Kali Devotee Pride Flag!
I made one a long time ago, couldn’t find it, so I re-made it. This is for followers of the goddess Kali in the Hinduism pantheon. Kali is the goddess of time, paradoxes, and destruction.
* NOT A LGBT / QUEER / MOGAI FLAG!*
Pride flag in the literal meaning of being prideful of (in this case) being a Kali devotee.
Color meanings (top to bottom):
Black and blue are for Kali and her skin color how it’s often depicted. The grey-yellow color is for skulls since skulls are common iconography associated with Kali. The dark maroon/blood red color is for blood since again, blood is commonly associated with Kali.

Death 💀
🖤 Death is the greatest teacher,
Meditate upon death.
🖤 Everything dies,
Nothing lasts forever.
Everyone will die,
Including yourself.
🖤 But only the body dies,
The soul is eternal.
Therefore do not fear death.
🖤 Death is liberation,
It is the wakening of the soul,
And the end of the dream.
🖤 Death is freedom from the suffering of samsara,
Release from the pain and strife of life.
Death is the doorway to Nirvana.
🖤 For those souls not yet aware of their true nature even death is impermanent.
Those who die are born again,
Just as those who are born will die.
🖤 Mediate on death,
Appreciate it’s true meaning,
Understand it’s consequences.
🖤 Appreciate what you have while you still have it,
Make the most of each precious moment,
Understand what is really important and what isn’t.
🖤 This life is like a dream or mirage.
Everything we think we have done or not done,
Everything we think we have or don’t have,
It’s all a dream.
🖤 In this world we are travellers passing through,
This world is not our home.
Nothing here to be irate about,
Let it be and let it go.
🖤 Eventually Mother Death takes us home,
But first she offers us wisdom.
🖤 All the sages agree,
Liberation is (spirituality) dying before death,
Being dead to this world,
In it but not part of it.

Note
The story of varuna can you tell me ?
Lord Varun?
He is the son of Aditi. So again, an Aditya.
He is the god of oceans and water in general and also associated with moon. (Not to be confused with the God of Moon, Chandra). He also guards the West direction.
He has a wife, Varunani who emerged after the churning of the milk ocean. And he has a husband, Mitra who is Varun's own brother.
His children with his wife are Daksha, Sushena, Manu, Vashishtha and Varuni. His children with Mitra are unknown.
His vehicle is the crocodile, Makara. And his weapon is the Pasha (rope loop)
He lives in Jal Lok (the realm of the water)
In later Vedic texts, Varun was also associated with justice (Rita) and also medicines.
Y'all can add more info if y'all have

Mitra: It’s pretty cold outside… wanna hold hands? We should stay close.
Varuna, blushing: Okay.
Kali: It’s literally summer.

ASHADA NAVARATHRI DAY 5
LAGHU VARAHI
Also known as Unmatta bhairavi, She is the anga devatA of the Almighty DandanAthA ShrI MahAvArAhi and She serves Her in the Kirichakra. The abhimAna sthalam of MahAvArAhi is Her emerald abode and Laghu VArAhi resides there along with Swapna VArAhi, Tiraskarini and Panchami. She acts as the right hand of MahAvArAhi, being Her amsha and close associate. When one prays to Laghu VArAhi, those prayers reach directly to MahAvArAhi.
It is this laghu vArtAlI/unmattabhairavI that comes as the 5th among the mAtRkA devatAs. Many people fail to understand that She is an anga devatA/partial deity and always confuses Her with the main mahA vArAhI who is the pUrna devatA/complete deity.
Laghu vArtAlI is mentioned several times in durgA mAhAtmym's uttara bhAga where She is seen as riding a buffalo, called as the bearer of earth, She is the inner force of yajna varAha and the guardian deity of the south direction as per devyA kavacam.
Water nurtures life and She, the ultimate nurturer is the One who rules over the 7 great bodies of water. She is sapta samudra vAsini, the Mother who resides in the 7 oceans.
If the pradhAna devatA has 110 akshara-s, Laghu VArAhi (being Her anga devatA) has 17 akshara-s. However even though She has less akshara-s, She is no less powerful in any way.
She presides in the fifth dIrgha of the shodasha svarAs (ॡँ)
महार्णवे निपतितां उद्दरन्तीं वसुन्धरां ।
महा दंष्ट्रां महाकायां नमामि उन्मत्त भैरवीं ॥
mahArnve nipatitAm uddarantim vasundharAm |
mahAdamshtrAm mahAkAyAm namAmi unmatta bhairavim ||
As per this sloka, we learn that She is the Atma/antar shakti of MahAvishnu's varAha avatAra and She is the one who rescued by lifting bhUdevI from the depth of the gigantic oceans with Her 2 tusks.
She holds the name Laghu because She is achieved and pleased very easily and likeswise She easily accepts all prayers and grants success to all kAryam. The Mother relieves Her devotees from all sorrows and grant fearlessness to them. She destroys the arrogance of Her devotees' enemies, and She being Unmatta Bhairavi make the buddhi of those enemies become unmatta. This is how She destroys the bad mind of the enemies where ultimately She provides them with wisdom when seeked with devotion. She has been beautifully eulogised in VArAhi stavam from ShrIvidyA RatnAkara.

Bhager Maa - 2021 Barisha Club Durga Puja pandal, Kolkata
Soumyajit Majumder wrote : Barisha Club Durga Puja pandal in south Kolkata this year depicts apprehensions regarding The National Register of Citizens (NRC). The Goddess is shown as mother with her children being taken to detention camp in a vehicle. Last year, this puja committee depicted migrant crisis with the Goddess as a migrant worker.
Goddess Durga as a mother who is being taken to a detention centre along with her children after NRC. You can see the barbed wires, depicting the border.

The Sheri Garba - Ahmedabad, India
A unique Sheri Garba is performed at Sadu Mata-ni-Pol, Old city in Ahmedabad where women dress up their men in saree and perform the Garba on Ashtami, to honour the goddess Sadu Mata, believed to guard their locality. This is a tradition of the Barot community performed to atone for a 200 year old curse as legend says.
The most common accounts for this legend says that Saduba was a resident of this pol and her beauty was heard about by either a local chieftain or a Gaekwad king. When they sent men to fetch her, she refused, leading to a battle. Some men from the Barot community did not stand up to fight for her honour, choosing to remain in their homes. Enraged, Saduba cursed the men in the community, saying they would remain childless.
In order to appease her spirit, the Barot community built a temple in her honour, revering her as Sadu Mata, and the men cross-dress and perform the Garba.

BEST YOUTUBE CHANNELS REGARDING HINDUISM
Tumblr media
A dharma that was far ahead in terms of vision and development ever since its conception. A dharma that accepts and loves all being equally, having something in store for everyone. A dharma that when followed leads to enlightenment and delightful bliss during one’s lifetime.
That is my glorious Sanatan Dharma.
But as the era changes, it is important for the mode of propagation to evolve as well. Perhaps the new generation of Hindus would learn about their culture through their mobile screens and the Internet in the solitude of their rooms rather than from their elders and community, but the important part is that they should know about the invaluable knowledge our scriptures preach.
So here are some of the YouTube channels I discovered in my quest to learn more about my culture. Even if I inspire just one person to reconnect with their roots, I will find solace in that knowledge.
