The relationship between media and government has a profound impact on the information to which the public has access. Governments have relied on media to communicate with citizens, and stakeholders around the world, ensuring that they receive the information that will shape their day-to-day decisions, from what to buy, where to live, which school to attend to issues surrounding their health, safety and political views. In turn, a strong media assesses this information, analyses, and instigates stimulating discussions that ensure a nation’s identity is always evolving in a positive and insightful way, and never muffle. In the Philippines the freedom of media is a controversial issue that remain unsettled for years. Since media has the power to address their opinion and expression regarding to the certain issues in the society especially the government. The government normally the main subject matter because media act as the government’s “watchdog". Therefore, there are much probabilities that the media may either be bias with bad governance or impartial for the sake of our society. So it’s not surprising that technologies are being used to flood fake news, with this, it would difficult to us who to trust because of these fake news flooding in any platform of media, especially in social media, that's the most source of fake news leaking on the internet. Governments have been hard at work trying to stay a step ahead of those who use digital technology to break the law. As a student we support and we trust our government officials in handling our country but they should also consider that Philippines is a democratic country that gives us a right to know the truth and respect each other's differences (tradition, culture, norms and doctrines)
