I love that in the ten years I've been on tumblr, tumblr users' attitude towards tumblr has come full circle, now we're back where we started at "tumblr is our beloved home, no other social media can compare, no other website has what we have, do not trust other websites, do not tell the outsiders about us", only this time we're like. Really exhausted and with a sense of irony about it.

today’s funky frog of the day is: scaphiopus holbrookii! commonly known as the eastern spadefoot, they are endemic to north america, specifically pennsylvania, new york, and massachusetts. they can grow to be anywhere from 1.8 to 2.2 inches long, and they are a brownish color, with two yellow stripes on their backs. spending most of their time underground, they only come to the surface to eat and breed. they tend to hover around upland areas, and they have shown preference for being close to deciduous shrub edges, low-growing pitch pine branches, and reindeer lichen. their average lifespan is around 7 to 10 years.
