Light: *Gay panic* what are you doing?
L: *This idiot doesn’t even know I’m Jesus in this biblical reference* helping *also gay panic*
Comments on the foot scene are so funny: “Light and L aren’t gay, L was just treating Light like the god he was” euhmmm that sounds even more romantic to me

It’s not gay if it’s a biblical reference, right?
i headcanon that light sat in his room after going to to-oh college and just thought. "i am not gay, that random emo boy i played tennis with is not hot." lawlight will forever be such a funny pairing to me because it's basically just light going "I'M NOT GAY STOP WASHING MY FEET IN A HOMOEROTIC MANNER" and l being entirely clueless and seeing him as his very first friend

Thought I’d share my knowledge on periods for anyone who needs it.
Advil works better than Tylenol, 400 grams is usually the dose I go for as a teen. Heat also helps a lot .
If you’re looking for the right tampon size start with light or medium, depending on your flow, and adjust from there. Don’t leave tampons in for over 8 hours, and change them when you’re going to bed for the night.
I don’t know to much about pads, I don’t use them, but from what I remember it’s fairly similar.
Our culture tends to view periods as gross or unnatural, that’s wrong, they are completely natural and normal. Despite that they can still suck, remember to take care of yourself, don’t do things that make cramps worse, and take pain meds before shit gets bad
hmmm why does my uterus hurt and why do i feel kinda off. weird. surely these are not the warning symptoms of a predictable biological process that occurs on a regular schedule. anyway. im going to wear white pants today.

Y'all, the world is sleeping on what NASA just pulled off with Voyager 1
The probe has been sending gibberish science data back to Earth, and scientists feared it was just the probe finally dying. You know, after working for 50 GODDAMN YEARS and LEAVING THE GODDAMN SOLAR SYSTEM and STILL CHURNING OUT GODDAMN DATA.
So they analyzed the gibberish and realized that in it was a total readout of EVERYTHING ON THE PROBE. Data, the programming, hardware specs and status, everything. They realized that one of the chips was malfunctioning.
So what do you do when your probe is 22 Billion km away and needs a fix? Why, you just REPROGRAM THAT ENTIRE GODDAMN THING. Told it to avoid the bad chip, store the data elsewhere.
Sent the new code on April 18th. Got a response on April 20th - yeah, it's so far away that it took that long just to transmit.
And the probe is working again.
From a programmer's perspective, that may be the most fucking impressive thing I have ever heard.

enough reclaiming slurs, I think in 2023 we should reclaim nascar. they banned the confederate flag on all properties & their stance on lgbtq+ isn’t just performative bc in 2013 they fined a driver 10k for using a homophobic slur, condemned indiana in a statement for an anti lgbt law, and partnered w carolina’s lgbt+ chamber of conference in 2022. nascar was founded by anti-cop moonshiners/bootleggers who drove suped-up fords to out-run the police. #yaaascar

reminder this pride month that disabled people in the US on SSI and some forms of SSDI* do not have the same marriage equality as people not on SSI and SSDI. its called the marriage penalty.
by getting married, a disabled person can lose their income, benefits, and health insurance.
if a disabled person marries an able bodied person, and combined their assets are $3000 or over they will lose all benefits, including medicaid (health insurance).
if a disabled person marries a disabled person, their assistance is lowered 25%.
we don’t have marriage equality until all disabled marriages are equal.
*SSDI title II (disabled adult child) does fall under the marriage penalty, regular SSDI does not.

I found an extremely dope disability survival guide for those who are homebound, bedbound, in need of disability accommodations, or would otherwise like resources for how to manage your life as a disabled person. (Link is safe)
It has some great articles and resources and while written by people with ME/CFS, it keeps all disabilities in mind. A lot of it is specific to the USA but even if you're from somewhere else, there are many guides that can still help you. Some really good ones are:
How to live a great disabled life- A guide full of resources to make your life easier and probably the best place to start (including links to some of the below resources). Everything from applying for good quality affordable housing to getting free transportation, affordable medication, how to get enough food stamps, how to get a free phone that doesn't suck, how to find housemates and caregivers, how to be homebound, support groups and Facebook pages (including for specific illnesses), how to help with social change from home, and so many more.
Turning a "no" into a "yes"- A guide on what to say when denied for disability aid/accommodations of many types, particularly over the phone. "Never take no for an answer over the phone. If you have not been turned down in writing, you have not been turned down. Period."
How to be poor in America- A very expansive and helpful guide including things from a directory to find your nearest food bank to resources for getting free home modifications, how to get cheap or free eye and dental care, extremely cheap internet, and financial assistance with vet bills
How to be homebound- This is pretty helpful even if you're not homebound. It includes guides on how to save spoons, getting free and low cost transportation, disability resources in your area, home meals, how to have fun/keep busy while in bed, and a severe bedbound activity master list which includes a link to an audio version of the list on Soundcloud
Master List of Disability Accommodation Letters For Housing- Guides on how to request accommodations and housing as well as your rights, laws, and prewritten sample letters to help you get whatever you need. Includes information on how to request additional bedrooms, stop evictions, request meetings via phone, mail, and email if you can't in person, what you can do if a request is denied, and many other helpful guides
Special Laws to Help Domestic Violence Survivors (Vouchers & Low Income Housing)- Protections, laws, and housing rights for survivors of DV (any gender), and how to get support and protection under the VAWA laws to help you and/or loved ones receive housing and assistance
Dealing With Debt & Disability- Information to assist with debt including student loans, medical debt, how to deal with debt collectors as well as an article with a step by step guide that helped the author cut her overwhelming medical bills by 80%!
There are so many more articles, guides, and tools here that have helped a lot of people. And there are a lot of rights, resources, and protections that people don't know they have and guides that can help you manage your life as a disabled person regardless of income, energy levels, and other factors.
Please boost!

Ok so at this point I've had two people roll up to me in manual wheelchairs, well, one of them was somebody pushing somebody who was nonverbal at the time, but it still counts. They asked me why I had zip ties around my tires.
It's winter where I'm living and we have really bad snow. And the snow plow people are really bad at their jobs probably because there aren't snow plow people who clean sidewalks. As a solution I got to thinking about how I could increase the traction on my wheels. And the most redneck thing I could think of was taking a bunch of zip ties and tying them around my wheels. They last surprisingly long, and work surprisingly well. It's basically the same premise as chains for your tires during the winter.
I chose to space them out pretty evenly so there's about one for every spoke. You could probably do more or less depending on how many you want and how much traction you get but I wouldn't go more than three per spoke. I realize that it's a bit later in the winter, and I probably should have made a post about this sooner, but I came up with it about a week ago. So please share this, even if you're not disabled, because there are tons of people I know who are stuck in their houses because they can't get around in the snow. A pack of zip ties costs about $5, which compared to $200 knobby snow tires is a big save, and if you want to invest you could get colored zip ties.

but seriously, i can't believe how far i've gone. and how i should be really proud of myself.
11 years of never-ending pain, of learning how to ignore and endure it, how to look and act "normal".
then my first shitty canes (they're pretty but completely unusable). first steps. first shame. how i was afraid to show up at work with it.
after that, i ordered a custom cane. and then another one. i decorated them. made them vibing. i started taking it to work, still afraid to use it around my colleagues.
then i got three house canes (first and second ones got chewed by my beloved dog lol) and started using it at home as well.
and now i use it everywhere i go. when i walk my dog, when i go to my lunch break on work, when i get around my apartment.
i got forearm crutches and learned how to use them. i decorated them too! they're yellow, covered in flowers stickers.
today i started saving up for my future rollator. i believe i'll be able to actually order it by june.
it all happened too fast, i still have impostor syndrome, i still feel self-conscious, like i'm not actually disabled and don't belong to cpunk communtiy and i'm a faker etc etc etc... but one thing happened: i improved my life. (even if i'm a faker lol) i got less pain every day, less fatigue, i stopped being ashamed at least of my canes.
my best friend was a big part of this journey, without her support i'd never get here. love her so much.

while i was out running errands just now, i overheard two adults having a conversation about selling kids' toys for money when they become desired by collectors. one of the people said verbatim, "I didn't know you're not supposed to open your toys! Nobody told me, I was a dumb kid!"
welcome to capitalist america, where children aren't allowed to play with their own fucking toys. actual children are being pressured to forego playing with their own toys because they might be worth more down the road (and more than likely, for the parent's profit, not the child's.) children. can't play with their toys. those things that are made for children. to be played with. kids can't even LOOK at them because they're being locked away in closets and safes to be in "mint condition" for collectors down the line.
toys aren't made for profit, they're made to be FUCKING PLAYED WITH. children's toys are not "baby's first investment." they're CHILDREN they don't need to worry about how much their TOY will be worth down the road. fuck this system. not even kids are safe. i want this shit to burn to the ground. i want kids to be able to fucking PLAY and be happy. please for the love of god just let kids be kids. let this shit be over with once and for all, our CHILDREN are suffering.

just a reminder that us diy punks are just overgrown craft kids!!!! We are happiest with tape and paper and markers. We make little things!!! Just like your nephew little timmy!!!! We will gladly make a handprint turkey!!!! The only difference is we want human rights and use our little crafts as protest.
