat nonetheless. • Coconut meat is rich in several important minerals, like zinc, iron, potassium, phosphorus, selenium and especially manganese and copper. While manganese supports enzyme function and metabolism, copper assists bone formation and heart health. Coconut is also very rich in insoluble fiber, meaning that it doesn’t get digested. Instead, it works to move food through your digestive system and aids bowel health. • INGREDIENTS FOR THIS “HMP” (Heal Me Please) RAW COCONUT BAR 🥥 -2 cups unsweetened shredded coconut -1 cup of melted coconut oil (my fav: @nutiva) -2 Tbsp maple syrup -¼ tsp fine grain sea salt -½ tsp vanilla powder • Step 1: In a bowl combine shredded coconut, coconut oil, maple syrup, salt and the vanilla Step 2: Pour the mixture into a mold to achieve at least 3/4 inch thickness. Firmly pack the mixture down, refrigerate for at least an hour, cut into bars or pieces and voila 😊 • If you make this recipe don’t forget to tag me and use the #hmprecipes like that I can see your beautiful healing creations. 🥰 (at New York City, N.Y.) https://www.instagram.com/p/CFNEZ3PJyo4/?igshid=1xfakzmgj3pp7

• HOLISTIC MEDICINE VS CONVENTIONAL MEDICINE? 🍏💊 • Before getting into holistic medicine, just like most other people, when I was sick I was going to the doctor. I saw many doctors in my life and none of them ever spoke to me about diet; and at that time I didn’t pay much attention to it. Later I asked the rest of my family and their answers were all the same: NONE OF THEM EVER TALKED ABOUT DIET WITH THEIR DOCTOR! • How can a doctor not talk about diet? How can a doctor not pay attention to their patients nutrition when we know that it is one of the most important parts of staying healthy? • I remember my grandparents, my parents and even myself saying: “The doctor said this, the doctor said that, he gave me a prescription and told me to go home.” Pills, more pills! The “magic pill” that is supposed to cure all your issues! • Don’t get me wrong, in emergency cases such as fractures or other accidents we all need conventional medicine and surgeons. If you are in a car crash and end up with internal bleeding, all the green juice in the world will not do anything for you. • However I’m talking about the rest. I’m talking about people getting poisoned by doctors and big pharma every single day. Making them addicted to prescription pills that will never fix the root of their problems but instead create more health issues and make them life long customers. • What would happen if suddenly everyone was taking care of their health? Not eating processed food anymore, not being stressed all the time but instead eating healthy, exercising and doing some meditation? No more customers for “legal drugs”! • When did the health of all people in this world became a business? When did we start putting money before saving lives? Cancer is a $2 billons business per year, doctors are being paid by big pharma to prescribe pills, vaccines generate billions in revenue for pharmaceutical companies. Based on those facts, what generates more profit: a sick person or a healthy person? • So it’s time to open our eyes because no one truly cares about our health except ourself and our loved ones. What you put in your body matters! You are in charge, so make the right choice! (at New York City, N.Y.) https://www.instagram.com/p/CFKmToSpqnf/?igshid=60fhybrf4rbk

• RAW HUMMUS 🥕🥒🥕 • What’s better than hummus to dip some veggies in? RAW HUMMUS! Not using cooked chickpeas but instead using raw sprouted chickpeas gives you the perfect raw hummus packed with vitamins and nutrients. We already talked about soaking nuts and beans and why it is better for your digestion. Chickpeas will take between 3 to 5 days to sprout and you can easily find a step by step how to guide online. • Chickpeas are high in protein and make for an excellent replacement for meat products in vegetarian and vegan diets. Chickpeas are also packed with a variety of vitamins and minerals like folate, iron, phosphorus, copper and manganese. Chickpeas are also fiber-rich. The fiber in chickpeas is mostly soluble, meaning it blends with water and forms a gel-like substance in the digestive tract. Soluble fiber may help increase the number of healthy bacteria in your gut and prevent the overgrowth of unhealthy bacteria. • INGREDIENTS FOR THIS “HMP” (Heal Me Please) RAW HUMMUS 🥕🥒🥕 3/4 cups sprouted chickpeas 1/3 cup tahini 1/4 cup lemon juice 3 Tbsp olive oil 2 Tbsp apple cider vinegar 2 large garlic cloves 1/2 tsp of salt 1 tsp ground cumin ¼ tsp smoked paprika Water if necessary • Step 1: Place the chickpeas in the blender, along with tahini, lemon juice, olive oil, apple cider vinegar, garlic, salt, ground cumin and smoked paprika. Step 2: Blend until smooth. You can add a bit of water if too thick. Step 3: Pour into a bowl and voila 😊 You can also add different veggies to the prep to change the taste of your hummus. Beets, zucchini, mushrooms... • If you make this recipe don’t forget to tag me and use the #hmprecipes like that I can see your beautiful healing creations. 🥰 (at New York City, N.Y.) https://www.instagram.com/p/CFIB-aLpeCF/?igshid=o95xav5nixat

• HIIT, HORMONES IMBALANCE AND CHRONIC HEALTH ISSUES 🏃‍♂️🏃🏃‍♀️ • We all know that exercising is good for the body. We are made to move, not to sit at a desk for 8h+ per day. We need movement to activate our lymph and help the body with the detox process on a daily basis. Exercise releases the “feel-good hormones” called endorphins. A good, sweaty session of cardio or movement of your choice can leave you feeling energized and refreshed. Exercise can also be a wonderful method to release stress and anxiety. • But when it comes to HIIT (high intensity interval training) or other quick-paced exercises, it might have a not so positive impact on your body, especially if you have hormone imbalance, chronic health issues and are prone to stress and or anxiety. • High-intensity workouts release another kind of hormone called cortisol. This hormone controls how the body responds to stressors and manages our fight responses. • If your hormones are well balanced, you can easily do HIIT workouts once or twice a week. Your body will deal with the a rise of cortisol and will be able to manage it with no issues. • However, if you are dealing with stress, anxiety, hormonal imbalance or chronic health issues and you work out intensely most days of the week, your cortisol levels will keep spiking. Meaning your level of cortisol will always be elevated, giving your body the impression that it is always in danger and it will stay in high stress mode 24/7. • The first sign you can notice that HIIT has a negative impact on your body is by being tired after your workout and not feeling good. Additionally in the future you can see long term fatigue, increased inflammation, digestive issues and burnout. • Cortisol is one of the hormones creating oxidative stress in the body. Oxidative stress is one of the factors for anxiety, hormones imbalance, chronic health issues and cancer. If your body is in stress mode 24/7, it is also why you might not see much physical improvement after all those hours spent in the gym, as increased cortisol level is also known to increase weight gain. • So if you are in this situation try low intensity exercise instead and see how you feel! 💪😊 (at New York City, N.Y.) https://www.instagram.com/p/CE9uj5wJn6C/?igshid=76zif8nmasuc

• CAROB PUMPKIN BLONDIES 🍪🎃😋 • You are in for a treat because these are probably the cleanest, tastiest (and chocolateless) blondies you have ever tried! 😋 You read it right...chocolateless! - I made a post a few weeks ago about chocolate and how it can exacerbate symptoms for people with chronic illness. I tried carob few month ago and totally fell in love with it. Taste like chocolate but with no side effects. • However today’s highlight is on pumpkin! Because yes, those blondies are made with pumpkin and also because I’m clearly not immune to the subconscious effects of those Halloween decorations that already started popping up in all stores! 🤦🏻‍♀️🎃 Pumpkin is packed with antioxidants such as vitamins A, C, E and beta-carotene which can help prevent age-related macular disease. Pumpkin is also a rich source of B-vitamins such as folates, niacin, thiamin, and pantothenic acid and minerals like calcium, potassium, and phosphorus. It also contains immune-boosting properties which can help the body stay strong and fight off common colds and flus. Pumpkin is an excellent way to replenish and restore the body after a workout as it is high in potassium which helps to rebalance electrolytes after exercise and keeps muscles functioning at their best. • INGREDIENTS FOR THIS “HMP” (Heal Me Please) CAROB PUMPKIN BLONDIES -2/3 cup of gluten free flour (my fav @bobsredmill) -1/3 cup of pumpkin purée -1/3 cup of dairy free milk -2/3 cup of carob chips (my fav @missyjssnacksandtreats) -2 flax eggs -3 Tbsp of maple syrup -1/2 tsp of baking powder -1/2 tsp of vanilla powder -1 pinch of salt • Step 1: Pre heat your oven at 360F. Place all the ingredients (except carob chips) into a bowl and mix well. Add the carob chips and mix again Step2: Transfer into a mold, bake for 30min and voila 😊 • If you make this recipe don’t forget to tag me and use the #hmprecipes like that I can see your beautiful healing creations. 🥰 (at New York City, N.Y.) https://www.instagram.com/p/CE7FG3YpRtv/?igshid=dsybbwbqnwbp

• WIM HOF AND THE BENEFITS OF COLD EXPOSURE ❄️🥶❄️ • Something refreshing to think about during those hot summer days and to keep in mind for when possible to execute. Are you familiar with “The Wim Hof Merhod”? If yes, you already know what I’m talking about and the incredible benefits you can get from it. If not, no worries, I’m going to explain everything right now. • The Wim Hof Method is a practice that can teach you how to consciously influence your own body. The method is built on three pillars: Breathing, Commitment/mind-set, and Exposure to cold. • The breathing exercise consists of taking rapid deep breaths to increase the oxygen level in your body and as Wim Hof says “to get high on your own product”. You can go all in with that, just make sure to side down and enjoy the ride. Then you follow with cold exposure, cold shower for example. Depending on your health condition start with 10sec and slowly make your way up to 3min. Always listen to your body and stop before it starts to feel too unpleasant. The next step, when strong enough, you can look into ice bath and cryotherapy. • In a study carried out by the Radboud University, followers of the Wim Hof Method and non-followers were both exposed to a pathogen, while being closely monitored in a controlled environment. The participants that practiced the Wim Hof Method showed an increased immune response and fewer symptoms of diseases than the non-practitioners. • Cold exposure benefits are based on Hormesis law: “The body will improve if it has been exposed, in an appropriate manner and with respect to its constitution, to a strong but short stress factor.” Meaning you can improve your body’s health and your immune system response by incorporating a bit of controlled stress. • If you are chronically ill, there is a fine line because your body is already under a lot of stress and this is why you need to be careful and take baby steps. Think about stretching, if you stretch too much at once you will hurt yourself, but if you stretch a little more everyday you will become more flexible. Well when it comes to improving your immune system and your body’s capabilities, it’s exactly the same principle 😊 (at New York City, N.Y.) https://www.instagram.com/p/CE4hGTapIJw/?igshid=x8huncqvg9tu

• BERRIES SMOOTHIE BOWL 🟣🔴🟣 • Another great smoothie bowl! It’s pretty, delicious and packed with awesome nutrients. I love berries, specially in smoothies, mixed with bananas, it tastes like ice cream...or should I say #nicecream 😋 • Wild blueberries, raspberries, mulberries, strawberries, linden berries, gooseberries, and black raspberries, to name a few, are extremely rich in nutrients and full of certain amino acids and antioxidants. Their deeply pigmented skins give them their incredible healing power. Their incredibly high nutrient content makes them especially effective at removing toxins and heavy metals from the body, which viruses like Epstein-Barr virus, shingles, and other viruses feed off. Antioxidants are present in all fruits, but those found in wild berries are especially powerful, capable of stopping the process of oxidation. You may also have noticed that cultivated berries, or berries that are not wild, are less saturated with pigments—meaning that they are also less saturated with nutrients. • INGREDIENTS FOR THIS “HMP” (Heal Me Please) BERRIES SMOOTHIE BOWL 🟣🔴🟣 -1 banana -1 cup of mix berries -2 Tbs dairy free milk -1 Tbs of pea protein (my fav: @terrasoul) • Step 1: Add all the ingredients into the blender and pulse until smooth. • LET FOOD BE THY MEDICINE! 🥭🍒🍊 • When your body is hungry, it needs nutrients rich food and not empty calories! • Did you ever notice when you eat nutrients rich food you feel full quicker and longer and also have a lot more energy? It’s because when you eat processed food, you are eating mostly empty calories. • You go to McDonald, eat a burger and fries, feel very tired and with no energy after your meal and 2 hours later you are hungry again. Why? Because there is no nutrients in what you just ate. You filled up you stomach, gave a lot of work to your digestive system and your body didn’t take anything beneficial from it; so now it’s asking for more. But not for more calorie or processed food, it is asking for nutrients rich foods. • If you drink a fresh juice, a smoothie, eat raw living food, fruits and unprocessed cooked vegetables you will give your body all the nutrients it needs to function properly. • Everything made sense for me when I first read what Hyppocrates said: “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.” Food is our fuel! It’s how we make our body function properly. I grow up with the idea that I should drink milk for calcium and eat meat for protein. My entire world turned upside-down when I learned what I thought was “healthy food” was actually the total opposite. • Your food choices are what are keeping you sick or making you better. Food is what you can choose to change right now and start feeling better. So do it and let’s heal together! (at New York City, N.Y.) https://www.instagram.com/p/CEuNSKYJdqo/?igshid=y0l8iad2yso9

• AVOCADO TOAST AND VEGAN CREAM CHEESE 🥑🥯🥑 • What is better than a simple avocado toast? It’s easy to make, rich, creamy and so satisfying! Avocado toast is my to go snack or meal when I don’t have time to cook. What I really love about it is that you can get creative with it and change the taste every single time. I like to eat it with a bit of cream cheese or with my pesto recipe. With mushrooms on top, tomatoes, leafy greens, sesame seeds... You can literally combine it with everything. • Today’s highlight is on vegan cream cheese! Finding good and clean brand can be pretty hard. My two favorite are definitely @kitehill and @miyokoscreamery They both use great ingredients and their products are so tasty. Kite Hill are almond based and Miyokos are cashew based. Kite Hill is more creamy and silky and Miyokos is more thick and savory. I love Kite Hill when I make tacos, pasta or need to get the richness of a regular cream cheese. And Miyokos with my avocado toast or grilled veggies to get a bit more of a sour kick. • INGREDIENTS FOR THIS “HMP” (Heal Me Please) AVOCADO TOAST 🥑🥑🥑 -1 avocado -1 slice of gluten free bread -1 Tbs of @miyokoscreamery cheese -Sun dried tomatoes -Arugula -Salt and pepper • Step 1: Slice the avocado. Spread the cream cheese on the bread. Add the avocado slices. Put some arugula and sun dried tomatoes.
