1.CONVERGENCE- Is the combination of two or more different entitles of technologies to create a new single device
2.SOCIAL MEDIA- Is a website, application, or online channel that enaboes web user to create,co-create,discuss,modify, and exchange user generated content
SIX TYPES OF SOCIAL MEDIA
A. SOCIAL NETWORKS- These are sites that allws you to connect with other people with the same interest ir background. Once the user create hi/her account, he/she can set up a profile, add people, share content, etc Ex: facebook, twitter
B. BOOKMARKING SITE- Sites that allows you to store and manage links to various websites and resources. Most of the sites allow you to create a tag to others. Ex: Reddit, pinterest
C.SOCIAL NEWS- Sites that allow user to post their own news item or liks for other news resources. The users can also comment on the post and comments may also be rank Ex: Digg, Newsvine
D. MEDIA SHARING- Allow you to upload and share media content Ex: Facebook, Instagram
E. MICROBLOGGING- Fucos on short updates from the user Ex: pinterest, twitter
F. BLOGS AND FORUMS- Allow user to post their content Ex: Wordpress, Blogger
3.MOBILE TECHNOLOGIES- electronic equipment such as cell phones or small computers that you can use in different places, and the technology connected with them
MOBILE OS:
IOS: iOS stands for iPhone operating system and is designed for use with Apple's multitouch devices.
ANDROID:is a mobile operating system based on a modified version of the Linux kernel and other open-source software, designed primarily for touchscreen mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets
BLACKBERRY OS:is a discontinued proprietary mobile operating system developed by Canadian company BlackBerry Limited for its BlackBerry line of smartphone handheld devices
WINDOWS PHONE OS: is a discontinued family of mobile operating systems developed by Microsoft for smartphones as the replacement successor to Windows Mobile and Zune.
SYMBIAN: is a discontinued mobile operating system and computing platform designed for smartphones.
ASSISTIVE MEDIA- is a nonprofit Internet-based reading service to serve people with visual and reading impairments.
CLOUD COMPUTING- distributed computing on internet or delivery of computing service over the internet.
▸e.g. Yahoo!, Gmail, Hotmail
-Instead of running an e-mail program on your computer, you log in to a Web e-mail account remotely. The software and storage for your account doesn't exist on your computer-it's on the service's computer cloud.
It has three components
CLIENT COMPUTERS- any computer hardware or software device that requests access to a service provided by a server
DISTRIBUTED SERVICES- is a set of components unified by a management control plane that implements standard network services, such as stateful firewall, load balancing, encryption, and overlay networks, in a distributed, highly scalable way with high performance, low latency, and low jitter.
3.DATACENTER-a facility that provides shared access to applications and data using a complex network, compute, and storage infrastructure.
TYPES OF CLOUDS
PUBLIC CLOUD- computing services offered by third-party providers over the public Internet,
PRIVATE CLOUD- a cloud computing environment dedicated to a single organization
COMMUNITY CLOUD- a collaborative effort in which infrastructure is shared between several organizations from a specific community with common concerns
HYBRID CLOUD- combination of at least 2 computing environments that share information with one another and run a uniform series of applications for a business or enterprise.
