I'm thinking about like the criticism, even bitterness, that the gods don't appear for every major problem in Exandria outside of "when they want to", and I'm thinking about there was a time in history when the gods were directly interventionist in the world and how that led to the two great earth-shaking wars of the Schism and the Calamity and how it's stated the gods avoid interfering directly anymore specifically to avoid this from happening again, and I'm thinking about some even resentments about the gods giving power only when it is convenient, and I'm thinking about how there are clerics of gods they don't respect or even worship and sometimes even directly work against those same gods, and I'm thinking about the belief that mortaldom is trapped in the webs of the gods, and I'm thinking about how the Raven Queen spends her time facilitating souls to something that exists independently of the gods and there doesn't seem to be any attempt at a disruption or subversion of that order, and I'm thinking about accusations of tricking mortals into servitude, and I'm thinking about modern clerics vs. k'nauthi and the difference between a god acting and a cleric performing a work, and I'm thinking about "we're their batteries" and "they harvest us for their own ends", and I'm thinking about it being already known and widely accepted that gods wax and wane per their worship, (and I'm thinking about emotionally charged language and overly neutral language and about linguistic framing), and I'm thinking about "maybe we should let them sleep", and I'm thinking about the Luxon sleeping at the center of the world, and I'm thinking about criticizing the gods for letting bad things happen, and I'm thinking about the agency of mortals to make their own poor choices, and I'm thinking about the idea that the gods prevent mortals from becoming too powerful and from running the world themselves, and I'm thinking about how little other buffers exist to prevent so many powerful mages from subjugating the populace, and I'm thinking about how the gods were shaped by mortal imagination, and I'm thinking about the free will of mortals (greater than even that free will of the gods), and I'm thinking about competing needs and ways of living and experience, and I'm thinking about perspective, and I'm thinking about philosophy vs. pragmatics and of theory vs. reality, and I'm thinking about—

I can't take Ludinus seriously. All I can imagine is him in front of a mirror with a pack of index cards, rehearsing his speech and occasionally pausing to mark where there could be more condescension and arrogance.

honestly, wild that not only were all three of Marisha's main campaign PCs in the same place, against all expectation and beyond what seemed properly possible, all three of LIAM'S main campaign PCs were ALSO in the same place
in the same place as all three of Marisha's PCs, even

[ID: A digital illustration of Vax'ildan and Keyleth from Critical Role. Keyleth is at the bottom of the image with just her head and shoulders in frame. She lies bloodied on the ground, her antlers are dislodged from her head and her face is turned away from the camera towards Vax. Vax stands protecting her. His wings are partially extended behind him and his hair and stray feathers fly about in the motion of his arrival. He faces to the left wearing a mask like a raven’s skull on his face and glaring. Behind his head are two black circles, one within the other, resembling a halo. End description.]

Critical Role C2 Fanart (Part VIII) [END]
The Nein face Lucien in a Final Fantasy end boss battle :D
A couple of epilogue pieces. Essek and Caleb eventually get together (this was done prior to M9 Reunited coming out). Kingsley captains the MollyMauk (also done before M9 Reunited, but this definitely happens after that)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is the end of my series of fanart for the M9, but there's a few one-off pics here or there that'll upload as I go.

The parallels between Saundor treating Vex like this small, sad, broken child who needs him to fix her and Percy treating Vex with respect and admiration and giving her a title because he feels she's worthy of one just the way she is
