Equality (Poem)
I was born in a society where men rule
Men are always stronger than women
Men are smarter and more stable
Men aren’t as emotional
Men, men, men
"Women are weak." they say
Women are not weak, I thought
Women bleed for days
Women carry your babies
Women survive **** and abuse
Women, women, women
Women, without them,
men would cease to exist.
Females and males are one in the world,
although that is not the belief that has been furled.
We are told that one gender is better than the other,
it seems it's just one stereotype; one after another.
Equality can become realised if only we believe
and take the initiative to take action and achieve.
Why shouldn't men and women be treated the same?
To have equal rights and equal pay, that should really be our aim.
Men, gender inequality is your issue too,
although you may not agree, I'm afraid it is true.
You should have the right to express your emotions and be what you please,
You should not be pulled back by stigma, but instead be who you are at ease.
Instead of fighting, we should be pulling together,
and make this journey a joint endeavor.
We are of equal value if only we open our eyes,
at the heart of change is where we become most wise.
Now or never? If not us then who?
the interest in this movement must come through.
Equality is not a privilege but a human right,
all genders on the spectrum should be able to shine bright.

5ive literary theories from Philippine authors.
Postcolonial feminism: This theory challenges the universalism and ethnocentrism of Western feminism and highlights the diversity and complexity of women’s experiences in postcolonial contexts.
Historical materialism: This theory analyzes the relationship between historical events and the material conditions of society, especially the modes of production and class struggle.
Formalism: This theory focuses on the intrinsic features and structures of literary texts, such as language, style, genre, and narrative techniques, rather than the external factors, such as the author’s biography, the historical context, or the reader’s response.
Indigenism: This theory emphasizes the importance and value of indigenous cultures, traditions, and knowledge systems, and seeks to recover and revitalize them in the face of colonial and neocolonial domination.

Bakit minsan may isang p*ta
A woman bares her soul to her listener. As she shares her pain and unravels herself, she becomes more than the perceived prostitute but a survivor and a mother who is both familiar and forgotten."...a short piece that uses a first-person narrative technique that speaks directly to its reader. The voice is even pedestrian that in its familiar tone the reader is simply drawn to it. The voice simply asks that you listen as if an old friend or relative is about to tell a story. It is a story that found thousands of listening ears since it first appeared in 2004. The story is at once familiar yet enigmatic. In “re-telling the truth through the words of a loving mother and by using sex as an impulse zone” is perhaps what makes it fresh, intimate and endearing.
