update :
working on making this and my multi mostly discord based ♡ truthfully i just need to reach out to people about moving threads and making servers but !! will mostly be using the blogs to post updates, find new partners, post edits, and reblog memes & stuff !! i do like the social aspect of tumblr, i'm just not a huge fan of it as a writing platform, but ik not everyone likes discord either, so im still open to keeping som threads here, i just plan on moving the majority of what i can do discord !!

the adoration elijah feels for harper is different . it’s different from the fondness he’s held for others, almost comfortable in it despite the clinging desperation that often threatens to jump from his throat . maybe it’s the trust he has for the other . there’s no doubt in his mind that he could count on them for anything, something he could say about few people .
elijah is impulsive . and maybe that speaks to just how serious he is in his feelings for harper . there’s little he’s truly do to risk anything causing a riff between them, even express his own devotion to the other . he could learn to be content in his longing if it meant keeping harper close, swallowing back the selfish need to keep him all to himself if it meant they were happy .
the words ring in his ears and it’s as if everything else falls silent at the sound of them . if he’s holding his breath, elijah doesn’t realize until a soft sigh is let out . he can’t help but stare in silence for now, letting the words wash over him over and over, studying the look in harper’s eyes . no, harper would never toy or tease like this, nothing but pure and genuine emotion in his gaze .
“oh,” and it’s like a sigh of relief, lips to fight the smile that wants to peek through . “ sorry, I–” say it again ? please, say it again . “you do? you are?” he feels like an idiot, blabbering on when he has yet to really respond, stammering as if harper would joke about this kind of thing. and just how is elijah supposed to respond? echoing the words back seems hardly appropriate when he’s been pinning after them for ages, everything choked back when it threatened to rise.
so elijah doesn't say anything, not quite yet . lips part as he almost starts, only for the words to die before they can leave . instead he chooses to close whatever gap sits between them, hand cupping harper’s cheek to pull him close, lips crashing together in an all too eager need to have him close .
it’s brief, pulling away but hovering close still, eyes searching for anything else in harper’s gaze, smile finally peeking through . “sorry, I… I got excited.”

it's the quietest moments that are the hardest for harper to settle into. when there's nothing distracting him from the loud beauty of everything that is elijah, feelings bubble in his chest until he feels like he's about to burst. it aches in his heart and in his throat, and all harper can think about is how much he adores the boy next to him, how his feelings fill up his lungs and make his brain hazy with dangerous want, and how elijah has no idea how badly harper wants him.
he's so, so tired of pretending he doesn't feel everything for elijah, that he doesn't dream of their stolen moments leading to something deeper. even their closeness now makes him crave more. more love. more elijah, in the most selfish way he can have him.
and now, admiring the slope of his nose and the downward tug of his plush lips, harper feels so full that he doesn't know what to do, and the words just ... slip out of him, ringing in his ears.
"i love you." it's said in a hushed tone, with a sticky sort of fondness that can't be mistaken for anything other than complete adoration, at least as far as harper can tell. "i'm in love with you." the admission, the confirmation, comes out abruptly, and he feels hot all over, but, god, he's been holding it in so long he feels like it's coming out in a quiet explosion, like a dam being broken. and it's too late to back down now, isn't it ?? he's already said it, after all. exposed himself.
