The next morning Danny headed into work as per usual, he greeted your father good morning and made coffee for the both of them. After helping with some of the opening tasks and paperwork for the day, he went to work on some of the cars in the back, getting fixed and ready for their owners to collect and drive again. He couldn't help but think about you, how you looked at him with your pretty eyes. How warmed you felt when he hugged you tight. How sweet you sounded when you told him whatever was on your mind. Yet he couldn't help the feeling of unworthiness. You and your father have done so much for him, and he would forever be in your debt, but you had gone to college, studying and hard working to achieve a life that was more desirable than being a lone person. Your father could sense something was up, and without a single thought he just immediately asked Danny if everything was alright. "Yeah I just, im feeling a bit conflicted about something." Danny replied. "Something or someone?" Your father asked, trying to squeeze out more information. "Ahh it's someone." Danny nervously replied. Danny said with a sigh, and your father without hesitation said: "She likes you, a lot. I can hear her talking to her girlfriends about you, she forgot we live within humble walls, they aint that thick." And then your father added: "and also I saw you to huggin' by the door last night. Reminded me of when me and Y/N's mother were young and in love". Danny smiled at the thought but then the smile that graced his face turned, and with a sad tone he said: "but she deserves better, she deserves the world and beyond. I don't want to hold her from the life she could have." "Son, do you love her?" Your father asked, "With all my heart." Danny replied. "Well than, why don't you leave a bit early tonight, take her out to dinner, but bring her home by 10." "Yessir!" Danny replied.

When you came to the shop you were surprise to see Danny missing, "ahh dad, where's Danny?" You asked. "He said he has somethin' important tonight, so I let him leave early, but he did want me to hand you this." Your father answered and gave you a note from Danny, telling you to get ready because he will be at your house at six to pick you up. You blushed and rushed home to get ready, a million thoughts racing through your mind and butterflies filled your heart. As promised Danny was at your doorstep by six. "Hey beautiful" he said when you answered the door you chuckled and smiled, complimenting him back. He took you out to the fields, surrounded be sunflowers and dusky skies. After picking out a little makeshift bouquet for you, the two of you headed to a local pizza shop, where Danny treated you to dinner and the two of you spent the evening together.

Tonight when Danny walked you home, at the front step of your door, he couldn't help himself and looked into your eyes. "Thank you Danny, I had a lot of fun tonight." You said in a small voice, still holding your little sunflower bouquet Danny picked for you when you went to the fields. He smiled and his hand graced your face. He gently moved a piece of your hair behind your ear, and leaned in for a kiss. His lips felt so soft on yours, it was just as magical as you fantasized it to be. You kissed him back wanting more and more but Danny slowly pulled away, kissing the top of your forehead before whispering a "goodnight, Y/N". You quietly replied a "goodnight, Danny" and headed inside. The both of you falling asleep dreaming about the other, feeling euphoric, and craving the next day when you'd finally meet again.

Danny spent his childhood bouncing from house to house, his heart breaking each time he was tossed back into the system. Once Danny had become an adult even the system was no longer there for him. He had managed to scrape his way into a small town, coming across the local mechanic shop. Danny walked in, admiring the work. "Hello sir, how can I help?" You greeted him with a soft smile. "I-uh I'm just looking around, I'm new to town." Danny nervously replied. "Oh well hey, I'm Y/N. It's nice to meet you-" "Danny" he said. "And nice meeting you Y/N." He added whilst shaking your hand. The two of you continued to talk since the shop was rather empty, you offered him a cup of coffee as the two of you chatted, you helping the few other customers that sprinkled into the shop throughout. Your father couldn't but help listen in to the conversation, it seemed that the new kid in town knew quite a lot about the mechanical work. "Sorry to interrupt the two of you, I'm Y/F/N, the owner of the shop and Y/N's father." Your dad said extending a hand out to Danny. "Danny." He introduced himself once more shaking your father's hand this time. "Tell me Danny, you know quite a lot about the work and the industry, how come?" Your father questioned him, "well sir, I can't really explain why but I've always gravitated to this type of work, just being able to craft and fix things has been something I've been into since I was a kid." "You have a job yet?" Your father continues to question him, "no sir. Not yet." Danny replies a bit more quietly. "Well son, how about you join me up? I'm getting a bit older and running the shop by myself is getting a bit harder than it used to, no longer in my prime days so a helping hand would be appreciated." Danny could help but smile, for the first time he finally felt genuine happiness, "Yes sir! I'd love too!".

It's been almost a year since Danny has started working for your father. You would help in during weekends, something you and your dad have shared for years, and now you got to share it with Danny as well. You couldn't help but enjoy the weekends working even more now. He was always kind towards you, always lending a hand and checking in on you. He would crack jokes when the shop was empty to keep you entertained or hum along to the radio. You hoped he wouldn't notice the blush that always found its way to your cheeks whenever you were with him, or thinking of him, or dreaming of him.

Knowing it was just you and your dad, you went to a cheap, near by community college, your father insisting that it's a milestone you ought to achieve. Some nights after school you would just bring your homework to the shop, even if you were stuck sitting in the back room focusing on your studies, you got to at least see Danny pop in and out for a coffee, which already made you smile. Today was one of those days, you sat in the back room trying to write your essay, wanting to finish it before the weekend comes. Lost in your work, you failed to notice Danny's footsteps as he entered the room, that was until he softly spoke. "Heya Y/N, how's it going?" "Oh-h hey Danny, it's going alright, just working of some school stuff, what about you?". "Oh I didn't mean to startled you, but glad all is alright, want some coffee?" Danny offered and you happily took his offer. He had stayed that night with you in the shop and helped you complete your essay. But the difference between tonight and past nights was after you closed the shop, and Danny, as always, offered to walk you home, you couldn't help but blurt a little "I love you" after he walked you to the front door. Danny likes the idea of marriage, he knows its a social concept more than anything, and if you didn't want to get married for any reason Danny wouldn't care. He knows that at the end of the day it is the love in your hearts and trust in one another that truly matters. However, if you aren't opposed to marriage he would definitely propose to you. He just thinks its a good way to honor and celebrate your love, and this man likes to remind you he loves you wholeheartedly in anyway he can.

Danny will pick up any nicknames your friends and family have given you, along with calling sweetie/sweetheart, honey, sugar and darling. You call him babe/baby a lot, and sometimes call him honey or darling as well.

Will follow you around like a lost puppy, but Danny respects boundaries and knows when to take a step back and let you breathe. However he does like being around you as much as he can, quality time is one of his love languages. Will take you out a lot, again, quality time being important to him. But will also do a lot of physical work for you as acts of service, such as driving you around if needed, help around the house, build you some stuff, help you take care of your car, etc. Also a sucker for physical touch and is always happy to have a cuddle session, not afraid of PDA.

Danny is great at communicating and reading people. He is very understanding and empathic. All he expects is that you also communicate back to him so there isn't anything hiding under the rug. And that when he has to set a boundary you'll respect it as much as he respects yours.

It means everything. Whilst he knows that finding the one first try isn't likely and that his heart will break at least once in life, he will only ask a person out if he thinks that even a rejection or a break up with them will be worth it. He asked you out cause he knew that no matter what, you are important enough for him, and he puts everything he can into this relationship because you are now his world. Danny is an early bird, and every morning he wakes up and makes to cups of coffee, one for him and one for you. He will not wake you up before your cup of coffee was ready. He tends to be the one cooking breakfast as well, so he tries to wake you up just before its done, so you can get those few minutes you need to fully wake up before heading to the kitchen for your daily eggs and coffee.

This man loves physical attention. He will cuddle you every night and wake you up every morning with a kiss on your forehead. He loves cuddles, hugs, and kisses.

If you had to be away for a bit, and Danny didn't get the daily hang out time with you, he'll make sure to call at least once a day just to check in on you. He feels a bit lonely but he spends that time thinking of a date night for when you come back, to make up for lost time.

He will do anything for you and to protect you. You both put a lot of effort into your relationship and the day to day feels fairly balanced and comfortable. But if you need anything, no matter how small or how big. Even if its an inconvenience; Danny will do it for you.
