We got this game at my work, and like. I cannot say this at work so you all are getting subjected to it here. So the game is called Queen of Farts by Professor Puzzle. It is a bluffing game, where players play matching animals to get them out of their hand, face down. On the front face, the animals will either be ... normal, or they will be farting. You can say that you think you smell a fart and then like BS you flip them up and there are consequences (taking the pile mostly, cards are bad) if you were trying to sneak a fart card in.

What I really want to talk about is the art on the fucking cards.

I wish I could imprint just how fucking .. I'm pretty sure it's just my deranged brain but how ... weirdly horny this game is?

like I KNOW the reason the not farting animals looks horny to me is because they look like they are holding in the fart and it is not much different from holding in piss which is like. I mean. It's ME sooooooo But the ones that ARE farting are basically making the super fucking satisfied yaoi face and I just cant EVEN

taylor swift’s work wouldn’t be nearly as insufferable if she wasn’t constantly trying to present herself as some sort of tortured underdog. like, okay, she has endured hardships, and a lot of people, especially white men, are shitty towards her for purely misogynistic reasons. that sucks, i agree. but she’s never been an underdog before. she was born to well-off parents who did everything they could to start her music career when she was barely even a teenager, an opportunity that lots of people would kill for. now she’s extremely famous and wealthy, and everything she releases is destined to sell millions of copies and receive glowing reviews in nearly every publication. she is not an underdog, and i have trouble believing she’s particularly “tortured.” she’s not even an alcoholic, despite claiming to be one on the opening track of her new album! people like to defend her lyrics by saying she’s just playing a character, which i don’t believe for a second, but even if she was, i don’t think i want to listen to someone like swift play the character of a tortured underdog, not when there’s so many musicians out there who are actually tortured underdogs. it comes across as hollow. “you wouldn’t last an hour in the asylum where they raised me,” sung by one of the wealthiest, most famous, most critically acclaimed musicians in the world, who was born to loving parents who personally helped her start her career, who once said she’d never been to therapy because she “just feels very sane.” if you’re going to play a character, maybe pick one who we’re not supposed to pity.

What is my purpose? What am I supposed to be doing in life?

I concluded that the question itself was a problem. I exist, it is a fact. There is no need to do any more (or less) than that

But now I'm just tired. I exist. What for? Why have I got to?

To make money to buy trinkets about the things I love so that I can get stressed out trying to find places for them all? Stressing to have enough money and vacation time to get away from the stress?

I'm caught on a hamster wheel. I can't run fast enough. It's gonna keep turning and I'm going to keep spinning and I'm going to throw up and no one is laughing.

"Don't use Libby because it costs libraries too much, pirate instead" is such a weird, anti-patron, anti-author take that somehow manages to also be anti-library, in my professional librarian-ass opinion.

It's well documented that pirating books negatively affects authors directly* in a way that pirating movies or TV shows doesn't affect actors or writers, so I will likely always be anti-book piracy unless there's absolutely, positively no other option (i.e. the book simply doesn't exist outside of online archives at all, or in a particular language).

Also, yeah, Libby and Hoopla licenses are really expensive, but libraries buy them SO THAT PATRONS CAN USE THEM. If you're gonna be pissed at anybody about this shitty state of affairs, be pissed at publishing companies and continue to use Libby or Hoopla at your library so we can continue to justify having it to our funding bodies.

One of the best ways to support your library having services you like is to USE THOSE SERVICES. Yes, even if they are expensive.

i sometimes come across posts that make me realise i REALLY overestimate the average person's geography knowledge given ive been obsessed with it since i was like 13 so.

Nami x Paulie: Most people would get angry by the idea alone that Nami is shipped with a guy. Or Paulie with a woman. But the idea of them is just so funny. There is - of course - the fact that those two station managers (?) thought that Paulie and Nami would marry. But also all of Nami and Paulie's interactions are just so funny, the way he tries to shame her and it is absolutely not working? The way Nami does not care about him being crazy? If they were a thing she would dominate the shit out of him. Nami would wear the pants and poor Paulie never would stand a chance. But he would be happy.
