Transition between University and High School
I wasn’t someone who found the academic transition between university and high school particularly difficult as I had already been going to a competitive high school. 
On top of that, I’d been someone who had more of a consistent work ethic, so I was pretty used to studying a little everyday to deal with high workloads. Dealing with university studies is about self-accountability and making sure you turn up to lectures and finish tutorial questions on time!!
Uni was just one step above that because it’s a little easier to find yourself falling behind just because you get really tired on long commutes. One thing I had trouble with at first was finishing maths tutorial sets on time, as I had to sleep an hour or so later everyday to get things done for all 4 subjects. Coupled with waking up 1.5 hours earlier, I was pretty exhausted the first semester and often slept on the train to and from uni. Protip make the best use of your time: get as many tutorial questions done in between classes and on the train home as you can, because you’ll be physically exhausted from commuting, which makes you mentally exhausted doing tutorial questions, which can end up cutting into your sleep and exacerbating the whole cycle. 
The first semester is always the hardest because you also need to balance social commitments - making new friends does take time because you share lunch regularly with other people, occasionally you’ll want to go out and explore the restaurants around your university, particularly if your campus is further away from where you usually live. 
Added bonus is that there’s no trouble with just hanging out with someone else if you don’t click with someone. Degrees where there’s no set subjects are good because things don’t get clique-y, and you don’t have to see people after one semester if you’re lucky. Conversely, keeping in touch with and making strong friendships is tricky because of a lack of contact. 
Furthermore, it’s also the time where everyone encourages you to join clubs. I went to a lot of club meetings but didn’t really end up finding one for me in first year that suited my hobbies. I wrote a post about Extra-Curricular Activities, but main point is: you either join to make a few friends or you join to make a nice notch on your career ladder, but don’t worry about it otherwise. 
You’ll also be trying to keep in touch with high school friends as well, and I would advise that you do, as it can be hard to make as deep a connection with others when you don’t see a particular person as often as you did in high school.
On top of that, a lot of people want to find a part time job to help with university expenses. I was tutoring after high school because I did okay academically, so I worked a little during weekends the first year. I did a post about finding a Part Time Job as part of my University Series below, so have a read of that if you’re interested, though I feel like I need to update it because it covers so little. 
So yeah, add all that up and it can really take time out of your day!
Differences Between High School and University
I ~kind of~ have a whole series on that LOL, but let me know if there was anything that I didn’t cover below! Main differences are basically more flexible timetable, friendship circles, workload and study topics, but more commitments, greater difficulty in study, and added stress of applying for jobs and internships.

there is so much advice for new studyblrs out there but i figured that a semi-new studyblr’s advice would be useful too, you know? so this is for all those awesome people who have heard about this great part of tumblr and want to learn more!!
studyblr? what does that even mean?
a studyblr is a blog that generally focuses on studying
it’s an amazing place for people to learn, teach, and motivate one another!! we’re all helping each other out, and it’s pretty amazing
check out this cool article!
okay but where do i start though
first make the blog! think of a url that fits you, it can be anything you want; most people relate theirs to studying (general example: *your name*study or *your name*studies)
check out the #studyblr and #studyspo tags!!
make a post saying that you’re new and looking for blogs to follow, and ask studyblrs to reblog that post (this helps i promise)
start reblogging some of those fabulous studyspo pics!
talk to people, i can assure you that they won’t think you’re weird; it’s a great way to make friends
join a study group! there are so many incredible ones out there

your grades do matter, and they are important, but they should be most important to you
this doesn’t mean you shoudl let bad grades get you down and hurt your ambitions, they should be lessons and reminders for the future; make them your motivation to do better!
the studyblr community has some really amazing resources, use them well and you can always improve and motivate yourself
all that fancy stationery is cool, but i promise you don’t need it to be an awesome student, and i know this because you’re already an awesome student
some studying methods may not work for you,,and that’s okay; try some things, learn what’s good and what’s not, and adjust it to fit your needs
while studyblrs are great, remember that you need to spend a majority of your time focusing on your work, and not tumblr
so you work hard and do the best you can, okay? you got this, friend

The fugly me
I suck at almost everything I do. Life sucks, Home sucks, my body sucks and my attitude sucks. Don't even ask me about how love sucks because it didn't even happen to me yet. I guess only School works best for me because I'm good at shutting people off and minding the next lesson for the next subject, my homeworks, exams, projects and I'm very much in love with my books and my phone of course. They never left my side, they're my lunch buddies, my midnight buddies and the only time I don't think that I need them is when I'm taking a nap. I'm a big repetitive failure because I always made somebody upset to the point that I stop dealing with them because I'm an annoying bitch. Ugly, fat, and selfish pig. I have friends but they are friends with me because I teach them calculus lessons, give them tips about how to write a thesis and even gave them my format. No one likes me for a friend because I'm honest. Too honest and that's what make me an annoyance. I love singing and I love the songs that have nothing related to my life because I wish they did really happen to me. My mother hates me because everytime she's nagging, I explain and then she calls it retorting and then say mean things to me, threatening me about the punishments, foreseeing my future that I will be nothing and that I won't be able to prove anything. Maybe that's why I'm trying hard at school, making sure I'll achieve something worth celebrating. Some days are good, some days are bad, and I hated those days that are good because after they happen, shit follows. It's like seeing a dim light and then realized that it's just an illusion. For an 18 year old me, I also have bad habits, I like watching movies and tv show instead of doing chores, which makes my mom go nagging and stuff that made me question my existence. I have anger management issues and I wanted to cure it so bad. I easily get angry and I make awful things just to get even and then regretting it eventually. I like calling myself pretty, my dreams are always of a rockstar, singer-songwriter successful me who will marry the most amazing human being there is on this planet, V from BTS. I'd like to visualize good things that I wanted to happen to me. Settle in South Korea, be a good person, but reality is, a pissing bitch and I'm pissed off. I often cry and I pitied myself a lot of times. I look at how I'm handling things, coping with life and fitting in. Sometimes I wish I was sick and then people will actually start caring for me. I'm pass those days of making them like me. Trying so hard so that they'll like me but I've got nothing but my deep sense of humor and my rap skills. I made people laugh and it really felt awesome but I've come to demand more, I wanted to laugh to, but I can't laugh with my own jokes because they aren't made for me, I made them for people to like me and take a sneak peek of my personality and how awesome I would be if failure didn't stick with me. I've read a lot of inspiring stories and articles and tips and I've attended many motivational seminars and even love the songs of BTS, of loving myself but they didn't work for me and that's why I hate myself even more. I shut the door to my bedroom everytime I wanted to quit because there's just something in my bed that'll always made me feel safe. I drown myself in the bright side of others' because my own life can't afford it. There has to be a mistake everytime I feel that I set things right. I'm not suicidal because I'm futuristic. I'm more of a coward and I talk a lot to myself than to others. I talk crap to them because even if it has to make sense they will always be shallow. I'm not a great person and I wish I am. I get it that life isn't supposed to be always great but I'm on the wrong side of life. Till then

SO YES, MORNINGS ARE EXCITING! MORNINGS ARE THE START OF A NEW DAY AND THE TIME WHERE YOU WAKE UP TO DO WHAT YOU LOVE.
These are some tips I’m going to give yuu based on my experience! I hope they help :D feel free to add more! First, I want to tell you that I used to be one of those late night sleepers, or even worse, some days I would be up ‘til 6 a.m.!! Of course life wasn’t pretty because by 10:00 am I would be dying while everybody seemed quite alright, and most likely i would hit bed at 2:00 pm, sleeping ‘til 8:00 pm or so and then being up all night again!!! It was horrible and I felt terribly unproductive, I even considered taking sleeping pills, but, before you try that more drastic and expensive solution, maybe this will help you to regulate your sleeping habits, and most important, to make you a morning person 4-ever:
1. WANT IT REALLY BAD: OK so wanting to wake up early and breaking those bad habits is the real first step. But how do you manage to want it with all your heart? Well, you must think in the positive effects that waking up early will have in your life, how much more stuff you might be able to do and accomplish if you wake up when the sun is rising.
2. FALL IN LOVE WITH MORNINGS: Yes, as romantic it might sound, you have to actually like mornings. I used to hate them because I was always so tired, but you have to change your mindset. I promise everything will look so much better if you do. Your mood will improve a lot and by being positive your life will totally change. I am not saying is going to be easy, but nothing worth it is. So yes, enjoy the birds singing, a hot cup of coffee, the chilly wind and the general atmosphere of the side of your world waking up.
3.  HOW TO HAVE MORE ENERGY IN THE MORNING: This might be a crucial point. Though a positive mindset helps a lot, if you are a beginner in the waking-up-early routine you might feel very tired at first. Well, here is when you need your will power AGAIN. But only to do the activities that will help you to get that rush of energy you need:
    3.1 COFFE & BREAKFAST: Yes! Super important, specially coffee. If you don’t like coffee or can not drink it because of health problems try a delicious smoothie, some orange juice or a cup of tea. Be sure to really like it and to really, really enjoy it! You know, because waking up early must be something you are willing to experience, not something you hate. Also, I recommend having a delicious and healthy breakfast. The healthier you eat, the better you will feel. And I tell you this from my own experience, if I eat something processed or poor in nutritional value I will feel tired :( here are some delicious ideas: x x x x Or go for a simple scramble eggs + fruit breakfast. I have it almost daily and to be honest I love it!
    3.2 EXERCISE: It might sound scary. At least I know I was scared! Exercising in the morning? When you are still half asleep??? Well, the good news is that you might feel like a zombie just the first 5 or 10 minutes and then the energy will come to you! Plus, your metabolism and all the hormones involved in activity and exercise begin to elevate while you’re sleeping. Thus, you feel more alert, energized, and ready to exercise when you do wake-up. So, daily morning exercises help you sleep better and therefore, waking up early!! Don’t be afraid! You can always do some light exercise until your physical condition improves. I personally love running, but you can do in-doors exercises. Or join a gym! Most of the people at gyms are just ordinary human beings trying to do something extra-ordinary: Waking up early, being discipline, making the time to go, etc.. so it is very motivational :D
4. GET EXCITED ABOUT MORNINGS: This comes along with the positive mind-set and the will-power thing I told you before, but it helps tons to have something to look-forward every morning, and basically, everyday.
Maybe you should ask yourself some questions: Why am I waking up early every day? What am I doing with my life? Do I feel passionate about it Does it have a purpose? And depending on your answers, you might want to reconsider what you are doing with your life. It is all about giving meaning to it. Wake up early to do something you love, but not only in the mornings but during the complete day. Whether it is practicing piano or violin (or guitar because you want to be the next Jimmy Hendrix), training to be a champion at a math contest or a sport, discovering the cure for cancer (because why not, dream big!), mastering another language, being an expert on Shakesperean dramas, a reformer of an education system that urgently needs a change, the most skilled ballet dancer or hip hop dancer, or maybe a human rights fighter that will change the world but that first have to finish on time her/his homework, you must feel passionate about what you are doing and you must understand that by waking up at 6 a.m. you will have more sunlight to achieve your goals! WAKE UP EARLY BECAUSE YOU WANT TO GET STUFFS DONE!
5. GET INSPIRED: Opposite to jump out of bed just as soon as the alarm clock sounds, maybe you will want to get a bit of inspiration and motivation before anything else. Personally, I find inspiring to learn stuffs about the world I did not know before, and also, watching other people succeeding at something because I always think about the amount of work it takes to be not just good, but outstanding. And with my phone next to my bed I always check these channels/videos before being fully awake:

ASAP Science: Learn more science, and really, get amaze by how wonderful life is o.O
Good Mythical Morning: Rhett and Link are some of my fave human beings! Start your day with a life, mythical beast!Plus, they are friendship goals!! haha
Pale Blue Dot by Carl Sagan: Carl Sagan is such an inspiring figure, and what he says in this video will make you feel really lucky about being here.
Crash Course: History, Literature or Science, you choose which stuff you want to learn about today!
TedTalk: People doing what they love, sharing who they are and why it matters, whether it is singing, being happy, teaching art or fighting poverty you will learn something not only useful but also meaningful.
Film Theorist: The analytical but very fun part of being a professional nerd :D (for those who love series and movies but want to take a deeper insight on them, also very fun to watch!)
