I love how men never shut up about being natural leaders with heads for logistics who should be in charge of any organization and then you ask them the name of their kid's pediatrician and their brains go through a factory reset.

“I might just die, it would make no difference” “I died on the altar waiting for proof” “I might just not get up” “oh, what a way to die” “two graves, one gun” “I would’ve died for your sins” “I leap from the gallows” “if you wanted me dead you should’ve just said” “never quite buried” “were you sent by someone who wanted me dead?” “I think I might die if I made it”

Shout out to all the notes-app poems, love letters, secrets, novels, diary entries, bucket lists and lyrics that were hurredly typed into people’s phones at 3am and then hidden from the world and forgotten. Maybe one day you’ll open the app and laugh at how pretentious you were, or maybe you’ll smile at that part of yourself that noone else saw

I wish people understood that it doesn’t matter how much time passes: what kim/kanye did to taylor will never not hurt her. She felt like her life was torn to shreds. Imagine being 26 years old (literally my age now), coming down off the most successful year of your career, and now the whole entire world is against you. Imagine seeing your name trending because people are saying you’re over, you’re a liar, you’re dead. Imagine thinking this career that you’re worked tirelessly for is over in the blink of an eye. Imagine the people who claim to love and support you suddenly deciding they don’t anymore- in fact- they are going to completely turn against you. You don’t come back from that without deep scars. It’s not possible to move on and never have something tug on the pain. It’s just not. That’s a bag of emotions…one that, I think, you don’t always know which you’re going to pull out on any given day.

At some point in your life, you were taught that being slightly annoying is an unforgivable sin. Maybe it was by your parents or a teacher or a friend or a bully or an older sibling. But someone taught you that being slightly annoying is a crime punishable by death.
You must unlearn this.
You must accept that all people will be annoying at some point or another in their lives, maybe all of their lives, and that this is okay. It is okay for strangers on the bus, it is okay for children in the grocery store, it is okay for people on social media, and it is okay for you.
If you ever want to truly love your fellow humans, if you ever want to truly love yourself, you must have forgiveness for being annoying.

One thing I urge adults to unlearn is the stigma surrounding forgetfulness.
Perfect memory retention is rare. A faulty memory can be the result a host of mental illnesses, from ADHD to PTSD. It's not a sign that someone wasn't listening. I have a friend that has a four year gap in her memory due to trauma. I have another with poor short term memory retention because that's one of their autism symptoms.
Your brain can also trick you into misremembering things. I can't tell you how many times I've remembered putting my keys somewhere and unearthed them in a completely different place. I have to remind myself what my birth date is because I said it wrong once and now the wrong date is in my memory forever. I have to come up with mnemonics for birthdays, anniversaries, and events because my brain doesn't do numbers for some reason.
I see people bicker about forgetting a person's favorite food or what their mothers favorite color. I think it's important to forgive people who forget easily.

Not enough people are talking about the fact that Stevie Nicks wrote a poem that opens THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT.

ending midnights with “is that your key in the door? Is it okay? Is it you? Or have them come to take me away?” and then immediately starting ttpd with “I was supposed to be sent away but they forgot to come and get me” we never stood a chance
