It’s been one year since my graduation from Lynn University. Within this time I’ve had a lot of time to reflect. What I’ve come to understand is that life is more than a check list or a time clock!
Life is not about a goal or a reward or the ability to cross off a task. Life is not even about experiences!
Life is about so much more it is about connection, shared experience, and memories!
Without these three things a life no matter how fruitful is still shallow and in vain!

I’m halfway through my educational doctorate degree. It has been a lot of work and a lot of sleepless night. The amount of information is overwhelming. I am just taken each class one day at a time.

Law class
Have you ever taken a class where you understand everything while your in class? Just to go home and feel like you have retained nothing! Well that was me this last weekend. My new school law class was great. I was engaged attentive and ready for any question. Yet now that I am home doing my work I feel like I forgot to pack up all the knowledge I was given. this is going to be a lot fun as I try to review my note and books

1st year done
Well It was one year ago that I started my Journey on my doctoral degree. I can truly say I have enjoyed the whole experience. I am still working on wrighting my chapters 1-3. I was hoping to be done by now but life work and procrastination gets in the way. I have a few days off bed classes start back up so I will try to re read the work that I have done and I will try to re work them. The framework is there I just need to build it out. My goal is to set up my three chapters get them approved by the end of May. Then start my chapter 4-5 as well as making my product. Which is going to be tough because I am changing my overarching problem for my paper. I need to reword how I am approaching the problems in the arts. Right now the way I have written my work it seems like I am attacking the problem rather than finessing it. So I’m going to rework the wording. Wish me luck

Art ?
Is art dying? Is art important? Why do we need art? Is art just a way to express yourself? Can and is everything? art does it matter? This is want I think about all the time. This is what I want to find out! But how can I find out. (........)

Fall 2019
Getting ready to go back to class for fall. Over summer I decided that I would no longer teach high school. I hope that this gives me more time to work on my EdD. I am getting ready to make an appointment with my advisor I hope to find out what I need to do to make sure I am on track.

Summer is over
As summer is comes to an end, and I am thinking to myself, balance is the most important thing in the world. Work To much and nothing is worth it anymore, play to much and nothing gets done. For many of my EdD colleagues, today is the 1st day back to work. For me it’s my last day of work. I taught over summer and had a great time doing it. But it came with a price. I did not pass my General knowledge test. Which means I won’t be going back to my home school as a teacher. This was a decision that was made for me by that state. One that hurt my students more than me. Over the last 2 weeks I been getting calls, text and emails from my kids in the program. They all where very upset that I was not coming back. The school did offer me to come back as a substitute teacher. Which I declined because of the pay. This decision does not come easy. Last year I was a substitute teacher as well I placed in over 70 hours each week for a check that never cleared $700 ever 2weeks. At the end of the day I had to move on. It was said to do but I had to do it.

Summer session 2019,
This summer we had 3 classes each one was geared to informing us what our dissertation would be like. This was an intense month of education. We had a few colleagues consider dropping out 0f the program. Yet this is such a tight group that we did not let them give up on themselves. Luckily we were able to talk them into staying. This May seem strange to others but this program teaches you a few things one your limits two how to work together three what it means to be part of a team four what you can do five what support looks like six that no matter how strong you are help is always needed seven if it was easy everyone would have the letters dr. attached to their name eight that sometimes the over arching question is wrong but that does not always matter nine that more words some times means less ten If your happy with good you will never reach greatness!
