study tips: the Muslim version
(I made this bc I have to retake an exam in less than a month and I’m having a hard time studying efficiently. Please keep me in you prayers if you find this useful. )
Dua before studying:
(Azubillahi minash shaitanir rajim)
I seek refuge in Allah from Shaitaan, the Accursed one.
(Bismillahir Rahman ir Rahim)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
(Rabbi zidni ilma) 3 times
O my Lord increase me in knowledge.
(Allahumman fa’nee bi-maa ‘allam-ta-nee wa ‘allim-nee maa yanfa’u-nee)
Oh Allah! Make useful for me what you have taught me and teach me knowledge that will be useful to me.
Dua when studying something difficult:
(Allâhumma lâ sahla illâ mâ ja‘altahu sahlâ wa anta taj‘alu al-hazana idhâ shi’ta sahlâ)
Oh Allah! Nothing is easy except what You have made easy. If You wish, You can make the difficult easy.
Dua for concentration:
(Allahumma inni as aluka ya mudhakkiral khairi owa faakilahu owa amirabihi dhakirni ma ansaanihi shaytan)
O lord, I ask you, the one who mentions goodness and actualizes it and commands it, remind me of that which the shaytan makes me forget.
Dua for removing anxiety:
(Allâhumma innî a‘ûdhu bika min al-hammi wa al-hazan. Wa a‘ûdhu bika min al-‘ajzi wa al-kasal.
Wa a‘ûdhu bika min al-jubni wa al-bukhl. Wa a‘ûdhu bika min ghalabat id-dayni wa qahr ir-rijal.)
Oh Allah, I seek refuge in You from worry and grief,
from helplessness and laziness,
from cowardice and stinginess,
and from overpowering of debt and from oppression of men.
Dua after studying:
(Allahumma inni astaodeuka ma qara’tu wama hafaztu, farudduhu alaiya inda  hajati ilaihi. innaka ma ‘ala tashaa’u qadir. wa anta hasbeea wa na’maal wakeel)
Oh Allah! I entrust you with what I have read and I have studied. Oh Allah! Bring it back to me when I am in need of it. Oh Allah! You do whatever you wish, you are my availer and protector and the best of aid.
Dua in the exam hall:
(Allhumma Akhrijni min zulumatil wahmi ,wa akrimni be nuril fahmi . Allahumma afta alayna abwaba rahmateka, wa anshur alyna khazaena uloomeka be rahmateka ya arrahamar rahemeen)
O Lord, please bring me out of the darkness of doubt and favor me with the light of comprehension,
O Lord, open to us the doors of your mercy and unfold for us the treasure of your knowledge by your mercy O the most merciful of the merciful ones.
Additional tips:
If you find yourself procrastinating at the time when you were supposed to study, push yourself to go make wudu and read the Quran.
If you feel anxious or just don’t feel like studying when you’re supposed to, go make wudu and do tilawat.
Try not to stay up late, but if you end up staying up late, pray tahajjud first to avoid procrastinating and to ask Allah’s help.
Go to sleep early and wake up early. Studying in the morning is more beneficial.
Add honey, olive oil, pomegranate, figs, dates, grapes, and black seed to your diet as they’re the sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and also scientifically proven to be beneficial for your brain.
Have tawakkul in Allah. Remind yourself that Allah knows the best and everything happens for a reason.
