“Suffering is both a reminder and a guide. It stimulates us better to adapt ourselves to our environmental conditions, and thus leads the way to self-improvement. In every suffering one can find a meaning and a wisdom. But it is not always easy to find the secret of that wisdom. It is sometimes only when all our suffering has passed that we become aware of its usefulness.”
Shoghi Effendi

something about mary magdalene not recognising jesus until he calls her by her name makes me crazy i dont even know how to put it into words. its as if in that moment mary remembers all the times jesus has asked her for advice or told her a joke or simply greeted her using that same name and tone and stops weeping because she knows that voice ! she has heard it mutter her name countless of times ! how could she forget !

Hundreds of Jewish anti-war demonstrators have been arrested during a Passover seder that doubled as a protest in New York, as they shut down a major thoroughfare to pray for a ceasefire and urge the Senate majority leader, Chuck Schumer, to end US military aid to Israel.
The 300 or so arrests took place on Tuesday night at Grand Army Plaza, on the doorstep of Schumer’s Brooklyn residence, where thousands of mostly Jewish New Yorkers gathered for the seder, a ritual that marked the second night of the holiday celebrated as a festival of freedom by Jews worldwide.
The seder came just before the US Senate resoundingly passed a military package that includes $26bn for Israel.

prince of egypt is not a christian movie. the exodus is a jewish story. it’s found in other religions, and can even have a heightened level of significance, like for black (specifically african american) christians. but it is a jewish story from jewish scripture written from a jewish perspective about jewish persecution. enjoy it all you want. but don’t go on about how much you love prince of egypt then erase the fundamental jewish spirit of it.

Gratefulness is used by capitalism to create a sense of false scarcity amongst the people. We are told to be grateful for what we have in comparison to what others don't have. We are told we must protect and horde our "blessings" lest they be taken from us, because there isn't enough to go around.
The truth is we should be grateful because God can sustain everyone. We are abundant in blessings. We have a capacity to feed every mouth, to house every body, to make sure every person is cared for. We can not individually possess God's blessings, they belong to all of us.

“Even now, after centuries of reductionist propaganda, the world is still intricate and vast, as dark as it is light, a place of mystery, where we cannot do one thing without doing many things, or put two things together without putting many things together.”
