There’s a fic on fanfiction(.)net that I’ve kept tabs on for years to see if it’s been updated or not. While I’m no longer even in the fandom it’s written for, it just has one of the greatest storylines I’ve ever read. Last time it was updated was 2011.

The other day, I decided to reread the entire thing and leave a very in-depth review of what I thought of each chapter. I also mentioned how I started reading it when I was 13 and am now 21, but always came back to see if it was ever finished because I loved it so dearly.

Today, said author sent me a private message saying that her analytics showed that the story was still getting views even after all these years, but no one ever bothered to leave reviews other than “update soon!!!”, so she never felt motivated enough to finish it. She said that me reviewing every single chapter with lengthy paragraphs made her cry and meant the world to her. She also mentioned that she felt encouraged to write the two remaining chapters needed to complete the story and that she would send me a message the night before she updates the fic.

I’m literally sobbing. I’m so excited :’)

Please always remember to leave a review when reading fanfiction!!! It means a lot to a writer.

Finding out that Marco Simoncelli was actually considered a really dangerous rider makes me wonder if Vale was concerned that Marc ends like Sic did. Like in 2010/ 2011 many rider like Lorenzo and Pedrosa told Sic off for his riding style, called him dangerous and talked about feeling unsafe riding near him (sounds familiar, right?). And then he dies.

So, a few years later, Vale finds a new friend on the grid, a young talent who many consider as the future, like Super Sic. But he also has a dangerous riding style and maybe this time he realized it - to be fair, I have no idea if he said anything about Simoncellis riding, but I don't so. So he's scared he loses him too...

And his only solution is to try bully him out of riding like that.

(and he knew that his brother + academy boys would end up riding against Marc and thought they were at risk so he couldn't let that happen. Cause be honest, this man can't lose ANY of them.)

i do unironically think the best artists of our generation are posting to get 20 notes and 3 reblogs btw. that fanfic with like 45 kudos is some of the best stuff ever written. those OCs you carry around have some of the richest backstories and worldbuilding someone has ever seen. please do not think that reaching only a few people when you post means your art isn't worth celebrating.

Okay I know I'm reading too much into this and also just am objectively wrong but something something something about Seb's little murmur of Mark's name when he walks in the room just breaks my heart. Mark walks in and Seb has already been getting scolded via the radio and the Red Bull team member meant to stay by his side- and he knows he fucked up- he knows very well that he is in trouble. He may not agree with it, and to this day he maintains he would take the exact same actions during the multi 2-1 incident, but in that moment there's just a small outreach from Sebastian to Mark and he's immediately shut down. Mark is fuming and not willing to hear it and he knows Seb well enough to know that if they get into it at all, it won't be with an apology. Seb is young and possibly over-confident and above all else stubborn- but that small "Mark," sounds like just a plea from a kid asking for someone to reassure him, even if he doesn't deserve it in that moment.

My counselor once told me to make sure I wasn’t doing things to distract myself from the boredom rather than try to sate it. I feel its one of the most important things he ever said to me.

When I’m distracting myself from the boredom, I read or game excessively so I don’t feel the emptiness of boredom. It’s a short term thing, and it only staves the boredom as long as I’m doing the thing.

When I’m sating myself from the boredom, I pursue things I am genuinely interested in and so find myself feeling fulfilled and happier for a longer period of time. Even if I stop doing it temporarily, I don’t immediately fall apart as I would with the distraction.
