It's incredible how people have been protesting pants and skirts not having pockets but not a single peep is heard over the fact that skirts no longer have underskirts by default. Underskirts (or lining) was a thing when I was a child, no skirt would be made without lining, you didn't have to think and check if your whole ass is visible in a skirt because lining was a thing!!!! Now most skirts don't and it's simply because it's cheaper, fuck the fact that a customer doesn't want their panties shown in broad daylight, it saves a couple of cents on material.
knitting tutorial made by a twenty-something knitting influencer: 18 min long, 12 of those minutes being the intro and a sponsor plug, they show the first few steps of the tutorial at the slowest speed known to man, they show the most important steps at a neck-break speed, they stop every five seconds to talk about what they just did, 40,000 comments filled with questions ranging from insightful to “how do i knit”, filmed with a camera that costs more than a car, the tutorial is incorrect.
knitting tutorial made by a seventy-something grandmother: two min long, filmed 17 years ago, shows you what you want with the skilled patient hands of a beloved deity, made with the world’s shittiest camera, the best video on the fucking internet, four comments and 30 views, you lose the video and never find it again.

Forgot to post these simple little chicken hacky sacks/heat packs i made for my siblings for christmas. 100% cotton and filled with sunflower seeds (the chickens did NOT appreciate me borrowing from their stash but i was out of rice) so they can be heated up for hand warmers or to ease aches and pains
U say to urself "i dont need notches, ill know how to orient the pieces when sewing bc i made the pattern" this is the devil speaking. Put notches in ur pattern and cut them into ur fabric. Youll be glad for it
In honour of fall, allow me to introduce you all to this monstrosity I made back when I first started knitting and didn't understand how dimensions work:
I love how it came out - I made SO many modifications to the fit. The sweater was written for a boxy, typically-male silhouette, and I am Not That. I shortened the arms and regraded their shaping, widened the body, and moved the shoulders in by a few inches to fit my frame.
The shoulders fit bang-on on top of my actual shoulder, which is so exciting, and the sleeve cap fit perfectly into the shoulder, too. I put a lifeline in when I knit the first shoulder cap to make sure I could rip it back out if it didn't fit, but I didn't need to!
Overall, absolutely happy with this sweater. It's super comfy, and the yarn (High Desert Worsted from KnitPicks) is suuuuper soft and cozy.
