Hi, Tumblr. It’s Tumblr. We’re working on some things that we want to share with you. 

AI companies are acquiring content across the internet for a variety of purposes in all sorts of ways. There are currently very few regulations giving individuals control over how their content is used by AI platforms. Proposed regulations around the world, like the European Union’s AI Act, would give individuals more control over whether and how their content is utilized by this emerging technology. We support this right regardless of geographic location, so we’re releasing a toggle to opt out of sharing content from your public blogs with third parties, including AI platforms that use this content for model training. We’re also working with partners to ensure you have as much control as possible regarding what content is used.

Here are the important details:

We already discourage AI crawlers from gathering content from Tumblr and will continue to do so, save for those with which we partner. 

We want to represent all of you on Tumblr and ensure that protections are in place for how your content is used. We are committed to making sure our partners respect those decisions.

To opt out of sharing your public blogs’ content with third parties, visit each of your public blogs’ blog settings via the web interface and toggle on the “Prevent third-party sharing” option.

December Three months and six days of Training have come and gone. Cynthia and I have been staying on campus for extra fight training. It’s helping me tremendously to block objects flying at me. The downside is that I don’t have much free time. However, I’m incredibly proud of how far I’ve come in such a short time. Even as someone who’s abilities manifested late. Oh! Before I forget, Griffen finally convinced Cynthia and me to view our Oracle orbs, and as it turns out, they were Orbs to advertise the Hunters & Demons game that the school hosts every Friday!

Jade Here! Two months have really flown by. While at the Academy, I’ve learned so much already. My skillset is growing rapidly from the basics of karate to sword fighting! Way faster than I thought it would! but, there may be something else that's going on. Cynthia and I have found a new Oracle orb in our lockers every day for the last month. And like I told you before, those warn shadow hunters about danger. I haven’t used any of them yet… I know I should, but I don’t know if I can bring myself to.

I can’t believe it; I have officially finished my first day at the Dallas Shadow Hunters Academy! 6 months ago, I was regular old Jade Parker. But now!? Now I'm Jade Parker, Shadow Hunter! Well, sort of. Today we mostly toured the Academy and learned the rules and regulations like any other orientation. However! Thank the gods for my best friend Cynthia, she convinced our guide to teach us about Oracles and oracle orbs! Oracles use the Orbs to warn shadow hunters of coming danger! That’s why each hunter is assigned one at the end of training.
