Nails dug into the delicate skin of her palms, burying themselves in her dull flesh. The angry red dents they would surely leave in their wake would surely ache once the adrenaline of her fury had worn away.

She not dare look at the newly scrawled graffiti on the side of the building, freshly scribbled and defaced and surely would take hours for her to scrub away. Some of it, she was sure, would probably be stained.

The stoic voice of the demon behind her wasn’t wrong in his warnings, but it made it all the more infuriating. She couldn’t simply throw a hard punch to the jugular to every demon that dared to cross her; it would draw poor press to the hotel, she feared. But still--it hadn’t made the restrain any easier.

“Then what am I supposed to do?!” She demanded, though she hadn’t meant to lash out at the poor demon.

All jokes, of course. There was humor in her voice, a harmless teasing. She hoped to make her smile. She saw nothing wrong with any of the formally mentioned traits, and she knew Charlie knew that. But now wasn’t the time to joke, as she realized that perhaps there truly was something on the blonde’s mind. 

Vaggie frowned, taking a seat beside her.

“Hey...” She said softly, her hand coming to rest on her shoulder. “What’s this really about?”
