This weeks ratty paw paintings - everyone did such an amazing job! From start to finish we have Toast (1), Tofu (2), Blueberry (3, 9), Butter (4, 10), Popcorn (5), Tater Tot (6), Raisin (7), and Tofu (8 )!
.
If you would like to commission your own rat paw painting, you can do so on our Etsy store "RatPaintings" here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/RatPaintings
Raisin has graduated to full on fetching through the weaves! Before I had to place the ball at the weave entrance, but now I can throw it and Raisin will find the weave entrance herself! This was surprisingly hard for her, not because she had issues finding the weave entrance but because she values weaves so much over fetch lol.
.
So I would throw the ball, she would follow it to the weave entrance, then she would completely ignore the ball in favor of speed weaving back! It took a lot of working with just the first cone and ball to convince her to actually grab the ball first - but now that she is I'm happy to say she is doing so well that I think our next step will be to add fetch to a multiple obstacle course. Go Raisin! (Also yes, Tofu was being her shameless treat stealing self!)
Alrighty so as some have requested, here's some smol funny frames from the Restored project that's suitable for weird stickers. (Trust me there's so many more, but it would floor my store) ENJOY!!

A clip from our training sessions last night where Butter was learning to weave with the larger ball - Butter learned this particular trick comb way back when she was still a baby, but she never learned the full trick because I never expanded it to the actual mini wiffle ball (she used the much smaller wicker balls that she initially learned fetch with), plus I never had her finding the entrance herself and would just hand the ball to her at the start of the weave.
.
Usually when I train this combo I will start by having the rat practicing weaving and fetch separately, then back-chain in fetch to the weaves themselves. But since Butter has some experience with this combo and is confident with fetch and weaving, I wanted to see if we could just do the entire combo from the start. And after a few false starts Butter really got it down - great job Butter!
