Hey there! I'm excited to share with you a new series I've created on Show Don't Tell. In this series, I dive deep into each emotion individually and provide a detailed list of ways to show it through body language, action, setting, and more. The first emotion we're exploring is Envy, and I promise you won't want to miss it! Check it out and let me know what you think. And if there's an emotion you'd like me to cover next, don't hesitate to leave a suggestion in the comments. Can't wait to hear from you!

Rules: look back on your works, both past and present, finished and unfinished. What are five to ten narrative elements or tropes that continuously pop up in your work? Give a list of these things!
• Characters that go “I may not have been born here, I may not have lived here that long, but this is my home, and I will not let you take it from me.”
•There almost always seems to be a whumpee. Could be the MC, could be a side character, but someone is going to get tossed around.
• Nothing exists in a vacuum. By that I mean that the there is always a history to the settings.
• Subtle hints and foreshadowing. Could be intentional, could be accidental.
• All the happy and smiling people? That may be because they were sad and suffered heartbreak, and they want to be that one light in someone’s life.
• Life changing events. Sometimes good, sometimes not. How will characters react? Can they ever be ‘normal’ again? Can anything be ‘normal’ again?
Whew! That was a good one.

God, I love You and want to keep You first in my life. Show me how to better prioritize You and not take You for granted. Thank You for being with me and giving me strength. Free my heart from selfish motives as I choose to focus on You. In Jesus’ name, Amen. 🙏🏻

How I thought writing would go: You're in control of your story. You are the puppet master! You control these characters, what they do, what they say, what they think. This world is yours, do as you please.
How it's going: my characters stopped listening to me, and now I'm 6485746 words into a plot that went off the rails on page 4.
