Rob and I visited Lake Serene on January 14, 2019 - an exceptional day for this time of year.

We strolled up the side of the Taylor River to Otter Falls on December 27th.

On November 11th, we had a memorial service at Bonney-Watson for Guy and Sally. Day trip to Gothic Basin, 10/30/2018

Anyone who hikes up to Gothic Basin between now and next summer is going to need snowshoes.

Two photos, taken a minute apart at the midpoint of the Heather-Maple Pass hike. The point of including this is less to show off the scenery than it is to play with the 3D effect of the juxtaposition, and also to see how to create animated GIFs in Gimp (freeware image-editing software).

On Thursday and Friday, October 10 & 11, 2018, my buddy Rob and I launched two day trips into the North Cascades. On Thursday, we did the incomparable Heather - Maple Pass loop and then spent the night in Winthrop. On the following morning, we drove back to the pass and hiked north to see Cutthroat Pass.

On Tuesday, 10/2, Gary and I hiked from our campsite at Snow Lake to Asgaard Pass and back, through the Enchantment Lakes.

Loretta and I hiked to Lake Ingalls on June 26th, 2018. The day was simply perfect, except for one selfie that was more foot-centric than I’d expected.
