All sentences on these meme make references to royal balls, medieval ballrooms or regency, basically set during any period drama. You can change names, pronouns, titles and more as you see fit. Most of these were taken from different source materials found via google search. This meme makes references to masquerades, royal dances and partners.

this is all she's wanted for so long. the way she feels right now is why she won't kiss ricky that often. it feels too good to be true. after everything they had been through, feeling like things could be alright between them after everything. ❝ okay... good... ❞ she's happy to just get out of the car and go inside. the night had been pretty awful until ricky had come to get her, and she was appreciative of the fact that he was so willing to drop everything to take care of her. she didn't think she deserved it most of the time. she doesn't much like that they have to untangle to get out of the car, but once she is out and around to where he is, their hands intertwine again and she feels good. ❝ ooh... hot cocoa might be nice. i'm still pretty cold. ❞ his arm wrapped around her was helping her not be so cold, but she'd been sitting outside in her little dress long enough to be chilled, and she liked the idea of getting cozy before getting into bed. ❝ actually... god, i hate to ask, but... could i take a shower? do you care? i'm pretty sure someone spilled beer on me at some point. ❞ it felt like maybe a step she wasn't totally ready to take, being comfortable enough at his place to take a shower, but she felt pretty grimy. house parties always made her feel gross.

it's her favorite hoodie- his hoodie... that means something to her. and she's had it since they were 16, and now they're 19... and kissing in his car after a party they went to together... this kind of thing is... the kind of moments he had wanted back when they were 16... but... maybe better late than never. and hopefully, if he's lucky... they'll have a lot more moments like this. maybe she'll really be his girlfriend, and they'll be able to be happy together. ❝ good. me too. ❞ things are changing for the better, and hearing her voice her enjoyment of it feels really good. at her question, he smiles just that much brighter. ❝ please. ❞ he nods in agreement. ❝ let's go in. ❞ he can't help but be slow about pulling away from her though, he doesn't want to, even though they have to to get out of the car and go inside. she said she wanted to cuddle in bed though, so... there won't be distance between them for long. as they walk up the the building, he's holding her hand again, his arm wrapped around her for warmth. ❝ do you want hot cocoa or something, or are you just- ready to get into bed? ❞ he knows she's cold from the night in her dress.

❝ nope, we definitely wouldn't. i'm glad we work so well together, though. best partnership i've ever had. ❞ she leaves it at that, hoping he doesn't press too much at what she says. his fingers in her hair is so comforting. it really does remind her of her moms, of her childhood, of home. ❝ i'm glad it was you. ❞ she says softly. she won't elaborate, though. she could play dumb and say she meant she was glad it was him that jenn had paired her up with, but that wasn't what she'd meant. at least, not totally. ❝ this is nice. i wish i felt better, but i love this movie. ❞ she was cozy, snuggled up with ricky like this, and she couldn't help but be nice to him. she didn't want to get too used to this, knowing when she felt better, she'd probably turn back into the ice princess she'd become, but for now, she was happy to blame not feeling good for why she was so close to him.

❝ yeah, i think it's going to be a lot of us disappearing for a break between talking to people. ❞ she says with a laugh and a shake of her head. she hated schmoozing, but it got them their endorsements, and it got donations made to their skating club, and that was important. and since she and ricky were the main draw right now, they'd be expected to do a lot more talking. they were on fire, at the top of their game. ❝ it'll be good to get some coffee before we have to be high energy for people we don't know. if i could have a shot of tequila before this thing, i'd probably be much better at talking to everyone. ❞ she teases, sighing softly. she got nervous meeting new people and when they wanted something from her, it only made it worse. at least she'd gotten used to the reporters at competitions over the years, but donors were another thing entirely. it was scary. she squeezes his hand, just happy to have this bit of affection as the leave the tailor and head toward the coffee shop.

❝ oh yeah- i mean- we're not the only ones who aren't super interested in talking to- 'john from the byu endowment' or whoever else they're bringing around to try to get money from this year. ❞ they're not really the poster children to try to get that kind of money anyway, but- the public doesn't exactly know what they get up to behind closed doors. and unlike some of their fellow competitors from their rink, the two of them grew up in salt lake their whole lives. he knows nini, for all the parties he's seen her at, isn't really all that interested in talking to a ton of people. it doesn't feel like her...

it does surprise him when she reaches for his hand, but it's a welcome surprise, and he's happy to take it as they walk out of the tailor shop together. just- being close like this... this small bit of closeness, touch, affection, makes him feel so good. it's nice- to feel like she might love him like he loves her. ❝ coffee shop sounds good if you're cool with that? stay closer to where we need to end up- 'cause yeah- we have to be on time to this thing, unfortunately. ❞ or early, like she says. it's just how these things go. they've got to be responsible for their skating careers, and that means more than just the skating.

❝ two weeks will fly by... it'll be over before we even know it. ❞ she says, voice small as her lip quivers. she's happy that things are finally going to go back to how they were always meant to be. soon enough, they won't have to worry as much. she'd much rather be in his arms right now than separated by all this distance, but knowing it's almost over and they'll be reunited soon enough feels good. she can wait. she has to, of course, but she'll survive the wait.

❝ somewhere warm, with good food, with a nice place to sit out in the sun for a while. that sounds so good. just you and me together. ❞ there were so many nice places they could go to get away, and she knew once her breakup was publicized, people would be clamoring for more information. she wanted to be away from los angeles when that happened. she knew all the lies brody was going to tell and she didn't need to be around for reporters to ask any questions. ❝ yeah... he's not very comforting, so i try not to. you know how i am when i'm upset, and he doesn't care for that. childish, he'd called it... ❞ brody had done such a one-eighty after they'd been dating for a few months, and nini knew back then that she should have turned and ran, but she'd felt stuck. to have to have lawyers just to get out of a relationship when she wasn't even married felt so stupid, but her career was at risk if she upset brody or his uncle. she knew they could ruin her career. she knew it. ❝ i'm just happy that you're going to be here all night. even if you're just on the phone, it's closer than we've been in a long time, and i just... need you. i need my best friend more than anything. ❞ it felt good to know he was here for her. not just on the phone, but always in her corner, always rooting for her and doing what he can to make things better.

❝ okay. two weeks. and then you can come over here and i'll hold you. and you can see your lawyers and get this over with... i promise i'll take care of you. i'd really, really love to see you... so- i'll do whatever i need to to help you, okay? ❞ he wants her to know he's there for her. in any way she might want him to be. he does want her back, but above all else, he wants her to be okay. to be happy. nini's his best friend. she deserves better than this. and his heart is hers, and it sounds like she wants that too, which... does feel good. knowing she loves him. and that when she gets away from brody... she'll be his again. they deserve that.

❝ i think you definitely deserve a vacation- so... i'd love to take you someplace warm and tropical. hawaii... the bahamas... i don't care. just- someplace pretty where we can get some peace and quiet. i'm definitely interested. ❞ it admittedly feels good to see her checking him out. maybe its not fair to be thinking like this... feeling this way about her, when she's with someone, but- he was with her first. and he'll be with her when this is over. and it's just thoughts... ❝ i'm interested in doing anything with you, honestly. everything with you... ❞ at her words he nods, and now she can see his face when he does. ❝ it's okay. i might cry too... but- you really deserve to be able to cry. to let it out of your system... you've held it all in for so long... and you know you're always safe to share your feelings with me. you can cry into my shirt and put on my hoodie and just- be comfortable. ❞ and while tonight they can't be together... they can be on facetime like this... and they can feel this closeness through the few miles between them. ❝ i love you, nini. i hope you sleep better tonight, knowing i'm here... i love you and i'm yours when you're ready. ❞ it feels good, knowing there's a plan too.
