Yes shipping real ppl is wrong but so is constantly gazing at your co-star with heart eyes behind the scenes and mentioning her in every and all interviews when the question has nothing to do with her and then sending her a coffee and bingsu truck on July 7 which is when your character said he would return to her character in a show you are clearly not over.

But that means… you’ll have to stay in Korea longer. It was partly for you, actually. Even if I kill Jang Han-seok and leave, Babel will remain strong, and you’ll continue to fight against them. I didn’t want to leave you fighting the long war alone.

I cant be the only thinking IABYS is the love letter between Vincenzo and cha young. The lyrics depict their inner thoughts when they are away.
The lyrics breakdown beautifully and the song portrays their love story more than the drama itself, it shows how much they mean for each other although they are physically separated and that no matter what they are each other’s

Mamamia 🤌🏻
In Vincenzo, the way the writer and director have been portraying Vincenzo’s repressed feelings and emotional struggle is through close ups of his hands. His palm facing and holdings hers is therefore a HUGE moment. It is deeply symbolic and better than any I love you.

The book and it’s title is a metaphor for Vincenzo’s path towards self-acceptance and self-love.The writer obviously represents his relationship with CY. When he said he didn’t like the font (of his name), what he meant was that he didn’t like himself and wasn’t deserving of her.

The hands scene and him staring at the book and the pen on the plane shows he’s finally accepted he is deserving of her love. This is why he got off, to go and tell her. If you look at the cover of the book I feel that inzaghi is the blue bird. Inzaghi represents his heart and soul. At first he was at odds with Inzaghi, but as time went by he started nurturing / feeding him - a metaphor for self love.He stopped being bothered by Inzaghi’s noise outside the window - meaning Vincenzo was becoming more at peace with himself. When he said “I forgot to feed Inzaghi” what he actually meant was he came back to be with Cha-Young. He’s ready to accept her into his heart so to speak, and he’s ready to give her his. When he was leaving for Italy, inzaghi didn’t come because his heart didn’t want to leave Korea. He finally accepted love given from CY’s and his cassano family .I just think that it is so beautiful 🥺. He is even opening his heart to Han SEO. Let’s be real he ADORES him. Not at first but now. He likes that Han seo is repenting and finally getting what he deserves. He even opened his heart to seuyk do. Look at him getting a younger brother, two older brother (mr nam and seuyk do), a mother figure( the restaurant women I don’t know her name), a daughter (miri), an uncle(mr tak),friends who he can fully trust like chef toto, the rest of ant company gang, the pawn shop couple who really adores him and he does the same plus he got TWO BEST FRIENDS (mr ahn and mr cho). Even the son of restaurant women idolises him and let’s not forget HIS WIFE. He is not ALONE anymore. He has a real family. Why would he leave for Italy.
I LOVE the fact that their scene took place at the airport. Vincenzo and CY standing in a departure hall symbolises the cross road they stand at in their relationship SO well. The question of are you leaving South Korea was always just plain subtext for 'are you leaving me'. I know the scene in ep 18 were after the court how they parted ways and said see you later, I think it means that after making peace with themselves and figuring out what they really want aka the character development, they will in the end always come back to each other. I knew they will be separated for a while to realise how they longed and missed each other.
I think CY purposely changed the quote? You can see the pure astonishment, awe and love on his face when she was saying/confessing in his language in which he frequently uses to express himself. I want him to correct her because since the beginning we know that they are very good at philosophy. CY literally hinted that the ball is in his court now and he will take a step towards their relationship. I guess in the mid of ep19 he will tell her that he loves her🤞🏻

An analysis of the seemingly lacking moments and distance between Vincenzo and Cha Young in the last two episodes and their feelings for each other
I think the whole Vincenzo parting for a while plot was explicitly made for Vincenzo to realize his feelings for both cha young and the newfound family in Korea. I think it revolves around the parallel of him saying he will leave Korea as he has no attachment in this country but when he actually has to do it, even temporarily, he realized the attachment he has and couldn’t leave.
And I have been wondering what would it take for Vincenzo to actually acknowledge his feelings to cha young, like for his character, he won’t randomly confess, we know he deems himself to be undeserving of love because of the deeds he has done (the infamous deleted scene which is actually important for this part of character development)...
Next, the kiss scene was just a chance he(they) took because well they had the perfect opportunity and it was required. Post that, they both probably know how much they long each other but are suppressing the feelings because of all the bigger and important issues happening. After this, Vincenzo losing his mom is another major development that has actually made the love line even more of a not-required accessory for him at the moment. It has also been a trigger that made him descend into pure mafia-like evil, and deepened the conflicts in their minds, i.e, him thinking love is even more unnecessary for him and cha young questioning his morals and her love for him... we could see she wasn’t totally comfortable with killing the crystal ball guy. And this is also probably the reason for Vincenzo going solo and cha young getting reduced to a side character (I hate it but that is what is required in the plot).
So coming back to my main point of what would it take for Vincenzo to realize his feelings and act on them is their parting (and he couldn’t take it and came back immediately...), now from the preview cha young being in danger might be the next trigger that might push him to confront his feelings directly BUT, the resolution of his conflict of whether he deserves the love or not would be the ultimate decider. And from cha young’s side, it is yet to be seen if she can accept the entire past and baggage that comes along with Vincenzo... she still has her morals(that she learned from her father) and second thoughts of killing people and is definitely in a conflict if she should hop on the real mafia train.. again from the preview it looks like she witnessing another death might give her the push to completely go evil and this same process might let her accept Vincenzo completely.
Sooooo we need the next two episodes to address this properly before jumping into the confession scene that is being demanded. After this analysis, I think everything in the last two episodes makes sense, so the seeming distance between them and the handshake, not a hug, shows they are not ready for the commitment yet (because of all the reasons mentioned above) but don’t want to lose their friendship. But him coming back is just cementing that their relationship is more than friendship but neither is ready to take the plunge. Them confessing without showing the resolution of these conflicts would actually be out of character.
I'm actually satisfied with this writing and take back my initial thoughts of this episode under-delivering.
