From the Freedom Flotilla, April 27 2024:
On Thursday afternoon, the Freedom Flotilla Coalition was contacted by the Guinea Bissau International Ships Registry (GBISR), requesting an inspection of our lead ship – Akdenez. This was a highly unusual request as our ship had already passed all required inspections; nevertheless, we agreed. The inspector arrived on Thursday evening. On Friday afternoon, before the inspection was completed, the GBISR, in a blatantly political move, informed the Freedom Flotilla Coalition that it had withdrawn the Guinea Bissau flag from two of the Freedom Flotilla’s ships, one of which is our cargo ship, already loaded with over 5000 tons of life-saving aid for the Palestinians of Gaza. In its communication informing us of this cancelation, the GBISR made specific reference to our planned mission to Gaza. It also made several extraordinary requests for information, including confirmation of the ships’ destination, any potential additional port calls, and the discharge port for humanitarian aid and estimated arrival dates and times. It further demanded a formal letter explicitly approving the transportation of humanitarian aid and a complete manifest of the cargo. Again, this is a highly unusual move from a flagging authority. Normally, national flagging authorities concern themselves only with safety and related standards on vessels bearing their flag, and are not concerned with the destination, route, cargo manifests or the nature of a specific voyage. Just like when you register your car, the authorities don’t require you to detail to them every place you are going to go with the car. Sadly, Guinea-Bissau has allowed itself to become complicit in Israel’s deliberate starvation, illegal siege and genocide of Palestinians in Gaza. Israel is showing the world the extent to which it will go to deny Palestinians the aid they need to stay alive, in direct contravention of International Humanitarian Law, UN Security Council resolutions, and two orders of the International Court of Justice. [...] without a flag, we cannot sail. But, this is not the end. Israel cannot and will not crush our resolve to break its illegal siege and reach the people of Gaza. The people of Gaza and all of Palestine remain steadfast under the most horrific, unimaginable conditions. We take strength from their incredible, inexplicable ability to maintain their humanity, dignity and hope when the world has given them no reason to do so. It is our responsibility to keep that hope alive. WE WILL SAIL.
The Freedom Flotilla, which was set to depart from Turkey on the 27th of April with 5000 tons of life-saving aid, has now been delayed because Israel and the United States has pressured Guinea Bissau to withdraw its flag from the Flotilla's lead ship.
Seeing as how their tactics worked on Guinea Bissau, organizers now fear that Israel and the US will exert the same pressure on whichever country the Freedom Flotilla attempt to register their ship under next.
To help the Freedom Flotilla reach Gaza, please keep an eye out for further updates from the organizers. Right now, as of April 27th, they're asking people to help boost their visibility, and to donate to their member campaigns.
For more info, see their webpage.

A crowdfunding appeal has been launched to help a 29-year-old Black trans woman who lost both her legs after allegedly being thrown onto NYC subway tracks by her boyfriend. A statement from the New York City District Attorney confirms that the victim and her boyfriend were at the Fulton St. station in Brooklyn when the man is said to have seen the oncoming downtown train coming and “thrown” his girlfriend towards the tracks. “The victim was rushed to the hospital, where both of her legs had to be amputated. She also suffered from fractures to her ribs and a blood clot in her lungs,” the statement continues. When the police arrived, they found the woman under the train, reports Into. The woman has since taken part in an interview with trans activist Hope Giselle, and explains that she was on her way to a gender-affirming appointment when she alleges that she and her boyfriend got into an argument and he “threw” her onto the tracks.

also i listened to kylie minogue for the first time this week and she's everything
i've listened to all her albums up to impossible princess. which btw the run time on some of these albums are crazy because i know when i'd listen to artists from the 80s-90s their albums would at least be an hour long or longer but some of these albums from her seem to be 45min to being just under an hour
i really like what i heard, and from the albums i listened to i really like kylie, rhythm of love, let's get into it, and impossible princess and i want to listen and appreciate these albums more before moving onto the next ones
and somewhat related but i backed up the videos of tomoko kawase covering kylie as tommy feb6 and wow... that cover is so good... i'd love to hear that rumoured studio version but it's most likely never seeing the light of day. i definitely want to try finding the full performance though
anyways we love music YAAAY

listened to artms leak of that one song
it actually sounds like something i want to listen to HADNFKDN well i'm keeping my expectations low though because it's jaden at the end of the day and he might fuck that song up still somehow so
candy crush was... okay but the execution was a little boring its legit just plastic candy but now the rest of the members are on it. i feel like the idea of taking their own songs and giving them a new life is a great idea and something that's been done before with loona, like the unreleased 1/3 version of love & live with choerry, girl front to odd front, dance breaks for love4eva, etc.
also like artists have given their works new life all the time anyways, the way beyoncé recontextualizes her songs from the past into whatever she's doing now for her performances/tour shows and making something new, a lot of perfume's singles get turned into something completely new on their albums, kelela and her remixes, etc. i just want that same level of creativity for all the girls of loona
anyways i know it can be done because of the examples i just listed but i dont think it's enough to change the instrumentals and then add vocal melodies. these changes are all very bare minimum. also there's no reason for the songs to be barely 3 minutes either le sigh... i feel like flower rhythm and candy crush are a little too on the nose i just want something creative and different. especially since these songs are a part of their upcoming album and my expectations are already low but with jaden's and modhaus' nonsense and how these songs sound i'm a little underwhelmed and not getting any sense of cohesive direction with these singles either

Sudan still desperately needs aid--it needs a lot of things, but it is approaching a dangerous point with famine and mass death due to hunger imminent.
These are the kinds of headlines we're getting now:
Tumblr media
Here's an ongoing fundraiser:
I linked it before, to help with Ramadan, but it's an ongoing initiative, the need has not stopped.
I picked this gofundme because it's been boosted by people I trust and you can see pictures online of the food they've provided, e.g.:
Tumblr media
But I also picked this because you can see the amount of donations. It's 2pm ET on Saturday, April 20th right now? For the next week, whatever's donated, I'll match for a total up to $2,000 (we'll say 2,750 CAD, since the gofundme is in Canadian dollars).
You don't have to send me a receipt, I just ask that you donate and boost.

For those who don't know, Rafah Crossing is closed. Meaning Palestinians in the Gaza Strip are technically not allowed to go into Egypt through Rafah Crossing (with exceptions, like holding a foreign passport) so in order to evacuate, Palestinians need to bribe Egyptian border security officials. The standard price used to be about $5000 - 7000 per person but some Palestinians have been told to pay $10,000 per person just to cross the border, forget other expenses like food and boarding.
For a group of people who are enduring genocide and the complete destruction of their homes that money is impossible to raise without the help of fundraising. That and the collapse of the UNRWA is the reason you're seeing so many Gofundmes nowadays. The entire aid system is gone with the exception of local aid organisations that have limited reach.
So if you see a credible fundraiser, please at the very least share it so it can reach more people. This list by @el-shab-hussein is a good place to start.

i stayed up to finish ff7 remake... i thought i'd be done with it by like 10 but . it's almost 2AM LOL........
its a remake of an old game of a story i already know bc i'm such a huge ff fan so i dont really care about spoilers but seeing certain discussions about remake make more sense now
it makes me wonder how they'll be handling this in rebirth and eventually the final act. haven't seen too much in regards to rebirth aside from gameplay and some story stuff out of context but nothing too spoilery.
thinking about how a lot of people that worked on ff13 worked on this remake and it makes me wish they would remaster 13. not a full on remake but at least bringing it to modern consoles like the ps4 and ps5. it felt like i was playing ff13 in a way but more refined. sowwy just had to say it i'll get back on topic now
i completed all sidequests before moving on because i wanted to at least accomplish that. the combat of this game... fun once you get the hand of it but also really frustrating because i feel like these enemies hit really hard too and i wish after you scanned you could still see the enemies actual HP and not just a bar.... unless there was a way to do that and i'm just stupid and too focused on the battle LOL
i don't mind it being real time i think it's hard to stagger sometimes and i hate how hectic it can be. like there's a part in the shinra building where you fight like 5 hound dogs and you're playing as tifa and aerith only and you basically end up dead if you don't kill at least two of them asap like what the fuck
idk if i just had a hard time because i cleared this game at like level 30 or whatever so maybe i should have leveled up before? unless thats normal or whatever (i'm used to being over leveled in ff games so i can one shot things sowwy)
anyways this was kinda fun. i would go on about the 3d art stuff (specifically modeling, textures, etc.) but this is getting long. it feels refreshing to complete a game and i feel a bit inspired for my art right now. makes me want to make something but its like 2AM

I don't really have anything that I want at the moment, so if you wanted to gift me something pls give it to this family right here:
Found them on Operation Olive Branch and did my part to donate, so I would appreciate if my oomfs did the same for my birthday (and if you don't have any money, you can just spread the word!)

Full tweet:
🚨🚨 In the space of 2 weeks we’ve gone from a pilot project that involved my cousin making and distributing one pot of fortified stew a day to a fully fledged soup kitchen with 10 volunteers that feeds 160 families a day or roughly 800 hungry people daily, in Omdurman #Sudan
To do this we’ve cut out all possible overhead costs to ensure we can feed as many people as possible
🟢Our volunteers are unpaid
🟢Our cooking utensils are borrowed
🟢The kitchens storage rooms are donated free of charge
🟢Transport of food items from the market to the kitchen is free courtesy of my Cousin’s Tuk tuk.
🟢However, in order to maintain this kitchen beyond Ramadan we need you to support this Gofundme that is now fully funding this kitchen 🙏🏽
Id: there are two photos in the tweet. The first in the tweet are of a group of men and women. The second is of stacks of backs of lentils.
