The  UNKNOWN.  Darkness is only a manifestation of that—Temporary blindness, the ignorance to what lurks in the shadows, a cloud in judgment, amongst others. It's also why so many obsess over the future, defying the limits if  DESPERATE  enough by resorting to unconventional and shunned methods. Numerous happened upon him in search of those answers, eager for if just a glimpse of what path  FATE  has chosen for them through his foretellings. The bloodmage wonders if she's one of them.

His nonchalance can frequently be mistakenly confused with  INDIFFERENCE,  but that is yet another thing that holds no importance. So the comment has apparently no true effect on him, whether it was accusatory or a mere thought given voice. His features remained almost stoic in what many would refer to as a kind of  COLD,  male beauty.

When it was over,  SATISFACTION  would linger long enough to lift her spirits and she would not think of that gaping hole inside her. It was not uncommon for some of the folk to linger for conversation, or to impart words of  PRAISE,  but the woman minds it not. However, it was the out of the ordinary statement that has lavender gaze lift to meet the owner of it. A girl—A young woman of dark, luscious hair and lovely amber eyes. Jaelara smiles in return, tugging back silver-gold strands of hair behind her ear before tilting her chin upwards in  CURIOSITY.

The once twin's lysene valyrian dialect, as all others of the Free Cities, was always possessed of an accent that stemmed from the High Valyrian of her now  DESTROYED  homeland. ❝ Aside from terrible, I'd say perfection would be awfully dull.         I have finished, at last, for now. Below you will find a more detailed description of the history and workings of the language spoken in Valyria, Vaedar’s mother tongue; High Valyrian. Most of this is canon so the only ‘headcanon’ part is the connection with Latin that I use to explain or give examples of what I am describing with what could be a real life equivalent for High Valyrian ( in historical terms ). I cover a bit of the history of it, the spread, the division, how it’s still used after the Doom, its grammatical genders ( yes, High Valyrian canonly has grammatical genders, read on if curious ), and examples of its written form. 

Be warned, it is a long post. It’s already been added to Vaedar’s Valyria world building doc found over here as well.

Before I start replying to things, I think I must post an important detail. Although the twins are mages in different crafts, they both are knowledgeable on at least the basis of the others’ magic and if necessary, may even perform the more simple spells. This is based simply on how all Valyrian magic is based on fire and blood, and how it would seem so far in the books, blood magic does require the presence of some form of flame/heat/fire. This means for example, Jaelara would know the workings of bloodmagic, and might even know how to perform simpler spells. She lacks her twins more innate talent for it, though, just as Jaelarys would be able to call upon fire to, let’s say, light up a glass candle or a pyre. 

This is something that is not uncommon among dragonlord families especially. Some might be better at it than others, but most did possess the magic in their blood to perform simple things like this, be them of fire or blood magic. This means Jaelarys will be able set something small on fire ( again, a candle, a small pyre, start a fire on wood, etc., ). The only way he would be able to control the fire similar to how his sister can naturally do, would be through blood magic. Blood magic allows him to do many things in powerful ways, as blood magic is the strongest form of magic. Only Jaelara, though, would be able to call upon/conjure/control/manipulate fire without the use of any other magic or spell but her own gift. 

In terms of magical power, because of bloodmagic, Jaelarys would be the ‘stronger’ twin but only if he can use that bloodmagic to do so, which we know requires blood/related to blood in return. Jaelara has no need of that. GRRM mentions that Valyrians realized that using and saying the right spells or doing sacrifices to the correct god didn’t matter as much as who you were, what your blood was, in relation to the dragons, creatures of fire ( fire made flesh ). Which I think it’s safe to say it might mean that what matters is your blood, how powerful your blood is, how much ‘fire’ it possesses ( no, it doesn’t mean how much ‘purity’ the blood has, even though that is how Valyrians saw it with their interbreeding ). When I say ‘fire’ ( that GRRM has said fire is magical ), it simply means how much ‘magic’ it has, as the same would be true for non-valyrians with magical blood, like the Starks. We see examples of this too in how Melissandre says ‘king’s blood’ is stronger. 

The twins have powerful blood, their blood is magically powerful, hence why the blood spell that Jaelarys is to do before he/or Jaelara dies, is strong enough to grant/imbue ‘immortality’ into the necklaces. Just wanted to clarify this little bit in case it needed to be clarified.
