at this stage i think its good to say, and i direct this to all of the trans women on this site:
you are loved. you are appreciated. your presence is valued.
ppl can do all they can to invalidate you, to drag you through the grime and do their best to make you nothing. and they can fucking try.
but it won't change the fact that we care about you. i care about you. and i appreciate you taking the effort to stick around in this world, especially as things turn awful.
this is so compelling and heartbreaking and important and i wanted to share it. this is the reality of getting an abortion even with roe v wade in place and it's about to get worse.
It's unbelievable how much OFMD feels so reassuring. It feels like a warm hug and a promise that things will be alright.
OFMD really takes you by the hand and it says "if you think you're unlovable, if you think you'll never fit in, if you think there is something fundamentally wrong with you, I swear to fucking g-d you're wrong and there are people who will love you." It says no one is ever alone, and no matter how hard things get they can always get better, and if you're spending every day trying to be more authentically yourself then you can't go wrong. It doesn't try to downplay the bad and the evil in the world, but it says we'll be alright in spite of those things. Our spirit will outlive them.
Did you see the video where Israeli soldiers dressed up like Muslim women and doctors and stormed the hospital in the West Bank and assassinated 3 young Palestinians?
Did you see the bloody pillow with the bullet hole in it?
THIS IS WHO THEY MURDERED IN THAT BED. A paralyzed CHILD named Bassel.
This video was taken just one day before Israel literally shot him in the face in his bed.
Just when you think they can’t get any lower, they do. I don’t care what lies they tell about this child, it is illegal EVERYWHERE to do what they did.
This kid had nothing to do with October 7th. And anything else he did, you simply aren’t allowed to go into a hospital and murder a paralyzed child.
It’s CRAZY that we even have to say this.
And the White House actually defended this today, but it was before this video was released.
i believe barry keoghan (5’8”) was cast alongside jacob elordi and archie madekwe (both 6’5”) in saltburn so the movie could have as many cinematic close up shots as possible of oliver’s baby blue eyes gazing up at men striking an intimidating pose. just always looking up. sluttily
I love love love how Oliver punches and breaks the mirror and then the next morning it's good as new, as if nothing even happened. I think this is when Oliver fully grasps that, for the Cattons, everything can be repaired; discreetly, quietly, invisibly, wholly. They don't even have to see it - the broken mirror, glass shattered and glittering from the floor, the danger of the shards shining in the sink. Oliver realizes that if he breaks, this is exactly what the Cattons will do to him. Remove him so thoroughly no one will even know he was ever there. Any evidence of his mess will be silently purged from their lives, forgotten and invisible. He tucks this information away but never forgets it.

quick reminder that it’s ok to say that you love reading and that reading is your passion without reading 30+ books in a year. if you connect with books and love the power of the written word, you’re bookish. you don’t need to justify your love of reading.
