Customer profiles
I looked at the kind of age I would be targeting which would be between 18-24, and then asked 2 people between that age group to answer the questions above on the things they like, and are interested in to gain an insight on what my potential customers needs and requirements were.

Brand packaging
The packaging I decided to go for was a cardboard box filled with tissue paper, I feel that when received a parcel and it comes in a box it feels that little bit more luxurious and that you’re receiving something high quality. As a business I also want to be sustainable so using recycling cardboard and biodegradable tissue paper.

Brand colours
I have decided to go with neutral grey colours as a theme to keep throughout my work as well as my brand. I feel like the colour is appealing to everyone, whether it be a woman or man wanting to shop. I wanted to chose a colour that made it feel like it was for everyone and not just on specific gender.

Final logo
This is the final logo that I went with, I felt that I was plain, simple and easily recognisable. I kept the colours neutral as maybe in the future I may expand to menswear so wanted to be able to keep the same logo and theme within my brand. I feel that my logo looks high quality and will go with my brand.

Brand logo
Deciding on a logo was important to me as I feel like that is the first thing the customer is going to see and will be there first thing they’ll think about the business. I designed a few logos keeping them all simple and asked many different people which one they prefered and which one stood out the most to them. Although I had my favourite and knew which one I prefered I thought it was important to get the opinion of others as it is always beneficial to have other opinions within your work.

My brand
My idea is to design a loungewear brand, that sources its manufacturing in the UK. The loungewear will be created, sourced and designed in the UK. Manufacturing in the UK will be a USP for my business. Although for this module I am talking about the brand I want to create I am also inspired to develop my own manufacturing business based in the UK and understand and develop my knowledge for the future of manufacturing in the UK. My long-term aim is to develop my own brand with retail outlets throughout the UK and abroad, but with its manufacturing base within the UK.
I have always wanted to start my own business creating things I love to wear myself and to look at the lastest trends and what people love to wear and I feel that loungewear is something that never dies out. I feel that loungewear can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion and how the person wearing it feels. That is something I love about loungewear it can be worn almost anywhere.

Research
I feel that manufacturing isn’t something that is done in the UK, and I want to be able to encourage others to manufacture in the UK. For this task I have decided to create my own brand that aims to manufacture in the UK but eventually I would like to expand and create my own manufacturing business that sources everything in the UK. I am to be environmentally friendly and sustainable. Looking into business to see where they manufacture I feel that the majority is all overseas in forgein countries.
After researching designers that are sustainable and how they are doing their part to help the environment, I felt really inspired by her new collection “Ocean” I feel that this is something that should be encouraged and other brands should do.

Designer
“Italian-Japanese designer Leticia Credidio creates clothes for slumber. Her sleepwearand loungewear is designed specifically to 'unleash the power of sleep' – the 'essential ingredient' for a life best lived.”
“The fashion industry and policymakers should ban the creation of polyester, synthetic and microfiber fabrics and non-sustainable materials,” she says. “The same applies for plastic in swing tags, buttons, ribbons and threads. Designers and manufactures must work together to stop mass production and consumption of such materials.”
She adds, “When designing, we can always opt to use sustainable materials and fabrics. I know there many companies with great strategies in place already, using clothing and fabrics coated with anti-shed treatment that can help our oceans, but there is still plenty for all of us to do.”
