What makes the final battle so impactful is that as “insignificant” it might seem to others, ultimately the Thundermen were able to stop the battle and perhaps even prevent an entire war from occurring. They saved many lives while gaining agency back of their own.

In the bigger picture, the Thundermen fought crowds of hellhounds in the Godscar Chasm with chaos powers as the final battle. To other folks, they may see that battle as underwhelming because it wasn’t as grand as a final battle would be in their eyes. And actually it wasn’t! In the epilogue, the Thundermen weren’t even recognized as significant figures in the battle by the citizens of Nua because the battle was cut so short. What other people fail to see is that the encounter they entered in was supposed to be the beginning of this epic battle order/chaos planned out for almost 50 years. Order wanted the Thundermen to go on and triumph from the war and proceed to be kings, admirals or leaders in their communities. To be authority figures. The thundermen refused and went on to do the opposite. Although they agreed with Order that the systems built into Nua prevent real change to occur, their approaches to the problem were conflicting. By having the Thundermens’ approach succeed, they took consideration for human lives, saved many people and let the downfall of HOG fully set in to cause a domino effect to reshape Nua. They avoided the destinies planned by Order by being the unsung heroes of Nua.

In the end, they didn’t receive any glory or recognition but that’s okay. The Thundermen went on to redefine themselves, not as heroes or villains, but as individuals set to help people through their own means: law, financial aid, and entertainment.
