I don’t think people realize that had it not been for Koda Kumi dominating Japan with her ero-kawaii image from 2003-present, most K-Pop groups (both male and female) wouldn’t be successful in Japan with a sexy image. Back in the mid-to-late-2000s, Kuu was considered to have a “too sexy” body. Meaning her body shape had to be covered up during lives more than her fellow artists. But because she pretty much gave the middle finger to those norms, more artist were allowed to have a sexy image later on.
