I like to imagine Marcille deals with her grief of outliving Falin (her wife) and Laois (her platonic soulmate) by looking for new friends that are just as weird/obsessive as the Touden siblings. Through this process of finding generations of weirdos she starts to notice genetic patterns and similarities to the point that she "discovers" autism. She names it Touden syndrome though.

an extremely underrated Dungeon Meshi moment is Falin going "oh don't worry i was just talking to one of the residents (pointing to a bricked up door) and she says we can spend the night! :)" and Laios responding with "wow, that's so nice of her! :)"

Dungeon Meshi is great for so many reasons but I love how the anime retained the manga feeling of "wait they rescued Falin but there's HOW many chapters left???"

I feel like it was entirely possible to do a 12 episode season or just drag things out so it ended on the resurrection but now the anime-onlys get the experience the feeling of completing the 'goal' of the show and...we're halfway through the first season. What's going to go wrong.

The whole “how the hell does this predatory creature get enough sustenance” thing that plagues fantasy and sci-fi occasionally gets so absurd it loops around into being funny, like the scene in Star Wars when the Millenium Falcon is flying through an asteroid field and gets swallowed by a worm.

I could complain about that, but I could also conclude that the supply of reckless space pilots flying into asteroid fields has been consistent enough for the past few million years for animals to evolve to prey upon them.

I really am glad that anime only people finally get to see the funniest thing about Marcille's feelings for Falin, namely how Marcille spends the entire story up to that point fawning over Falin and how cool and powerful and special she is while also acting like Laios is a deranged weirdo who tortures her for fun, only for the story to reveal that Falin is a Carbon Copy of Laios in almost every way and absolutely down with all of the freaky shit he's been up to. Legit comedy gold. I can't get over it. Marcille you're so fucking stupid, I love you.

And of course Twilight Sparkle is the one to represent G4, being the first main character we follow in the show, and being the one that took over Equestria (with her friends of course) it just made sense for her to be the one i drew!
